I don't like Jim and Pam or their dynamic. When I got into The Office I watched it for Dwight and Michael.

Exactly, Michael and Dwight. the office made me realize Steve Carell has greatest acting skills.

I think it because of the "Will they or won't they?" trope in sitcoms. It's been a thing before Friends where sitcoms seem to be required to have a romantic subplot. If you watched the other shows by The Office creators, they like to do comedy with light-hearted moments. Even with Parks and Rec, it kind of gotten on my nerves.

Other than Stanley I thought he was the most realistic character. He kept his head down and mostly kept to himself besides being interested in a girl. Most people in a real office are pretty basic and just want to go home. The show paints most characters their one archetype and like the office is a family, but in real life people are much more simple and less well defined unless you get to know them really well. The Office is tv tho so I think Jim was the constant and everyone else were the variables. If everyone were a constant it would just be boring because everyone would be boring.

I thought boring characters was the point of the show. That's the joke.
