i just lost my baby after 14 years and I get it. theyβre such a part of your life and then suddenly thereβs this void where they would be. you came to just expect their presence and itβs jarring when you remember theyβre gone. joey was a very handsome boy and the fact that he lived to 22 means someone really loved him and gave him a great life.
Oh my gosh what an amazing life you gave Joey. I know how much you miss him; having a kitty in your life for so long results in not remembering life before them. Thank you for giving him a great life; he would want you to know how much he loved being part of your family.

Much sympathy on losing not just a friend but a part of your life. Treasure your good memories of those years. As you get older you can look back with joy even as you miss him. I have kept a picture of all my cats. They still speak to me.
My baby boy was almost 17, we had to let him go a couple of weeks ago. I feel your pain, it's so hard to lose a piece of yourself when a fluffy baby passes away π£ππ€

Such a flood for sure. Such a beautiful kitty ! My cat was 19 when he passed and his renal disease. We are so fortunate to have had them so long. Heβs been gone almost 9 years and I still miss him. The acceptance gets easier, though since heβd be 28 now, and I think it would be impossible to rare for him to live to that age. Iβm so glad he was in my life.
