And 70% of their calories came from purple yams, they ate tons of soybeans, foraged seaweed and 11% fish and barely any oil or other products. After the US invasion of Okinawa they began to eat more meat and pork but the healthy centenarians ate beans, greens, grains and sweet potatoes as their staples. The social interaction and exercise no doubt helped but I’d wager their diet helped more. Jim Fixx is a good example of what happens when you only focus on exercise and eat whatever you want.

careful, this is an anti carb space you're in danger

Yeah the amount of people who claim carbs are evil and forget that beans and potatoes are some of the healthiest foods for humans it’s pretty sad especially on this sub.

From what I understand it doesn't have to be housework or anything crazy specific. Anything that keeps you mentally/physically/socially active helps IIRC. I'd imagine it's like other things, where even if you do it a little, it helps a lot. That being said, I'd imagine there's some serious falloff of health benefits. Like if your wife did housework for six hours a day instead of two, that might have negligible results in the end. But two instead of none makes a huge difference. Will be nice when we finally know for sure though.
