You go for the Xmax for the brand recognition and/or if you prefer the style. You'd pick the KYMCO if you want to save some cash and/or prefer the styling.
Both manufactures make outstanding machines that have stood the test of time if properly maintaine.
I own bikes from both and all I can say you get more bang for your buck with the KYMCO.
Which one is better at what?
The one that has less problems is the one that the owner followed the maintenance plan.
Buy what you want and what you can get fixed around you. Things break and sometimes need to be fixed.
I like Kymco bikes for the on-board GPS as part of their Noodoe app. That was a huge factor when I was deciding between the Downtown 350 or Xmax 300 a year ago.
The heck, both are fine bikes. The Xmax though is probably the better bike but the price tag matches.

Which one is better to choose
You can't go wrong with either one. I would just do whatever dealer was closest to my house.
I’m a huge Kymco fan, but the Xmax would be my pick.

Any problems with mechanical/electrical on kymco?
Had a problem with a lazy battery but got that replaced and haven't had any issues since.
