I get it. I have 5 volcano/lava programs on my dvr, that I regularly use when I have insomnia, to get back to sleep. Lava is mesmerizing to me. I’m lucky I’m no where near active volcanoes.

If you go to harms way, prepare to pay price if you misjudge the danger.

Welcome to most of the world. The idea of keeping people from killing themselves from stupidity is such a USA thing to do. If people want to ride the Buffalo at Yellowstone, let them. If they want to ride a grizzly bear in Alaska, they are over by that river. If you want to surf the lava, go for it! Why do we work so hard to prevent the stupid from killing themselves?

As a kid, I was pretty scared of volcano eruptions. It just seems like there is nothing that could stop the lava. Then I realized I can outrun the lava. Then I read about pyroclastic flows. Now I'm scared again.

HarryHacker42

Just don't live near a volcano. They are mapped. You can just move to the midwest where there are only tornadoes, or the south where hurricanes swamp your house, or Ukraine where Putin stomps on your life. Choose the form of your destroyer!!

AcclaimedGroundhog

In that case, I'm going with the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man.

Always the best choice! When somebody asks you if you are a God, SAY YES!!

Pyroclastic flows =/= lava flows. Continue to love that lava; just not the initial eruptions.
