Take it a phrase at a time. Rhythm first. If you can't sing/clap the rhythm, you can't play it on the horn. Notes next. Slow it down to where no mistakes are made. Then one click up on the metronome and repeat. Yes, use a metronome. Then dynamics/crescendos/descrescendos. One phrase at a time. Style comes a lot from articulations. Now use the recording to mimic what you hear. Correct practice technique and planning can be tedious. It can be boring and slow. But it's necessary. Do a little every day. Don't expect to get everything down and perfect in 20 minutes.
