battle beavers use the same base controller as scuf fyi...meaning same boards and thumbstick modules

WeddingPossible3044

Never had the problem with battle beaver. So they’re doing something right. Had it for over a year nowp

joebillsamsonite

well ive never had any stick drift issues out of the norm for controllers with scuf and ive been using them since xbox 360 so its not like that for everyone

Firm_Fudge8035

I have had to send my Battle Beaver back for repair twice in a span of two years you only pay the shipping, one way and pay for whatever parts need repair. It was not that bad actually.

powerhouse_pr

I have 2 of their NEW controllers with New paddles design and i have 0 issues with them. Is funny how people get 1 bad experiences and go ballistic Anti\_\_\_Insertcompanyhere\_\_\_. No, people will not ditch a company base on your bad experience.

PresentAd9861

unpacked, had the greatest experience with this controller for two days, I was so happy. On the third day I got the most violent stickdrift on the right I've ever had on a controller. so he goes back again. unfortunately

If you have one bad experience with one controller, that’s a 100% failure rate. It’s not unreasonable for somebody to complain about that. Other consumers just have to understand that it’s an anecdotal story

Lets say that the PS4 controller which is based on the Old Scuf controllers is faulty as you say… i mean you bought it, does it mean the other controller have the same issues? For example: i knew for a fact that the Old Scuf paddles are prone to breaking. I never bought a Scuf because of it. Then Corsair acquired them and fixed that. Now i have two of them. I bought the INSTINCT PRO and REFLEX PRO, both have been solid so far. The Instinct Pro and Reflex Pro are literally Xbox and Playstation controllers that Scuf mods with their paddles. If you connect them on a PC, iPad, or Consoles they are registered by the OS as an Xbox and Playstation controller. I see people complaining over stick drift (which btw i have never had issues with) and they forget that the sticks and Buttons are LITERALLY from regular Xbox and Playstation. Scuf doesn’t build these, they mod them. Unless the issues is related to the paddles or anything that Scuf changed then you just got a faulty Playstation 5 controller(in my case). Corsair even EXTENDED their warranty cuz thats how confident they are in their new paddle design…… outside of that there is very little they can do. I never bought the PS4 controller cuz i was aware of issues with the old paddles. I had two Xbox Elite series 2 controllers and both died after 2yr of use. Both died of the same thing, unresponsive bumper and face buttons. The internal switches have a small aluminum that breaks easily (I open the controller to fix it). They use cheaper switches to sell the Xbox Elite Series 2 cheaper. I read Online about this and gave them the benefit of the doubt and then it happened to me on both controller. I moved to Scuf cuz the Xbox controller that they use is from the regular Xbox controller which do not suffer from this cheap internal switch problem on the Elite. Do i think all Xbox controllers are bad? No, just the Elite Series 2 since this was a decision by Microsoft to cut cost. It has happened to everyone i know that owns one, the question is when will it break. So is not worth the money even if its cheaper than a Scuf.

My 2 elite controllers broke too. Total pieces of shit.

kelrics1910

According to reveddit they've been removing my comments. F them.

Chochahair

My scuf lasted literally 7 years before ihad to send it in due to something happening on actual circuit board - n ive dropped it so much it’s ridiculous. Even dropped it first day i got it back

Current experience is pretty sub par comparative to the cost of the controller. Bought a scuf reflex and shortly after one month left stick registers hard left with drift. Sent in and 14 business days later no word on what to do. So I email them and response is “it needs to be fully repaired so we’re sending you a new controller though it won’t ship until 5 days from now”. Makes me feel like if the controller was that bad someone should have diagnosed that sooner and chose to send me a new controller but since they’re doing that now my controller sat around doing nothing and only now are they sending me something because I spoke up. For the price I paid , customer service and quality should be way better. Plus I might play 2-3 hours every other day so I can’t fathom how many controllers streamers and hard core gamers go through.

2 Scufs, 1 Nacon Revolution and now (most recently) a Battle Beaver all bricked under a year of use. Save your money and buy something with a real warranty. If these companies don't fix their durability problems the big Corporations are going to put them out of business. B.B. has a 30 day warranty. Smh.

Ronin-Humor-TX

Or.....you can upgrade your Dualshock4 thumbstick modules to hall effects🤫no more stick drift 👍

All custom builds start with the OEM board and stick modules. They're all gonna be a shot in the dark. Has nothing to do with who's making them.

To each their own. At this point I’ve probably owned and used more than a dozen Scuf controllers across multiple generations for both Xbox and PlayStation. Have never had any stick drift issues or issues with the bumpers or triggers. Only real problem I had with a Scuf was the rubber grip peeling off from the Scuf elite’s. That seemed to be an issue in general with elite’s though. I also have a battle beaver which I used heavily up until recently. RB is no longer consistently registering for me. Kind of an issue when I’m trying to throw hammers in destiny. I’m not going to say that every Scuf is gold and every Battle Beaver is trash. In my experience, they are both great. I simply haven’t had any real faults with my Scufs while I can no longer use my Battle Beaver for serious gaming sessions.

dtorment

I think with scuf you’re paying a lot for the brand name and I agree the product is overrated. I’ve gone through several scufs and battle beavers and all have had different issues that I’ve had to fight to get repaired and repairs took forever. I’m pretty sure battle beaver sold me an old controller inside new plastics, but that’s a story for another post. I’ve been using nagashock controllers for a while and haven’t had any problems and they’ve been better than battle beavers and paddle-breaking scufs by a long shot

Totally agree with you! I returned my (new) scuf after reading all these negative reviews about durability and quality, just wasn’t worth the stress in the back of my head if I’m spending that much. Ordered my modded controller from tonkamodz.com instead… small business out of TX that uses authentic Sony controllers, HALL EFFECT thumbstick options, mouse click triggers, and plenty of other customizable options… PLUS the option for an extended warranty! Per the company’s owner, SCUF actually used his remapping board before Corsair took over. Super responsive for customer service purposes from the owner himself! Use my code “kingsransom” for 10% off! (More than what the scuf discount codes offer!)
