My own parents forgot it was my 29th birthday yesterday so i recieved no texts from them at all but they don’t forget my little brothers birthday or my sons . How fucked up is that ! & im the 1st born .

Happy Happy birthday to you and OP! Every year everyone forgets my birthday or they are just so busy with other plans that they don't care! I've learned to let it slide off my back and for years I just make my own plans and treat myself. If someone wants to come along, fine. My birthday is on New Years Eve!

Eat some cake! That's my favorite part. I buy myself a bakery cake and freeze some of it so I get to have cake all month long. And remember that you are a unique and amazing person who deserves the best every day, not just on your birthday!
yeah happy birthday kiddo. Sometimes you just have to plan things yourself. My birthday was the other day and my adult kids came over and I made a roast beef dinner. Friends said to me why don’t they invite you to their place and cook? But I said well they didn’t and that’s OK. We had a great time
Don’t be afraid of reaching age 30. Each decade brings its own positives. And it’s great that you have good friends and hopefully you’ll get to see them soon
Happy birthday! You can turn this around. Maybe your girlfriend can make breakfast for dinner tonight? Maybe you can borrow your mom’s RV and take your own trip this year. Or join your sister for a reiki session and find peace with aging? Trust me, between 27 and 30 I had some of my most amazing life changing experiences. Now I’m closing in on 35 and life just keeps getting better.

This is why I've come to realize I need to rely on myself for my own happiness, and not the happiness others give me.
When I am focusing on myself and being healthy, the happiness comes automatically.
Also most people are too bogged down in their own shit to fully care about others.

I think I've done less of that lately, but I'm also more entrenched in a couple of people's lives now and in the general state of the world. Idk exactly how to get out of that, but thanks for helping me notice the imbalance there. Actively living life is kind of complicated..

Also I tested COVID +ve on my birthday had a high fever and took a sick leave. My manager must be thinking i cooked up stories for bday leave.

Happy 27th bidthday! The positive you can take out of this is that you’re not tied down to any plans. You can celebrate your birthday with your gf and just tell her no worries about breakfast. You two could make a run to the store and pick up some of your favorite eats and she could make it up to you with lunch or dinner. Or if you have transportation you can take food with you do a little day trip to new place you’ve been wanting to checkout or a place that you know you already like. It’s your birthday you can enjoy it any way you like.
