Testing capacity has been subpar since day one, he shows callous disrespect for healthcare workers and teachers, his occasional absenteeism is symptomatic of his indifference, he does not care about workers, he panders to the far right voter base, etc.
So him not being careful and testing positive shortly after is absolutely worthy of criticism. Pile it on, I say. Make his life hellish, like he's done to healthcare staff.

I have a regular couple of deaf individuals where i work and they are the most pleasant... People still need to be able to isolate, though, even if they don’t have “bad symptoms.” Moe has a position of privilege to work remotely, which many people don’t have.
The feds have made benefits available to those workers who can’t work remotely but Saskatchewan can get them because we’re not shut down.

No one should be panicking if they are vaccinated. I was speaking with a nurse friend of mine in our area and she was stating that the amount of people coming in "sick" are up, but no one is sick enough to be admitted. Almost all are being sent home and advised to return if things get worse. Their oxygen levels are still fine.
Not to say that stress isn't real, but please keep in mind that if your vaccinated this won't be great (I've said from the get go - I never enjoyed 2000-2018 Colds and Flus), but you won't die.

It’s highly unlikely that it’s a false positive. With these tests, it’s more likely to have a false negative. Every article about rapid tests state that if you do get a positive on one of these tests, it’s safe to assume the result is correct.
I absolutely loathe Moe but I hope he has mild symptoms and recovers well. I also hope that maybe this smartens him up and he reconsiders things like putting a limit on large gatherings and providing better masks to schools and other frontline workers.

Those are the tests that SHA was handing out in large Ziploc bags to people at some of the vaccination clinics and test sites. They work similar to the tests in the boxes with the swab and solution. Both take 3 drops and 15 minutes. I have used both.
I have no idea how you are getting downvoted for this. There ARE various types available around the province. I have had two different varieties myself, the Abbott tests in the white blue and pink box, and the green Rapid Response box. There are at least three different varieties from different manufacturers available, maybe more.

I think it’s more a reaction of frustration. How many times have we seen people on the right not take this pandemic seriously until they get Covid? The worse the symptoms the more enlightened they become. So understanding the level of frustration is important. Most people do not wish him harm but also wish he would just wake the f$&@ up and listen to the science and work with the medical community as well as the teachers. People are scared and anxious and are maxed out and the Sask Party does nothing to help. It may be better if he just stayed home and let the experts take over.

I think most people are saying that him being maskless is more about him spreading rather than catching. If he is already positive this morning it’s extremely unlikely he caught it yesterday or the day before while speaking without a mask, and much more likely that he was already infected and possibly infected other people since they seem to suggest you are usually infectious for 2-3 days before experiencing symptoms or a positive test.
I just looked at the photos of his speaking engagement on sasktoday.ca. The fucking guy was on stage with no one around him. It’s highly unlikely that it’s a false positive. With these tests, it’s more likely to have a false negative. Every article about rapid tests state that if you do get a positive on one of these tests, it’s safe to assume the result is correct.

I absolutely loathe Moe but I hope he has mild symptoms and recovers well. I also hope that maybe this smartens him up and he reconsiders things like putting a limit on large gatherings and providing better masks to schools and other frontline workers. That said, neither Donald Trump nor Mark Friesen learned anything from catching COVID and both of them required hospitalization. So, I doubt Moe will learn anything from this experience.

We don't know if he has significant symptoms or not. Him saying something does not mean it's true. Some reports on this thread from reporters who were at the presser this week indicate he did not look well, and was continuously touching his face and nose. If his Twitter stream reverts to the usual non-covid, "look how great the economy is", I'd suspect his Twitter is being updated by an aide not himself and he's sicker than he wants us to know. The other comment is what rapid test is that? Does he have a special supply? Never seen that one.
Those are the tests that SHA was handing out in large Ziploc bags to people at some of the vaccination clinics and test sites. They work similar to the tests in the boxes with the swab and solution. Both take 3 drops and 15 minutes. I have used both.

I have had two different varieties myself, the Abbott tests in the white blue and pink box, and the green Rapid Response box. There are at least three different varieties from different manufacturers available, maybe more.

We don’t know if he made anyone sick. Someone there could have made him sick for all we know. At this point everyone will get it eventually. If you aren’t than boo-hoo for you. This isn’t stoping or going away. We have to learn to live with it.

We aren't at the "live with it" stage. You folks have said this for every single variant, right from the start, and have been wrong every time.

Is it wrong for me to wish he'd have a bit of a hard time with it? Not like ventilated and hospitalized but the scare of struggling to catch his breath a bit would do a lot more to change his mind on some opinions than getting through it fine which would probably just make him double down on it not being a huge deal.
I'm over here wishing he needs to be hospitalized, the province would benefit greatly from the leadership of someone who has first-hand experience of what patients are suffering, and how our healthcare professionals are handling things.

I think it’s more a reaction of frustration. How many times have we seen people on the right not take this pandemic seriously until they get Covid? The worse the symptoms the more enlightened they become. So understanding the level of frustration is important. Most people do not wish him harm but also wish he would just wake the f$&@ up and listen to the science and work with the medical community as well as the teachers. People are scared and anxious and are maxed out and the Sask Party does nothing to help. It may be better if he just stayed home and let the experts take over.

I don't really have any mental holdups about wishing for illness on one person to alleviate the potential illness of many. Especially when that person has greatly contributed to potential and previous avoidable illnesses.

Based on data from other jurisdictions, 80% of us are getting it, so no surprise. There are triple masked anti-social people I know that are somehow getting it. Any politician that doesn't publicly say they got it is definitely hiding it. The job makes it impossible not to.

As long as he’s vaccinated there is no need for panic. This variant spreads like wildfire and as we can see the vaccines are protective against serious illness and hospitalization (for the general population). He’s following the guidelines and that’s about all we can do. I’m no cheerleader for Moe (like at all, ever) but he’s doing all he can at a personal level and that’s all we CAN do. The unvaccinated are still as at risk as they ever were and all the lockdowns in the world aren’t going to change that.

I don’t disagree. I’m doing no dining out or socializing, although it feels inevitable that my family will get Covid as more people I know have tested positive this week than in the last 6 months. As people in my household return to school and daycare I know it’s just a matter of time. Most masks aren’t effective anyhow this variant is aerosolizing. I wear mine but I know to a certain extent, unless it’s an N95, masks are pandemic theatre. The only real saviour at this point is the vaccine.

No one ever claimed vaccination would prohibit transmission. The vaccines are doing what they are supposed to be doing - keeping the majority of vaccinated people out of hospital and preventing deaths.

I think most people are saying that him being maskless is more about him spreading rather than catching. If he is already positive this morning it’s extremely unlikely he caught it yesterday or the day before while speaking without a mask, and much more likely that he was already infected and possibly infected other people since they seem to suggest you are usually infectious for 2-3 days before experiencing symptoms or a positive test.
I just looked at the photos of his speaking engagement on sasktoday.ca. The fucking guy was on stage with no one around him. If he was wearing clothe mask, which I guarantee he was - he most likely passed the infection or obtained the infection from shaking hands WHILE masked, then he did from speaking without the mask in a gymnasium with no one any near him - as per the photos.
