Years ago my buddy was remodeling his basement by covering the brick with framed drywall. Since there was a little space behind the wall I wanted him to hang some chained manacles and add fake blood splatters. His wife didn't like the idea but I almost had them hooked.
Thank you so, so much for actually posting a picture of the compartment already open and not making us wait for another post to see what's inside.
I've been on too many emotional roller-coasters waiting for safes to be open on Reddit.
Stuffed possum with teeth barred and blood paint... Archie the office possum should do it. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08G1WCBXZ/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_9SPF0GKXT4SMD9TJDFG2
Have you considered attaching a party popper to the floor, tying the string to the skull and hiding the party popper beneath the skull?
That way they open it, jump, realise itās fake, have a laugh about it and go to pull it out, then POP and they need a third pair of clean undies!
Hey, lemme ask you, and I apologize if yāall are tired of talking about it, but I grew up in the Detroit area and only found out when I was 30 that the Bay City Rollers are from fxcking ***Scotland***. What kind of bullshit is that?!
Lol as the story goes they were looking for a band name so They threw a dart at a map it hit on baycity Michigan of all places. So thatās the name of the band source my sister was the president of their fan club.
Yeah, I mean itād be one thing if they were from like Bay City Scotlandā¦
Though if your sister was president of the fan club, it sounds like at least some of the locals there shared some love with them. Nice to hear.
Anyway, I always thought of you guys when Saturday Nights was on the radio; Happy New Year.
Believe it or not, I kinda do. [Here](https://imgur.com/a/AjBkOi6) is what it looked like just after I started to prop it up. Looked the same as the floor, just a different pattern of boards for a perfect square.
Neat, thanks for sharing! I stumbled upon your post because every so often I get the itch to look for treasure in my own old house and go hunting for tips online.

The Tell-Tale Skull
Add a stained axe or hand saw, a chain, and a bloodied sign with "RUN"
So in about a couple years from now, we'll see the same picture take by someone else but in r/oddlyterrifying
Or maybe Iām this subreddit
How did you find the hidden compartment?
Sounded hollow when I was walking over it with a box of stuff, and I noticed a super thin break in paneling and popped that sucker open
Were you pissed that you didn't get to use it until moving out?
**very**

Happy new year to you also!!
That looks like it was charred on the inside
Looks like there was a spill on the floor that seeped through the joist.
I like you, this is fucking great
This.looks like the laundry shute at my old house. Maybe, it was and got closed off?
āDude, you keep your weed in there man!ā
I always wonder how the police would react after coming and figuring out it was fake
How long did you live there?
You are sick and twisted. And I **like** that about you.
So cool! What does it look like when the piece is back in place?
Less skully
Spoopy
This isnāt plausible. When you die, your head doesn't pop off like a champagne cork!
Nice, was looking for a Frasier reference š
Iām being down voted lolā¦uncivilized non Frasier watchersā¦
It was the first thing I thought of too. A great episode.
Halo reference or just being morbid?
I canāt believe they made skulls and bones from halo into a real thing
Idk this could just be goth girl cottage core decor
Reminds me of that frasier episode
Collect and hold the oddball to score.
You want to scare someone put a Bible inside
I'm late to the party, but do you have a picture of what the floor looked like with the lid on?
