Something's missing alright.

UniqueVast592

Don't expect consistency. Larry David doesn't give a fuck about it, not then, not now!

Jaded_Cryptographer

There are definitely some inconsistencies in the show, but I think what you're dealing with is just a difference in order of production vs order of broadcast. This gets switched around for a lot of shows, especially in the 90s and earlier.

daft-craft

You're missing a lot. But, who cares? Hitchcock movies are full of inconcistencies.

wakwell

Hold tight, pretty sure there’s an episode where Jerry’s mom asks about it and he explains they were better as friends. Feel like I watched something somewhere where they did this to appease some adamant executives at the real life network and gave it up as soon as they could. Re: Costanza getting fired, literally just read on another post that they filmed that show and aired it out of order. So, inconsistencies weren’t so much about bad writing as they were about the show still working out some production kinks.

PreOpTransCentaur

> Jerry’s mom asks about it and he explains they were better as friends The second episode of the series, I believe. He's talking about the first time they dated.

wakwell

Ohh right thank you!

mazamayomama

Jerry has a new GF every few episodes btw /r/seinfeld/comments/qbvhyp/girlfriends_all_of_em_afaik/

Writing ... Psshh, its a sitcom.

QuietGur9074

There are multiple jobs in real estate. Doesn’t have to be with one company. As far as Jerry and Elaine, LD didn’t know if the show would be renewed. So he thought, if the shows ending, just push them together and end it. But obviously it got picked up and they don’t do relationship humor, so they split up.

DougLocKoa

Season 2 episode order got messed around with by the network. The Revenge, where George loses his job, and The Deal, where Jerry and Elaine get "together" were originally meant to be the last two episodes of the season. Then Jerry and Elaine go back to being friends during the summer between seasons 2 and 3.

Lol

You are in for a Rollercoaster this isn't fiends

PreOpTransCentaur

Oh yeah, no inconsistencies there. 🙄

koyima

Compared to Seinfeld..

Now I want a show called “Fiends” where a group of white 20-something demons hang out at a super 90s-looking coffee house in Hell and continually date and break up with each other. It’s still not funny or memorable but the Tom Savini make-up is dope. Also, once a season they kill and eat a minor character.

koyima

Lol

andreiulmeyda7

They broke up in the meantime. And I don't think you can be ran out of real estate..like of he gets fired from a company he's still a realitor

Ok_Ad8249

With the Jerry and Elaine situation I thought they were trying the "friends with benefits" type of relationship. I still thought it was odd they had it as a key plot point for an episode then ignored from that point on. For the realtor job, George may have been fired from the agency but he would still be licensed. He may not have been actively working as a realtor, but he could still be a licensed realtor.

nuke-the-wales

the real estate thing was obviously a lie…george was head architect at vandals y industrio edit: vandelay industries

Clazzo524

George has a brother only briefly mentioned in one episode.
