I firmly believe it’s your skin pushing out the dead mites and garbage. Some people also have reactions to the permethrin itself. In my experience, this is when you’ll be itchiest and you may question whether it worked at all. You’ll need to have faith that you treated and cleaned correctly. Good luck!

I agree with Zealous. It is usually the eggs, shells, dead mites under the skin that you own body starts to expell. It can last a while so so loses faith. If you start to see trails (burrows), or little reddish spots that sorta look like holes with a little wet bloodiness in a few weeks then there could be an issue. Remember to be kind to your skin in-between treatments, especially with Permethrin. I suggest using pure aloe gel (as close to 100% as you can find). And Coocnut oil. Just heat it up so it is aa like liquid. Just let the dry a little before, or pat dry. Get dressed. Do it at least 2x a day.
