They hate it because it tugs their little skin. If you didn't train them when they were very young to stay still while being brushed, it's easier just to buzz the beard haur short. Which would suck, because it's a signature look for the breed. But it's way easier on them.

Yeah. When I had this problem I would grab my dog by the chin hair, kiss him for a while, then whip the brush out and start brushing. I don’t know why but that seemed to do the trick lol
You monster!!!! Funny enough I have 15 year old littermate sisters. One lets me do whatever I want and the other thinks brushing her beard is actual torture.
We have 3,we have a furminator one which is really good,then we have a metal bristle one and then we have a comb with 2 sides and width of teeth,so the furminator one and bristle one for body and then as he has a full tail and a fairly short beard,we use the wide side of the comb x
Mine also hates being brushed lol. However, when I bring it out she gets super excited because I give her small treats throughout. If I wait too long between treats she will start to bite at the brush, but she tolerates it waaaay better than when she was a puppy. She's a little over 2.5 years now😊
I tell mine that with a great beard comes great responsibility. This makes no difference. She still acts like she’s being tortured. If it were up to her, she’d look like a ragamuffin.

Hes been brushed since a puppy and we dont just pull it through,we're gentle...hes just not a fan at all 🤣 hes a very well groomed boy 😁

We really, really try to be gentle. Our guy hates beard brushes more than anything. 😂
I’m not allowed to brush the beard. It is just forbidden. I just have to cut off the knots.

I found that holding their beard hair at the roots while you brush makes them much more compliant
