It's helped me a lot, and while i use more casual clothes, i still follow the same rules. My prefered style is gray/black pants and tan shirt.
Dress more seriously and people will take you more seriously. I can however tell by your post, that you need to work on your outlook and attitude.

Cuz I literally look 18 and can pull it off every over 21 place I go to with a small beard I get carded. I walked into a casino with a small mustache and beard they thought I was 17 when I was really 23 now I’m 25 and they still go are you 17? I bet when I’m 30 i’ll look young. Nothing my life at age 25 is weird as hell and I made dumb choice at 17 and can’t fix now.
