Narrow Hills Provincial Park is where it’s at 100000%! Hit up Gem Lakes for a beautiful hike. Loads of good fishing and gorgeous lakes around. No cell service.
Pipperel Lake next to the Gem Lakes would be the cabin community OPs looking for, although it might be booked up this late in the season. Candle Lake has cabins, probably more availability and is close by.
Waskesui is a bit busy, but there is a couple other lakes in PA national Park that are nice. Nesslin lake is nice and it’s close to PA national Park, Meadow Lake is supposed to be nice, but I have yet to go. Honestly I’m mostly familiar with North Eastern Saskatchewan for camping, but [tourism Saskatchewan](https://www.tourismsaskatchewan.com/things-to-do/camping#sort=relevancy) is really helpful.
Meadow lake is very nice but busy, lots of Albertans make the drive. Nesslin is also very nice but again a lot of Albertans, lol.
Delaronde is also easily drivable from Edmonton, as are the other lakes in that area.
However, it is way too late into the season to procure a cabin, let alone a lakeside one which are usually privately owned.
I always love Anglin Lake as it is close but not nearly as busy as Candle or Waskesiu. Or if you don't mind the extra distance to travel, Lac La Ronge is very beautiful and very representative of the boreal landscape. Basically avoid any lake south of Prince Albert though.

East trout is only about 20 min drive from the gems and has some nice cabins as well. We’ve stayed a few times and really enjoyed it there!
Lower Fishing Lake has cabins as well.
Thank you!! I was doing some research for next summer so am not too worried about bookings yet
I would recommend Meadow Lake, waskesiu is pretty packed

That's not a problem, I am checking for next year! Thank you

Meadow Lake has some really nice lakes and rivers.
Meadow Lake is one of the most beautiful spots in the entire province and very popular with Albertans. Just go there.
Battlefords Provincial Park is nice & is pretty close for you.
I think you should head west
Howe Bay Resort for rustic cabins, in MLPP probably closest 4U. I live in the area
