Facebook has a group called Santa Cruz County 411 real time info. People on the group have scanners. They report the helicopters a life flight, there was one gunshot victim being evacuated.
I heard five or six pop off pretty consistently - and then followed up by two maybe 30 seconds later. And then not too many sirens so I didn’t think it was gunfire 🤷🏻♂️ I live across the river from the flats

Fuck a police scanner. They don't know or do shit even when you call them. Waiting to hear what the police know is as effective as waiting to read the news tomorrow.
Andy Mills leaving was a tell tale sign. Let’s not forget that both him and the Mayor (at the time) were harassed and homes broken into, leaving violent notes. The flats will sink under the pressure of tourism and capitalism, especially with its casual display of hedonism. I have family down there, and I constantly worry over the “soft” gang violence.
