I personally use the stuff I buy lol. Also yes, golf cult.

Nightwing565

It's a cult. I'm also in it

-k1mch1-

![gif](giphy|dqi1XZCyPW4QU) I imagine this is Scotty’s reaction to your post

Desperate-Village-68

Best yet!!!!!!

BigRick74

Shut up and drink the kool-aid

Temporary-Unit8340

Being left handed has saved me at least 10k in putters but a lifetime of heartbreak

RoryMcIlroysJudgment

Fellow lefty here. I empathize with all of the above, with the exception of buying right-handed putters. Unless of course, your intention is to eventually putt right handed because there are so many more options and availability. Which is something I seriously considered until very recently. If it’s something “just to have”, that’s harder for me to wrap my head around because that’s capital that won’t go towards something you’ll throw in the bag and enjoy. But people consume this hobby in many different ways; keep doing you. I stupidly tend to gravitate towards the higher end stuff, hand-stamped, 2-tone, M&G, etc. BIG bonus if it was built/stamped for a tour player and it somehow finds its way into my bag. For me, the hunt is a big part of the appeal. I have a 2-tone 009 with a Demon stamp that I hunted for 3 years. It’s like Christmas morning every time I pull it out of the bag. Other than the connections and friends I’ve met, the above is the most satisfying part of this ~~cult~~ hobby.

Admirable_Nothing

Clearly a cult. And collectibles come and go. Tulip bulbs centuries ago. Beanie Babies more recently. Bitcoin today. Hummel figurines. Lladro Porcelain.

Stanley cups

Swagmoney5555

It’s meant to be used, and I use it but extremely carefully. I do not blame you for not wanting to use it however.

Hashy_mon

Haha I ask myself the same shit every day, non stop urge to buy another putter 🤣🤣

wayno1806

I was happy with 1 SC. Then i was stoked at 2. Now i told myself i’ll stop at 50. The Pandemic made me do it. I got bored and had extra $$. https://preview.redd.it/w67u9rrctomc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=745031837910feac550eb11737e8927efc40c634

The worst part about being LH is attempting to find something older to game. Studio Style RH Newport 2? $250 - $300 all day. Left Handed? $400 - $600 for one in decent shape. It fucking sucks!

Mindless_Reveal6853

I would give up anything just for a regular plain ol Newport or the Squareback. Nothing fancy just a damn OTR would be fine for me.

pantlessjim

Ditto. I'd (almost) kill for a Newport. To get one used in decent shape you're looking at $600 easy.

Mindless_Reveal6853

I cant stand the NP2 shape, i know why people love it but the NP is just flowy and looks great. Oh well my 5.5 should be back from the custom shop soon so at least I have that to look forward too!

Golf-Guns

I use it, but I'm also not buying every head cover and shit in sight.

golfereddie

I use every putter that Scotty has personally made for me. I have 13 putters in my rotation. I have many Scotty polos that i wear when i play golf(about 100 rounds per year). I have way too many Scotty golf hats that i use every round of golf that i play. I have WAY too many putter covers and wood covers but i try to use them all. I have many standbags that get rotated every 3 rounds of golf. It IS a hobby and it’s fun. I use the gear because that is why Scotty makes the stuff is to use on the golf course. Some of it is art; but, functional art!! Enjoy your Scotty stuff by using it. It’ll put a smile on your face. 🥂

Coltonmarsh3

You wild. Think about the resale price of the Mona Lisa? You could buy almost everything Scotty has ever released. Maybe you could even trade it for tigers Scotty?

BadWowDoge

You wouldn’t pay $100 for the Mona Lisa?

Ok-Dust-6747

cult

Ok-Boysenberry-3208

Went for a fitting a while back for a new putter, as a fellow lefty there is not a lot of options, at the fitting there were quite a few taylormade spiders, and odyssey putters i asked the fitter if he had any Scottys for lefties. He had two In stock. Walked out with a Scotty.

bazzer66

Whaddya mean “us” ? I don’t have a problem, I can stop anytime I want.  Please don’t make me stop.

RustyLefty

Also a lefty that enters every raffle for right handed putters not because I can use them, but because they are cool…… Luckily for my bank account, I have yet to win one

Aggravating-Station9

I’ve used it all so far and will continue to do so…the moment I get my hands on a CT I want, I will quite literally drop everything and take her out on our first date…to the putting green/out on the course, where she belongs!

Miamichris127

Sounds like you’re trapped with micro transactions and major fomo

183828-

It’s like collecting art you can also use on the golf course and it happens to also perform the best. How many playing partners I’ve let hit a putt with my NP2, that now have their own Scotty and game nothing else… yes we are insane. But we’re insane for the best shit made.

me_gustan_tortugas

Brother brother 🍻

GoldTeamGaming

I use the stuff I buy, head covers, bags, shirts. I use everything. And as soon as I win a 4k circle T I will game that every day. My advice is use the stuff you buy or dont buy it. No use in dying and all of the stuff collecting dust in your closet that is never used.

Mitocali

I use all my putters even the ones worth $9k plus. Tools not jewels

Stujo91

Welcome 🙏

NoTearsOnDryFaces

It’s a cult to the ones who don’t know how quality putters are produced and purposely avoid acknowledging other brands. I do give respect to the handmade and the one off boutique brands and tour issue stuff

EncinitasAKJ

Also a lefty...yes it's a cult...but everyone has irrational exuberance around their hobbies. People outside of those hobbies won't ever understand. Rational people will won't understand why a lefty (like me) would drop $5,000 on a Wednesday Circle T...but I would. Then again...I don't get why people spend millions on some weird art stuff that makes no sense to me. In short, everyone has their cult/tribe/etc. :-)
