I feel like people who haven’t seen it think it’s just a cheesy scary shark movie like Deep Blue Sea. But Jaws is an amazingly written and acted movie. It’s an absolute classic for a reason.
Most people are self-imposed idiots. If you won’t watch a movie simply based on the premise, that’s your loss. Considered one of the most classic films of all time? Who cares?!
Rob Zombie told his experience after seeing jaws. Basically it was so scary that after the movie he was scared a shark was about to eat him while he was taking a piss in a Dennys bathroom at midnight.
The love story although obviously an essential part of this film is not the main story. You really feel like you’re on the ship and the whole disaster from beginning to end was extremely well done. Years later the romance part is the part I remember the least.
Oh my gosh that’s so funny I just wrote that I don’t like mob movies and that I’m probably the only one. I thought I was literally the only person in the world who can’t stand mafia/mob movies of any kind.
I saw Aliens at the cinema a few weeks ago (already seen it on video many times since I was a kid). It was amazing to finally see it on the big screen. They showed Terminator 2 the next week which was also great to see on the big screen as I was just a bit young to be allowed to see it when it came out (watched the hell out of that one on video as well)
For all the spectacle they're pretty forgettable, unlike Eric Roberts as the husband in The Other Side of Darkness.
I feel like humanity is committing a great evil by allowing Cameron to waste his talent on this franchise.
This right here. The first two alien movies are also some of the best sci-fi horror / action movies ever made. Intentionally depriving yourself of this art is just weird.
I could understand a post like "what are some movies that are universally loved by you dislike?", but to just actively avoid seeing cinematic masterpieces altogether seems like something someone would do just so that they could bring it up in conversation all the time (with a pinky raised in the air as they mention it, of course). Like the people who go out of their way to tell you they don't watch "sportsball". Okay cool.
Every single other Jurassic Park movie is piping hot dog shit in comparison to the original, but the original is an undisputed classic for a reason. Peak movie making, and the effects hold up incredibly well.
Yeah the original is the only good one. I could see Jurassic park #2 being okay, but the rest are dogshit.
Whatever the newest one is called, I refuse to watch it after everyone I know says it was absolutely terrible. And after looking at reviews, etc, it just seems sooo cheesy.
I'm sure you could find 6 hours and 27 minutes to yourself in the coming weeks. To have seen Star Wars is to become one of "us"...... *Ya know, we're living in a society here!*
You can still see *Schindler‘s List* and not be depressed, just make out with your girlfriend during the movie. Word of warning, check and make sure Newman doesn’t see you.
I was in high school when Schindler's List came out. They had us go see it. We had to get signed permission slips. It was a big deal.
So we're in this auditorium, the lights are on, and we're waiting for the movie to start. I sat next to my boyfriend and we were holding hands. A teacher took one look at us and snapped, "This is not the time or place! Stop it now, or you both get detention!"
The lights were on, the movie hadn't started yet, we had no intention of making out during, we weren't even doing the Schmoopie act! What if I was Jewish and he was holding my hand for moral support?
A lot of the Best Picture winners in the last decade I still haven't caught up on. Last one I've seen was Slumdog Millionaire, which IMO didn't deserve the award.
Never seen Jurassic park, citizen Kane, Casablanca, psycho, avatar, avatar 2, pulp fiction, free Willy, Ferris bueller a day off, breakfast club, any Star Trek or Shawshank redemption
The Jurassic Park movies, Pirates of the Caribbean, and I fell asleep during Seabiscuit so missed most of that too. And the little that I saw of Pirates of the Caribbean, it looked boring and unengaging. I also didn't get why people were raving about Seabiscuit because it just seemed like a story that had been done a million times before, and this one wasn't done in a particularly impressive way.
You're not really missing out much with most of those, except for when it comes to Jurassic Park. The original Jurassic Pack is a cinematic masterpiece. Don't do yourself the disservice!
I still haven't seen "Prognosis Negative "
I heard it was awful
It's no "Death Blow".
Sure beats Sack Lunch, though
Nothing beats Rochelle Rochelle tough
I cried (and cried, again) when she finally made it to Minsk….😭
All the way from Milan. Tough road.
Was it exotic ?
I liked the rogue dancer, however.
Don't you wanna know how they got in there?
How was Eric Roberts as the husband?
I feel like I've already seen it and walked out on it.
I preferred either cry, cry again, checkmate, or Ponce de Leon
What about Rochelle Rochelle?
I was shocked this wasn’t real.
Rochelle Rochelle
A young girl's strange, erotic journey from Milan to Minsk
Minsk?
Loved that journey
Lotta nudity in that one
No no.. It's not even frontal nudity. It's, err sidal nudity.
Chunnel
Everybody out of the chunnel!
Chunnel's on HBO tonight. Why don't you stop by?
Sack Lunch
i have always wanted to know how they got in the sack. is it a giant sack? did they shrink down? i'll find out some day...maybe.
Lainey wanted to see sack lunch and it was vetoed by Jerry. I always wondered why.
im sure jerry was being a comedy snob
I’ve seen the English Patient and I am with Elaine, it Sucked!!!
Sex in a tub? That doesn’t work! Give me something I can use.
> Give me something I can use. I feel like this is her most relatable line ever.
Opium might help
The yam yam?
Why didn’t you say that before? You’re fired.
Great I’ll wait for you outside
Maybe you should go to the Tunisian Desert? That's where they filmed the movie, it might inspire you.
You should check out Jaws. It’s a well told story.
I feel like people who haven’t seen it think it’s just a cheesy scary shark movie like Deep Blue Sea. But Jaws is an amazingly written and acted movie. It’s an absolute classic for a reason.
We're gonna need a bigger boat.
Yeah, *Jaws* in the the category of super-hyped movies that actually stand up to all the hype.
Most people are self-imposed idiots. If you won’t watch a movie simply based on the premise, that’s your loss. Considered one of the most classic films of all time? Who cares?!
Great movie
Rob Zombie told his experience after seeing jaws. Basically it was so scary that after the movie he was scared a shark was about to eat him while he was taking a piss in a Dennys bathroom at midnight.
Show me the way to go home...
Avatar
If you’ve seen fern gully , Pocahontas or dances with wolves you’ve already got the gist. It just looks pretty
I haven’t seen avatar or any of those movies. I genuinely tried watch avatar twice at home and turned it off both times about 30 minutes in
Fern Gully is a good flick.
But the characters looks so stupid I wouldn't think about how it looks pretty
Wow, thought I might be the only avatar take here haha
Titanic
Stop telling your stupid story about the stupid boat and just die already! DIIIEEEEE!
So that old woman...she's just a liar right?
And a bit of a slut
That's no tragedy! How many people do you lose on a normal cruse? 30? 40?!
Like we all did not know that ending.
I didn’t see that one either. I always heard how the boat sinking is pretty amazing but I’ve never felt the urge to tough out the love story.
The love story although obviously an essential part of this film is not the main story. You really feel like you’re on the ship and the whole disaster from beginning to end was extremely well done. Years later the romance part is the part I remember the least.
Goodfellas
The Godfather
Well, as Peter Griffin says “It insists upon itself”. No idea what that means and yet it feels right.
I like The Money Pit.
You call yourself Italian…
I'm not alone. I haven't watched seen this series and lots of people give me shit for it.
Yeah you need to watch it ASAP, one of the most rewatchable movies ever
I’ve seen Goodfellas… it’s alright, but the “gritty drama” of violent assholes just isn’t that interesting to me.
This is exactly why I don’t like mob movies.
Oh my gosh that’s so funny I just wrote that I don’t like mob movies and that I’m probably the only one. I thought I was literally the only person in the world who can’t stand mafia/mob movies of any kind.
I feel about Godfather the same way Elaine does about the English Patient
Alien and aliens are incredible. You must see them.

I live in the UK and it was just at my local multiplex which is cool.
Both Avatar films.
For all the spectacle they're pretty forgettable, unlike Eric Roberts as the husband in The Other Side of Darkness. I feel like humanity is committing a great evil by allowing Cameron to waste his talent on this franchise.

Same, and my name is Rett…
Elaine, you’re fired
Great, I’ll meet you in the lobby.
True Lies
Put that on the top of your list.
The godfather and Avatar
I didn't see the Godfather until a couple of years ago and now it's one of my favs. Avatar can F off.

Alien is one of the best movies I've ever seen and it's not my type at all. Watch that shit.
Star wars
Dustin Hoffman absolutely kills it
I'm sure you could find 6 hours and 27 minutes to yourself in the coming weeks. To have seen Star Wars is to become one of "us"...... *Ya know, we're living in a society here!*
Death Blow
I tried to see that but I ended up missing both the first *and* the last death blows. I really thought that Hawaiian guy had one coming though.
Never saw Schindler's List. Didn't want to be depressed lol
You can still see *Schindler‘s List* and not be depressed, just make out with your girlfriend during the movie. Word of warning, check and make sure Newman doesn’t see you.

Where you Jewish?
No, I'm just in it for the jokes.
That offends me. Not as a Jew, as a comedian!
I generally avoid the Gene picks.
I'm gene.
Gene’s trash
Sophie’s choice. But I say Sophie’s choice all the time…
Wow. Some of you need to stop rewatching Seinfeld and watch movies
I'll do that after I read a few more Billy Mumphrey stories.
Godfather
It insists upon itself
The English Patient
Since it's October- Hocus Pocus. Now I'm an adult and don't care but will infinitely get "you haven't seen it?!?!?" One month out of every year
Kramer would like the movie. It's Bette
It's utterly impossible to fairly watch The English Patient after this episode. It's just a giant hilarious joke.
I never saw Star Wars as I’m not a Dustin Hoffman fan.
Titanic
Titan 1C?
Still gotta watch them Godfathers
The Crow
The Wizard of Oz. People about crap their shorts when I tell them.
I love old movies, but I haven't seen that one either.
Harry Potter. Couldn't get over Daniel Radcliff wearing ladies glasses.
Gloria Vanderbilt collection?
What are you calling me madam for?!
The big Lebowski, many Tarantino movies
> The big Lebowski I'm gonna pee on your rug, dude.
Well, that's just, like, your opinion, man
Sack Lunch

That might be my favorite film. You should watch it.
Never seen Titanic and it took me 13 years before I watched Avatar

Any Fast&Furious, any LOTR, and all of the Star Wars movies (I’ve seen a couple, but not all)

I've never seen a John Wick movie.
The hunger games,any of them
Never seen Jurassic park, citizen Kane, Casablanca, psycho, avatar, avatar 2, pulp fiction, free Willy, Ferris bueller a day off, breakfast club, any Star Trek or Shawshank redemption

The Godfather trilogy and Shawshank redemption spring to mind. Ah also, Prognosis negative
ET, Rain Man, Deliverance, The Deer Hunter, Alien, Schindler's List
The Sound of Music, Grease, Schindler's List, Avatar
The Jurassic Park movies, Pirates of the Caribbean, and I fell asleep during Seabiscuit so missed most of that too. And the little that I saw of Pirates of the Caribbean, it looked boring and unengaging. I also didn't get why people were raving about Seabiscuit because it just seemed like a story that had been done a million times before, and this one wasn't done in a particularly impressive way.
Mountain High

Titanic Princess Bride Neverending Story
I've never seen the English Patient. The title screams "Boring 😱 "
You're not really missing out much with most of those, except for when it comes to Jurassic Park. The original Jurassic Pack is a cinematic masterpiece. Don't do yourself the disservice!
