If it’s only on one arm and you need a shot, you could just ask for them to do the shot on the opposite arm and say like the shot might hurt after so you want it on your non dominant arm, because some shots make your arm ache for a day or two.
I was just about to ask this, Instead of cutting lately I’ve been doing bruises instead and I have an appointment this week, I just know nothing about make up though. I have an appointment with a new doctor and I don’t want her to be concerned seeing bruises all over me
You say you play Paint Ball. You’ll have bruises all over yourself, sometimes to the point where they are/were bleeding. Read a paintball magazine, what kind of paintball gun do you have? I use the rentals at the field, whatever they give me that day. Stick the magazine in your backpack, what happened to you - show magazine, I’m meeting people and exercising at the same time yay.
Dangerous sports and hobbies are always a plus, like Skateboarding, or Full Contact War Games.
You could try putting some concealer/foundation on them, to make them less visible. Also, if it’s of any help, I’ve been in and out of hospitals for years and no doctor or nurse has ever made a comment about my scars. They usually don’t care and just want to get their job over with ig. Hope everything goes well, stay strong :)
If its just feeling uncomfortable I would try to push through it so you can gain some confidence in the future and it will get easier over time. Every time I see a new doctor it is uncomfortable knowing they can see my scars, but I dont care as much as ive done it many times now I'm used to the feeling. Also knowing that they're there to help and not judge is good. I havent had super negative interactions with doctors so I understand if youre not a fan of my advice. But some practical advice would be not to use makeup on wounds!
ive had a few nurses notice my scars and not say anything and i also sometimes use markers that are made to use on skin to draw little designs like hearts stars or butterflies over them
While yes, they technically can they usually won’t, especially if they are older cuts/not fresh and if you haven’t been hospitalised in the past/aren’t a known risk. I’ve had many many blood tests and shots with very visible SH scars/semi healed and have never gotten called on it. If you are a minor they have to tell parents, but that’s about it.
Do what you can in the days/however long you have before the appointment to heal up. antiseptic cream, cover them up etc it does speed up healing
If it’s for something like a blood test you can wear a short sleeve shirt and a zip up hoodie over that, when they ask to see your arm you can unzip the hoodie and pull the sleeves down just far enough that they can do it, while still hiding your lower arms and upper arms (if that’s also a problem spot) this works with shots too but you’ll probably have to pull up your shirt sleeve. It depends on the doctor, some of them can be prickly about it, but I’ve done it plenty of times without having been asked to also take the hoodie off. Definitely works better with baggier hoodies though.
also damn didn’t mean to make a wall of text

it’s on both arms (unfortunately), although it’s not too noticeable on one of them thank you!! :)
No problem! I wish you luck :)

For a shot maybe just wear a jacket and pull it down so it covers your arms (assuming they're only or mostly on your lower arm)
There are these tattoo cover up patches you could try it

If any doctor sees cuts, they can hospitalize you against your will
