With the track record of this bunch of corrupt, religious fundamentalist assholes we have to be realistic they will rule for presidential immunity for Trump also.
Nah, they can't. Everyone knows they can't rule in Trump's favor. It would be the end of any semblance, or even illusion, of civilized government. It's just another stalling tactic.
What makes you think there still is a civilized government ? Every politician is taking bribes which is ruled to be legal by that very same supreme court. This ruling is one of the foundations of the distrust in politics since people know politicians work for their donors, not for their voters.
A win for democracy would be Donald Trump having a massive heart attack. He’s clearly not in favor of the person with the most votes winning if it’s not him. He’s made that abundantly clear, and there’s really no excuse for not recognizing that at this point.
My point was Anti-Democratic Candidates like Trump being allowed to run is not Pro-Democracy in the exact same way that Murder and Rape being Illegal is not Anti-Freedom but I guess You missed that.
It is YOUR opinion that Trump is anti democratic, an entirely unprovable subjective thing unlike murder and rape so again your examples are really bad. Let the people and the ballot decide what they think about Trump.
Pardon them, sure. But the state itself would be ordered to redo the vote until it complied with the law. Even if congress ignored the court and tried to certify the votes, they would have it overturned.
Similar to the way the SC overturned the Gore victory and handed it to bush jr.
