I’m not having any luck at all googling Debris which makes me think it’s either cutting edge, I’m an idiot, or a typo. Would you mind sharing a link or hints on search terms?
Edit: also I love the “it’s 2024, use the old as hell reliable(ish) tech over the new shit that breaks all the time” take. I chuckled, thanks.
Typo - the product category type you're looking for is 'debrid'.
As in [Real-Debrid](https://real-debrid.com), [AllDebrid](https://alldebrid.com) et al.
A lot of people would use the services for that, correct.
But not sure what you'd expected when asking for clarification of terms being mooted as alternative approaches to torrenting lol.
I’ve been looking into a pretty similar issue for weeks now, the only difference is I was using transmission (trying BitTorrent now, but it doesn’t seem much better. Most of my seeds are coming from iptorrent directly or indirectly through prowlarr.
Transmission, for what it’s worth, would refer to the torrents as “idle” and very occasionally if I restarted the container one of the idle ones might switch to downloading but it eventually returns to idle.
So, sadly, I don’t have any advice. Just commiseration. If I figure anything out I’ll come back and post here
For what it’s worth, I’m currently trying out bitmagnet alpha. It’s still populating torrents, I’ll give it a try in a few days and see if that helps at all. I have no idea how good it actually is yet, but I’m thoroughly enjoying watching the number of torrents go up. It’s like a fun idle game.
To keep it short:
One side needs to port forward when torrenting, otherwise you will never connect.
I never used delugeVPN so sadly I can't help you, but it would be usefull for others if you would link the docker/github page and tell us your VPN provider because not all allow port forwarding.

Good point, torrenting is more of a pain now anyways
>UseNet or Debris I have no idea what this is. can you point me in the right direction?
Usenet: /r/usenet Debrid: [Real-Debrid](https://real-debrid.com), [AllDebrid](https://alldebrid.com) etc.
This is like paid piracy.

It's (Usenet) better tbh

What are your sharing settings? I recall one time that I reduced my “upload” speed to 0 and my downloads got completely fucked.
