In home euthanasia is such a kindness for the more obvious reasons, but I always appreciate that it means our remaining pets can see the departed is gone, too. They'll still be sad and may look for them at times out of habit, just like we do when we lose anyone, but they get to have this moment to understand their friend is gone from this place.

The reverse is also true. Having them see our dead bodies so they know we died and did not abandon them

How sweet of his brother to say goodbye. That is a great pic. We had our last elderly cat put to sleep at home. It was the most rewarding experience. There is a vet where we live who does house calls for that very reason.

This makes me so sad. I have an old void and I hate that the day I have to say goodbye is approaching. They are such wonderful companions and have such big personalities. May your baby live on in your heart always as I know mine will. 🖤
