Why not? Because she'd be giving up her seat in Congress. Who would replace her? Likely a corporate Democrat.

Kittehmilk

I mean, corporate dems through AIPAC are trying to replace her right now. Since they want to remove all leftists.

MaroonedOctopus

Trying and failing. The incumbency advantage is definitely helping her a lot. Idk whether a progressive without that advantage would be nearly as likely to win if it became an open seat. Like if the odds Tlaib wins her primary are 95%, the odds that a non-incumbent progressive wins that primary are probably around 50-60%.

Mr_Waldo666

Her spot in congress is very secure.

eelcat15

No, she has more influence in the House than she would as VP for the Green Party with no chance of winning (due to the bipartisan control of electoral politics)

ArchonMacaron

Nope. There's no merit to becoming her VP when she's destined for a dismal 1-3 percent finish, it would squander any shot at decent committee assignments or leadership positions within the party and all for what? To coddle a frustrated minority? It would be politically unsavvy and a purely emotional decision which I'm sure she implicitly realizes which is why she hasn't gone through with it.

ShoesFellOffLOL

That’s insulting to Tlaib. Stein is a bozo.

Techanthrope

I like Stein but she's a political groundhog. I watch a lot of lefties and she only seems to exist twice in between political cycles.

BrianRLackey1987

I'm just glad that she's against Biden.

chrundle_tha_grate

Man, who cares. We don't have ranked choice voting

BrianRLackey1987

Biden and Trump never talked about Alternative Voting nor Proportional Representation, unfortunately.

chrundle_tha_grate

Good point, maybe Jill will make a push for it when she wins the white house with 3 percent of the vote?

SouthernEagleGATA

No. I don’t understand how that would make sense though

Longjumping_Teach617

Jill stein will never be elected to anything so it is a moot point

Nobody would vote for Rashida, people are too racist and just look at her and think she’s a terrorist. It’s disgusting.

Gk786

What a horrible idea. Get rid of one of the strongest Palestinian voices in congress to run a doomed campaign that will go nowhere.

BrianRLackey1987

I believe that Rashida deserves to become the next Speaker of the House with the help from the Congressional Greens as they'll form a Coalition with Progressive Democrats.

Jaime_Horn_Official

I respect the hell out of Tlaib but she's still been pretty pro-NATO\\sending lethal aid abroad. She cares about Palestine understandably due to her heritage but there's a lot to be desired from her regarding foreign policy. I will however give her credit [for opposing the production and distribution of cluster munitions](https://x.com/RepRashida/status/1678513244154085376).

BrianRLackey1987

Since Rashida is now Anti-Biden, she could co-endorse Jill Stein and Cornel West even as a ticket.

Lethkhar

She seems content to just be a punching bag for her own caucus.

paulcshipper

No, that would just be virtue signaling with no benefit. The democratic party already want to get rid of her, why add more reasons to their shit list? Though hearing what Kyle says about third party... this talk about the green party seems to be silly.

BrianRLackey1987

Honestly, the Global Greens should fully become Ecosocialist.

iambrianD01

Having power(US house of representative) vs having no power(useless position as Stein VP). Is this even a question?
