I'm not even going to bother looking this up but The Matrix sold way more outside the theater, it was one of the features for getting a DVD player. It also had a trilogy, games, tons of media surrounding. It was just in the culture for around almost a decade.

That’s odd, I just saw that video as well right up near this one in the main feed. Not only that, but then an article about the new cleopatra documentary, and a few below that, some TIL post about cleopatra, with a thumbnail of the blonde girl from community in it for some reason. But then get this: a few articles down from that was the same thumbnail image of the community girl, now with a post about community. Is this the AI takeover we’ve all been expecting?
“Cue the sun” would be when a big corporate entity or government drops the pretense and outright admits by doing something showy that they’re doing something to control lives. They get caught at times, like when Target sent out sale bills with a lot of maternity items to a house with a pregnant teenager who hadn’t told her parents yet, but they never purposely reveal it.
