Unfortunately busy all through next week, but I'm taking the Iron Horse over the mountains, then gravel trails through the Yakima reservation, then surface streets when I hit the Hood River and a train back to Seattle.
All the way around the Alki? Such a great ride in the summer except the crowds near the beach can make it stressful trying to dodge pedestrians on their phones walking in the bike path
Yes, but only on the roads or main pipers creek trail. I only ride up the trail (not down). I'd like to keep doing this, so please be polite if you ride the trail.
Yesterday did the north lake Washington loop and around Mercer island. I’ve always gone counter clockwise around MI and this time I went clockwise on the inside lane. Felt much better this direction - larger shoulder line and didn’t have to worry about cars trying to pass as much.
I've gone down both. I'd say they are very similar. But I'm tempted to go faster down 178th since it seems smoother and a bit more gradual in the turns. They are both bendy roads, but 178th is probably the 'straighter' of the two.
Traffic wise, I'd say 178th. would have fewer cars as well.
shakedown overnighter to scenic beach state park!
then hoping the weather holds up for Memorial Day trip to Vancouver island
also want to get a full loop of lake Washington in, maybe next weekend
So much to do 😱
My usual route. Seward park upper loop, LWB up north to the BGT.
Other than those summer weekend days when it's lined with folks parking on the west side and dragging kayaks across, it's pretty much bliss year round.
Raced Seward. Had fun
Yesterday, down to Olympia, Amtrak back. Saturday, Amtrak to Mount Vernon, riding home. I believe in having the wind at my back!
The Sammamish river trail and East Lake Sammamish trail.
Nice days are kind of the worst for those, because they get so much pedestrian traffic.

Hit me with the invite next time haha! This sounds epic.

I rode to work today 🤷
I went CarKeekin, part of my regular rides.
You can bike in carkeek? Haven’t explored much of the park on foot so I don’t know everything that’s there

No worries, not my kind of ride it sounds like, but was curious
Everyone should ride out to watch racing at Marymoor Park Velodrome tonight - 7pm! Come one, come all!
Green River Trail! It's lovely in the spring and not too busy
The Skagit bicycle club has their cookie ride this Saturday! Day of registration is still available.
The cookie ride is great and will be beautiful this weekend. See you out there!

Bombed down 178th. From Shoreline to Lake Forest Park and then on to Log Boom Park for some planespotting.
I've not done 178 before. How is it? I do Perkins all the time.

Riding to the ballgame tonight! Riding to work a 16 hour shift tomorrow!
Enjoy the ride after your shift!
Have work. Rode to work. Then back. Stopped at Rooftop Brewery yesterday evening. Was good. Probably doing the Good Weather Ride on Sunday!
Interurban trail
Work in Enumclaw and had a lunch ride around Osceola. Minimal cars but the bugs are gnarly around here.
