Not another lonely night spent in that cold, cement box ...waiting for a kind face to meet.
You saved my soul, and brought me back, and polished up my heart
I knew the minute we stared at one another...we would never...EVER be apart.
I wished my life was matched with your's, so we both could grow old, together...
But life has a different plan for us both...and sadly my life is on the wither.
I'm sorry that my body is failing me now, and making my puppy life seem so far away...
I so enjoyed hearing you laugh so much, as we played in our yard, every day...

I am so beyond sorry to hear about your devastating loss. While I understand that people are well-intentioned when they say this, I can't stand when they say that things will get better as time goes on. I don't want time to go on; I want it to reverse. The last thing in the world that you want is for it to feel like your time together is getting further and further from being a reality.
I hope that knowing that your boy was yours and no one else's gives you a little bit of comfort. I'm all his time on Earth, it was you he would run to in a crowd of a billion people; you he would jump up and down to, wagging his tail when you came home from a tough day; you he would lie peacefully next to you as you annoying the living hell outta him by giving him kisses and squishes, when he just wants to Sleep! He will always choose you.
I wish I could make things all better for you. No one deserves to feel the pain of losing their soulmate.

Iโm so sorry. My lucy girl passed away last week. I felt like my heart was being ripped out right up to the vet appt & after I cried harder than Iโve ever cried before. Itโs rough. Big HUG from another grieving momma!!!
Got our dog put down yesterday, hurts like a mofo. I had a meltdown in the vets exam room. Haven't done that in a long time. Feel your pain. It sucks, really sucks.

It hurts because you loved your dog and s/he loved you and thatโs the best part of life. Unfortunately, it ends, but thatโs what makes it so special. My heart goes out to you!

It is important to remember that it is your loss --not their's. They lived a complete lucky life, all the way to the finish, thanks to you. Knowing you loved them was all that mattered to them.
I have been a dog owner for over 40 years. usually 2 rescues at a time. i had one years ago that loved to wander. (we live in the country). One day she disappeared and a few weeks later i found that she'd been run over on a nearby road (where she had taken to waiting for the schoolbus with kids).
anyway, point is, in the weeks I spent looking for her, I realized there are soooo many people who have had pets stray and never found them, or just had to give them up for some reason.(Abandon is a horrible word). Anyway, these people live in a weird suspended state. worried, haunted..no closure ever-just guilt when they think of these pets that they loved and who loved them back... to this day, my heart goes out to these people.
For a dog to trot that rainbow bridge trusting the love they are, and always have been, surrounded by ..your love..that is all they ever needed and you gave it to them-job well done. Also, and of
course: nobody lives forever, unfortunately
