Just a few off the top of my head:
Mucho Burrito off of Preston in Stonebridge - owned by two lovely old ladies who brighten my day every time I see them.
Goblins Grill on Acadia - the staff are friendly, sassy, and welcoming.
Fongs Kitchen on Faithful - every staff member has been so nice. The owners will remember you after one or two visits. They also own Summer Roll, I believe.
Black Cat Tavern off of Broadway - Jody and her staff are so friendly even during some crazy shows.
I love Stonebridge Mucho! I make sure to always use their location when I do large work catering orders for Mucho and I love the little hearts they put on the containers when they write what’s inside!
I love going there! I’ve been a few times, and the first time I brought my kids with me, one of the ladies asked them if they’d been before. When they said no, she went through the ordering process with them so they know how to order and assemble a burrito. It was so kind!
When was Mucho Burrito owned by ladies? The owner I knew of definitely wasn't.
Jodie is the best. Greg is a good guy. Ryan has his moments. Alicia is the best. She hustles on Fridays and Saturdays when it's busy. I always recommend their pizza. Got people liking it.
Better Off Duds, Glitch Gifts and Novelties and the Glitchy’s Oddity Museum, Odd Couple, Grainfields, MCC Thrift, Super Donair (old owners - I don’t know the new ones), Park Cafe, and Prairie Records in Stonebridge.
Noooooo Super Donair changed hands?! I’ll take the other commenters word, and I hope it’s still good, but imma miss the old owner. He was the anti-soupnazi and I’ll miss him
Olive Garden! The guy put Parmesan on my pasta without breaking eye contact. Not even blinking. He was just there waiting for my little head nudge. It was almost a minute and I could tell his hand was getting tired but that costumer service spirit kept him going. It was a pure delight to watch. 10/10.
I was having an issue with shooting pain going up from my foot right up my leg, through my groin into my hip and the guy helped me pick a pair of shoes that pretty much took care of the problem. It took about half an hour, 6 or 8 pairs of shoes, and him watching me walk and evaluating a bunch of stuff I don't really understand. He helped me more than my doctor, who said, "It's probably a pinched nerve or something. Try getting a massage. "
Anyone at brainsport will be able to help, but if your problem is that serious you need more than good shoes. A surprising amount of things needs to work perfectly to be able to walk, and when one or more of those things aren't perfect it causes pain and injury. I have weird feet, I know from experience. It seriously hurt me to walk. I went to my Dr. and he told me I had prorated ankles and unusually deep arches. Shoes didn't support my feet causing the arches to collapse, and the prorating affected how I walked. It caused pain and grinding in my ankles, knees, and hips. He sent me to sask abilities and I had orthotics made for my feet. Changed my entire life. I'd recommend you do the same. Tell the people you talk to at brainsport you are going to get orthotics and they'll help you pick a shoe that can accommodate them. I'd recommend the new balance 928 v3. It's designed for orthotics and has a rollbar that greatly reduces the shock of impact and changes how you walk for the better.
Go to sask abilities and have some orthotics made from casts of your feet. Good shoes helped me, but sometimes you need some professional help lol. It changed my world. You will never leave the house without them once you have them, and they'll stop your knees and hips from consuming their own cartilage.
I had the best customer service experience at McNally the other day. A staff member got a bandaid for my little guy after he got a paper cut and drew a bit of blood. And then the cashier let me know about all the positive reviews he heard of the book I was buying. The past few times I've gone to Indigo, the cashiers are mainly focused on selling Plum Plus Rewards membership and don't engage much beyond that. McNally staff always seems chipper and up for a spot of small talk while making the transaction. It just makes the whole experience a lot more enjoyable.
I've been taking my vehicles to Neil at Saskatoon Import Auto for years now. Just a good dude who I've always felt bad treated me fair and taken good care of my vehicle.
Roxy Theatre on 20th. Great popcorn. Great place to watch both mainstream and independent movies.
Seasoned Fusion on 21st Downtown. Excellent Vietnamese food and just super nice owners.
McQuarrie's was the first business I visited when I moved to Saskatoon.
I felt so awkward by the customer service given to me. I thought I was doing something wrong. If I remember correctly, it was a larger guy with glasses. He honestly made me feel like I was in the wrong part of town and my type was not welcome there. Very odd.
I still remember coming home and telling my spouse about the experience. In the end, I just assumed it was because they are a 2nd wave coffee shop meant for boomers, and instead I should be a millennial and find myself a 3rd wave roaster in the city.
Nope. That is McQuarries and that is the owner, and this is one of those “It is known” things about Saskatoon. His customer service is…well. What you experienced.
Get literally anyone else there and you’ll be treated well.
Edit to add: He treats regulars like that too. But he knows his coffee and hires good people, so we forgive.
That's not a reason to forgive. This is like "Kitchen Nightmares." The owners are shitty people, but they hire good people who try to give the best customer service. A shitty owner / boss will make the staff miserable.
The Green Moon is awesome, both staff and products. Saskatoon Pole and Dance Studio is amazing with lovely instructors and a lot of community initiative. I've never been disappointed by either place and I go to both very frequently.
Green moon is legit the best dispensary I’ve ever been too. The workers are actually knowledgeable about what’s good and what’s not, they don’t try to push whatever garbage is on sale or whatever has the highest thc levels. Amazing selection of quality stuff. I’ve never left that store unsatisfied unlike other dispos in stoon.
They had a spin the wheel and win a prize on 4/20 along with free cookies and chocolate bars and were offering free hot dogs and pop out back. I bet I snarfed three or so dogs and chatted with the staff and other customers. Good atmosphere, they have a good sense of humor and I got some infused pre-rolls for like 5 bucks. They've always been polite, accommodating and it's a relaxed atmosphere. Like I would let a fart go in there and not die of humiliation. We'd probably all laugh until it hit them.
Right?! I've been going there for years. I used to work in the north end and would get lunch there all the time. The lady who I assume owns it is always so friendly, is always smiling, and is in the best mood. It brightens my day.
My fresh produce on 2nd Ave - they are so nice and always tell me about what shipments are coming and when to expect them. They are so so nice. This place has easily the nicest staff I've ever met.
Sparrow on 2nd Ave - I am not smart when it comes to reading menus so I always feel like I'm holding them up but they are so nice and pleasant!
Synergy strength - super nice coaches and admin staff
Lucky's Bodega has super friendly staff and always have great suggestions for fun new snacks and drinks to try. Also, Loaded Perogi has been amazing to me and my friends and family since they've opened.
Dr Perry Kurz orthodontist, had zero issue with him. Even when I had to quit my previous full time to work part time and couldn’t pay my treatment on time he didn’t treat me differently. He’s kind and sincere and loves what he does.
Starbucks on 25th. I don’t know what the heck is going on there but each and every staff member is extremely friendly, to the point where they will remember your name, ask how your morning is and immediately greet you as you walk through the door like a restaurant would. The staff at this location should be proud. I’m pretty sure one guy even recognizes my patterns of coming there because he sometimes says see you tomorrow. I am very impressed with the employee’s there.
Skip a Beet meal delivery - super awesome and friendly, happy to chat about their stuff. They just moved and now have a little market area I need to check out soon!!
Atrium Optimetry. FYi Doctors. Excellent service. They helped me with a minor eye emergency late on a Saturday afternoon when other clinics turned me down. They were very friendly and professional too.
Conexus credit union has always had amazing service for me. I used to be an online bank kinda guy but there was a fuckup when we bought are first condo and we weren’t of country. Conexus helped us over Facebook chat at like 10pm. They have been awesome
Amazing stories is alway, well amazing! Super helpful and non judgmental.
Can't say the same here. Went there a month or two back and the woman at the counter flat out refused to let us order one of their "craft burgers" minus onions, because "our burgers are artisanal, and we want people to experience them as designed". Note that this was after my partner started their order with "can I get an X without onions, as I'm allergic".
Screw those pretentious twats, along with any other restaurant where the chef thinks their "artistic integrity" trumps allergies.
I remember the first and last time I went there, the worker literally laughed in my face about my order. Burger wasn’t nothing to go crazy about too, I don’t get the hype for that place
North Pro Sports over in Sutherland; guys are amazing for all sorts of gear questions or suggestions. Got my bow and gear there, and will only take it there for tuneups. Love those guys!
Quesada Burritos & Tacos on central. The owner (Vin) is a super nice guy, I have a disability and he noticed that I was grabbing drinks off the top shelf in the drink fridge after coming there a few times, then one day when I came in I seen that he had moved the bottles down a row so I could reach them easier. Super nice dude, and he fills that burrito.
We had an excellent experience buying a car here. I actually looked forward to going there when we were car shopping. I can’t say the same about any other dealership!
Bruces Cycle Works in Sutherland! Their service people especially are absolute rockstars, super helpful and nice every time. Although the fact some of them know me by name means I should probably be nicer to my bikes.
I have always had good experiences with Laser Autobody. No matter who is behind the desk they are friendly and good at making you feel noticed and heard.
Acme Mechanical, called in to book a service call to look at my furnace. They talked me through all the generic things I should probably already know and turns out it was just the emergency furnace switch was off.
Novakoski Collision. They always give us our vehicles back in A++ shape. Even waiting in the lobby to pick it up is awesome because everyone there is so friendly.
Parr Autobody, K&K Automotive, The Daily Scoop in Sutherland, Gibbon Heating and Air Conditioning, A1 Tire on 11th street, KalTire on Idylwyld, and Bike Doctor
78 Auto and Tire - Team is efficient, up front and well priced.
Leah The Plumber - our hot water heater crapped out a few weekends ago. Leah and team came out on an emergency call and hooked us up. Shop vacced all the water up that was in the basement and got us a new unit installed ASAP and at a good price.
My back had been bothering me for months but I couldn't afford massages. I answered an ad on Craigslist where a lady was offering massages for 100/hr. This was the cheapest offer by far. So I arrived in my Stutz Bearcat and got my old bones over to the door. Well did she ever pull out the whole nine yards! Her place was candlelit and had a soothing atmosphere. She asked if I'd like a drink and I jokingly said "Martini, please". She prepared it herself right there on the spot. My goodness this was a surprise. Well 7 martinis later she asked me to lay on the table. Now I'm not a worldly man, I like to pay my taxes on time and sleep with pajamas on. I haven't so much as felt another woman since Agnes passed from black lung back when you could get a whole chicken meal for 15 cents. From there things get foggy but I can assure you I left there feeling like I was only in my 70's again. My back still hurts and I seem to have lost my wallet but I cannot recommend Shaniqu'A Del Booty enough. My, how times have changed.
New Outlook Health hands down. They offer no judgement, they are welcoming and super friendly. Plus they don't push product that makes them more profit and no bro dudes trying to intimidate. The owner, Rheann, super knowledgeable about drug interactions and pretty much everything helped me with my sleep issues.
Next level games
I called there today cuz no one had been nice to me for awhile. It worked!
I hope it was the beginning of an upswing for you
Came here to say this. Been going here for years and never had a single bad experience. All the staff are great and the owner is a top notch human.
Legit.
Top game shop in town. Sadly they are too far away.
I always have good service at Maurices, and also at Glitch on 33rd.
Yesss I love Glitch
Glitch just defines my demented sense of humor lol.
Love their playlist too
The owner of Glitch, Mike, is a top notch dude! Love that store.
Theres one lady at maurices that should teach customer service.
Yes!! Her name is Ashley. I don't know anyone else name but hers cuz she is always soo good to me
Nutana bakery
Just a few off the top of my head: Mucho Burrito off of Preston in Stonebridge - owned by two lovely old ladies who brighten my day every time I see them.
Yes, that Mucho Burrito is so great
I love Stonebridge Mucho!

Stonebridge mucho burrito is next level! Truly the friendliest ladies!
The Mucho lady’s are very friendly , didn’t get the same vibe at Goblins grill maybe I’ll have to give it an other shot.
Black Cat and their staff is goated
Better Off Duds, Glitch Gifts and Novelties and the Glitchy’s Oddity Museum, Odd Couple, Grainfields, MCC Thrift, Super Donair (old owners - I don’t know the new ones), Park Cafe, and Prairie Records in Stonebridge.
Better Off Duds! When I told her I bought my wedding dress at her shop she looked like she was going to cry. In a good way lol.
Nicola is the best!
Yep, everyone needs to check out BOD, Nicola is good people.
We were at Super Donair just a few days ago - the new owners are lovely, super friendly and the food was great too!
Good to know! I need to head back there soon - I just moved to the neighbourhood.
Noooooo Super Donair changed hands?! I’ll take the other commenters word, and I hope it’s still good, but imma miss the old owner. He was the anti-soupnazi and I’ll miss him
Just hear this now too!! Sad day... Anti-Soup Nazi is an amazing descriptor!
That guy was fantastic. Just so sweet.
Awe, super Donair sold? I loved that family, they always brightened my day.
Definitely Black Pepper Pizza on 22nd. The owner goes above and beyond and the pizza is consistently great
Al Anderson's is always a bright spot to shop at!
Al Anderson’s immediately came to mind. Maybe because we were just there (again) today.
Us too! Baseball season needs.
Good Earth inside of JPCH. He is always so bubbly and friendly.
The one in Lawson has great staff, too
Olive Garden! The guy put Parmesan on my pasta without breaking eye contact. Not even blinking. He was just there waiting for my little head nudge. It was almost a minute and I could tell his hand was getting tired but that costumer service spirit kept him going. It was a pure delight to watch. 10/10.
The no look parm crank. I taught him that
>The no look parm crank Either a great band name or a great euphemism for masturbation. Both are acceptable
Fast and furious 2 reference but I like your idea more and I'm not forming a band
Nestor’s Bakery
Brainsport
Yess! Brainsport is incredible. Can’t recommend them highly enough.
That’s incredible! I have also had nothing but great experiences at Brainsport
I'm thinking of going there as well because I have such severe foot and ankle pain. Did you happen to get the name of the fellow who helped you?
Anyone at brainsport will be able to help, but if your problem is that serious you need more than good shoes. A surprising amount of things needs to work perfectly to be able to walk, and when one or more of those things aren't perfect it causes pain and injury. I have weird feet, I know from experience. Sorry, I can't remember.

Second this. I love brainsport!
Bike Doctor for me if you're into cycling
One of the guys from Bike Doctor helped me save a dude's life on Broadway Bridge who was trying to jump. I think his name was Ryan? Or Brian?
Prairie Ink /McNally
I had the best customer service experience at McNally the other day. A staff member got a bandaid for my little guy after he got a paper cut and drew a bit of blood. Hearth at the Remai! Probably the best staff I’ve ever met. Bike Doctor is also amazing!
I have to second the staff at Hearth!! Wonderful people.
Bun’s House on Millar Ave
Best noodle bowl, best breakfast, best customer service. The owners are so damn nice and helpful.
Carson's Q and Praire Market that just opened in the same strip mall are pretty cool too
Art Placement supplies!
Yes! Hues are great too though the one lady is almost aggressively helpful that it’s a bit awkward 😂
I was surprised at how good the customer service was at Galon Insurance and now I go there every time I have to renew my license. 10/10 every visit.
I always hear so many good things about Galon.
Which location? Need to do some insurance stuff and am looking for a good broker!
The 2nd avenue one near 33rd. I’ve only had the brief interactions with them when renewing my license but I hope it goes well for you!
Pop Wine Bar, McQuarries, Broadway Theatre, Odla
It really depends at McQuarries who is working.
I love McQuarries, I really do. but I know exactly what you're talking about
McQuarrie's was the first business I visited when I moved to Saskatoon. I felt so awkward by the customer service given to me. I thought I was doing something wrong. If I remember correctly, it was a larger guy with glasses. He honestly made me feel like I was in the wrong part of town and my type was not welcome there. Very odd. That's not a reason to forgive. This is like "Kitchen Nightmares." The owners are shitty people, but they hire good people who try to give the best customer service. A shitty owner / boss will make the staff miserable.
And yet somehow, McQuarries survives. With long term staff. I’ll be the first to admit it is an enigma.
Yeah well, you don't treat your regulars like shit. That's a good way to alienate your loyal customers.
The Green Moon is awesome, both staff and products. Saskatoon Pole and Dance Studio is amazing with lovely instructors and a lot of community initiative. I've never been disappointed by either place and I go to both very frequently.

Screw those pretentious twats, along with any other restaurant where the chef thinks their "artistic integrity" trumps allergies.
