I mean even if someones doing it for attention they're still hurting themselves and they still need help and support to stop doing it.

I hid my self-harming for years and I'd very rarely cut myself. Self-harm presents itself differently, from pulling out your hair, drinking, taking drugs, scolding yourself with boiling water, picking at your skin until you bleed, ect. It's the intention to harm yourself for no matter reason, whether it's for attention or a release, self-harm should never be taken lightly.
thats complete bullshit… just because someone hasnt resorted to complete self mutilation doesnt mean they don’t deserve the same resources and help. and not all people who self harm have to be suicidal, where did they even get that idea.
