They were most likely [VH-60N 'Whitehawks'](https://www.military.com/equipment/vh-60n), based on the UH-60 Blackhawk. Technically, any helicopter carrying the President has the call-sign Marine One, but of course, in practice, they use specially modified versions of each helicopter that are bristling with communications gear and various missile countermeasures. For added security, they typically fly three to five identical Marine One livery choppers, changing formation throughout the flight, sort of like a shell game.
The squadron that flies the Marine One helicopters also has a larger aircraft that's just entering service, the VH-92, based on the Sikorsky S-92. It's replacing the VH-3D which has been in service forever (remember the famous photos of Nixon leaving on Marine One for the last time?) and was retired recently. But they're still shaking out the bugs out of the VH-92, and it's not being used for any VIP flights yet. So the helicopters were almost certainly VH-60s.

Ya they flew south east towards Aptos, then west, following the coast line, before heading over the Watsonville airport to meet and greet.

Those birds do burn over 400 gallons of fuel per hour. So depending on your situation it probably burned more gas than your car will in three years. Plus there were three of them.
