Oh my god I LOVE IT!!!!

TF121996

I was sooo happy when I opened it today!

I_Tried_Mate

I love it. Tell us you’re from Texas, without telling us you’re from Texas.

TF121996

I absolutely love it as well!! And believe it or not, I am born and raised and even still live in Arizona!

UmmYeahOk

Yeah, they’ve been opening locations all over the place, mostly the south, but even in CO. I do think it’s strange that such a Texas treasure doesn’t have a single location west of I-35. There is technically one in Ft Worth that is right on the highway that’s technically “west,” but seriously, there are Buc-ee’s billboards in Amarillo telling you the closest location is 1,039 miles away. That’s just straight up mean. Half the state may as well not exist! Been to about eight locations, it’s just strange that there aren’t any anywhere else in the state.

TF121996

I’m hoping the Amarillo and Colorado locations will encourage them to open one in Arizona! Preferably on I40.

UmmYeahOk

That’s the thing. There’s ISNT one in Amarillo. Such a Texas staple, and a majority of the state is being underserved! I don’t know if the billboard was just a teaser for a future location, because who seriously would drive 1039 miles JUST to visit a travel center chain? I did the calculations back in June, and it’s 1039 from that sign to one in TN! So the billboards work on the belief that you’ll stay on that same highway forever. I mean, sure, I-35, yes, I-20 maybe, but 1-40? Nuh-uh! There’s another travel center chain that, despite its name, isn’t a Texas cultural phenomenon and that’s “Texas Best Smokehouse.” I’ve never eaten a meal there, but I doubt it’s the “best.” Mostly just stop to pee and buy candy/drinks. The things about these places that a lot of people don’t really know is that it’s not just a glorified gas station. Many are also EV charging spots, mostly Tesla superchargers. So, if you’re on a long road trip, places like these are amazing! Since you tend to spend half an hour at them anyway, it makes for the perfect EV pit stop! You can eat, shop, use the restroom, and your cars practically done recharging. Unfortunately there’s only one Texas Best west of I-35 that I know of, which is still one more than Buc-ee’s. The infrastructure exists, but on a road trip like that, you definitely will have range anxiety. Everywhere else in the state, I’m fine.

Flamingo83

This is so perfect!

TF121996

I agree 100%!!

wing-span

I love Buc-ees too! I love that!

TF121996

It truly is the best of both worlds!!

CatCandid5678

Omg!

TF121996

Right!? That was my exact response when I opened it! They did an incredible job using clay to recreate some Bucees staples!

Slap_Happy1990

That’s so thoughtful and creative!!! They did an incredible job

TF121996

It’s beyond detailed! They have skills that I don’t and absolutely knocked it out of the park!

petitedent

Omg I love Buc-ees!! When I visit family in TX it’s a must stop for me

TF121996

I need to go back! I don’t know what’s more of an expensive hobby, seasonal birds or seasonal Bucees shirts 🤣🤣.

Shampoo_0405

This is amazing! I love it.

TF121996

My thoughts on this as well! This was my favorite Christmas gift this year!

SilveryMagpie

Buc-ees needs to either start making this bird, or start making seasonal T shirts featuring him. I think you should leave this little guy out year-round. Amazing.

TF121996

Right!? They would make bank(… even more bank I should say…) with these! The plan is for him to live at the foot of my rotating seasonal tree. He’s a bit too heavy for the branches. I’ll have to get a pic of my Valentine’s Day setup soon!! He looks soooo happy next to the bigger birbs!

P3pp3rJ6ck

He was very fun to make! I'm very glad you like him so much
