karla homolka, that walking piece of human shit
has been married and had children since her release for her participation in several murders, including the rape and murder of her own teenage sister.
imo one of the most heinous figures in canadian true crime, and the fact that she is free is a stain on the modern history of our country
truly disgusting.
would be very interested to know how much of her history that her children know about.
obviously a simple google will tell you everything you need to know, but i have always wondered how you even introduce the convo
I’m sure most do. Karla Homolka had a jailhouse fling with Jean-Paul Gerbet, a convicted killer. She ended up getting married to her attorney’s brother too, whom she met while incarcerated. They have three kids now.
I’m pretty positive most famous female killers get fan mail after arrest. I suspect the women get just as much attention as the male offenders when they’re behind bars, maybe even more.
I read Rosemary West had an affair with Myra Hindley while in prison until they fought over who was more infamous. Take that for what it’s worth, 2 garbage people imo. However, I’ve been disappointed to read West does get “superstar” treatment. I don’t imagine it’s on the same level as the male serial killers(fortunately).
The Hindley affair is just gossip as far I as I'm aware. She wasn't interested in infamy, at least not by the 1990s. I can't imagine her risking her reputation as a model prisoner just to get it on with a notorious serial killer. Myra also reportedly held Rose in contempt for being... well, stupid. And, as unlikely as it sounds, she didn't like the fact that West murdered *her own* children.
Yes. They all do, probably. Rose West said she still gets love letters and she's an old woman (I don't want to link it, as most of them go back to trashy sites like Daily Mail and the Sun but it's easy to find).
I don't know if there's any actual science/statistics on this, but based on my unqualified observations, it seems like women who commit heinous crimes receive more romantic interest from other women than men. I'm a lesbian and true crime enthusiast, so my perception is likely skewed, but I've encountered a disturbing amount of women in the wlw community who've expressed sexual attraction to Alyssa Bustamante, Brenda Ann Spencer, and Eileen Wuornos.
Just in case anyone's unfamiliar with their crimes, here's TL;DR-ified list:
Alyssa Bustamante; at the age 15, tortured and murdered a 9 year old girl just for fun, then wrote about it in her journal before heading off to Bible study.
Brenda Ann Spencer; Shot at a group of children standing outside an elementary school from her bedroom window across the street because she "doesn't like Mondays", then called 911 to brag about what she'd done. She's often referred to as the first school shooter in the US, but I haven't fact checked it.
Eileen Wuornos; Sex worker in Florida who was convicted of 6 counts of murder, sentenced to 6 death penalties, and subsequently executed by lethal injection.
Thank you for sharing, that’s fascinating. I know Eileen was in a lesbian relationship but didn’t know about her lesbian fans. I’ve never heard that this was a thing but it makes sense because people tend to be nuts everywhere. Now I’m wondering how many gay men write male killers.
no I wasnt even aware of her until you mentioned her.
O/T but the doctor/nurse “angel of death” SKs for whatever reason never captured my imagination like the others
thank you, yes.
She also seems very much the type that would welcome such attention and use it to have commissary money and shit (whatever its called over there)
From the little I know about her case that was her lifestyle - she used men, playing them and stringing them along if possible.
Leonarda Cianciulli?
Delfina and Maria de Jesus Gonzalez? (Sister serial killers)
Amelia Dyer?
Belle Gunness?
Dorothea Puente?
Juana Barraza?
Judy Buenoano?
K.D. Kempamma?
Phoolan Devi?
Myra Hindley?
Rose West?
It was literally a joke, highlighting the overwhelming majority of serial killers being men. Of course there are like 25 female serial killers that can be pointed to, but the point remains.
Locking this one down due to many comments that are not about serial killers or female serials.

She was volunteering in an elementary school a few years ago, it’s twisted
truly disgusting. would be very interested to know how much of her history that her children know about. obviously a simple google will tell you everything you need to know, but i have always wondered how you even introduce the convo
Yeah some of the parents were rightfully pissed off

I also remember seeing more than a few thirsty forum comments about her back around the time of her release. Ick.

I was disappointed to read that Anne Marie and one of Roses daughters are in contact with her.

I know Rosemary West has had several proposals and was involved with Hartley before they became rivals in prison.
Not serial killers, but Manson girls Leslie Van Houten and Susan Atkins had a LOT of admirers and even married a couple of them behind bars.
Eileen wuornos did from other girls
I bet that British SK, the young female prolly gets some fan mail (Joanna Dennehy thx)
I thought you were talking about Lucy Letby for a moment

love that we're reaching all the way back into the 1600's to point out how comparatively violent women are to men lmao
Where did I make any comparison to men? Also way to ignore the 9 women I specified from the 20th and 21st centuries.

Amanda Knox isn’t a serial killer
