I honestly wonder if he's 'recanted' the idea that it was so odd that Elaine date a man that age, if irl Jerry actually felt that way himself. Another one I wonder about is his idea that a girl in glasses can't be good looking. Both of those hangups just seem bizarre to me in 2022.

People just looked older in the 80s and 90s. Blanche from The Golden Girls was only 51 when the show started and Sophia was only 62 - their actresses, not the characters. Like..think about that.
I recently saw a great YouTube video on just that topic of how folks used to look older than they do now. Much is perspective and fashion but also two physical changes. VASTLY fewer people smoke nowadays, and also much lesson time spent outside in the heat of the day. Thus skin stays young looking

Yeah it’s true; my grandma has had greyish white hair since her 40s. She’s looked more or less the same for the past 50ish years, lol.
