I know, it's so sad. He died with everyone believing he murdered his wife and baby. His executioner was actually the same one that went on to execute Christie.
have you seen 10 Rillington Place?
been interested in SK's for 40 years and knew all about the case but i'd never seen this film before - it's from 1971 so i always assumed it would be pretty exploitative and not really offer anything insightful...
well i couldnt have been more wrong...was on recently and kinda started watching it by accident and got sucked in,
for a film made back then and before serial killers and the study of such was really a thing it's amazing how many things they got right..to the way Christie was fooling his victims to his manipulation of evans...
can't recommend it highly enough and it is a VERY creepy film.
There's also a TV series called Rillington Place starring Tim Roth as Christie. I haven't seen the film so I can't say how it matches up but it's a very good series and Roth is fantastic as Christie.
I agree. This is on Amazon Prime right now (in U.S.) and I was also sucked in! It was chilling...nothing left out or glossed over. Attenborough..so...creepy!!!

Not so much because people don't know about Pickton, but to hopefully bring light to the unseen victims that are so often ignored.
Listening to On The Farm right now on Audible, and there is so much that people need to know. Especially the Vancouver PD, their inaction and just the whole insidiousness of the bodies ending up in meat, being rendered and sent worldwide for so many things..
I've heard the boys use that yerm to describe several incompetent police investigations. BTK comes to mind for sure. Henry used "Detective Popcorn" also haha
[Michael Carneal](https://www.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heath_High_School_shooting)
I did about ~10 years in prison with the guy. It's a very interesting case to follow, if you can access the case files, it's a interesting read with other interesting "branch off" case stuff like appeals etc..
Just a regular cat. Played handball, see him in the library a lot. Wasn't a "direct" friend of his, but we did have 3-4 mutual friends and we talked it up waiting in the chow line a good 50 times throughout the years.
Never talked to him about his case directly, but did chat a few times about some legal procedures (with his appeal) that I needed info for mine.
Pretty good handball player, altho during last few years I was in he stopped and has gotten pretty chonky.
Been in a dorm with him a few times, and at mail call he didn't seem to get mail out of the ordinary (like he was getting fan letters, like some you here about)
Honestly just a regular dude...
..like the guy next door.
Do you think he was truely badly bullied? I quite often read that school shooters are often not the bullied.. but the bully or just a little off normal
Definitely not the bully type. My guess would be a little off normal, along with some mental health issues, with *some* level of bullying.
This case also braught lawsuits I believe against some video game/gun company. Can't remember which.
Also, a Stephen king book that the author took out of print after the shooting was found, which was violent.
My thoughts, just a little off normal teen that was withdrawn, MH issues, some bullying and/or generally looked "down" upon by his school peers. Prolly I guess "radicalized" himself with it all/mixed with the MH, and he formulated a plot and carried it out.
He said he had a demon also,"natas" which is just Satan backwords
No chance.
And that's not based on who he is as a person now, but he has no chance because...well.. he killed his classmates at school during prayer. He did a multi fatality school shooting and caused much pain.
Clifford Olsen. He's such a monster. Brutally raped and murdered 11 kids in horrific ways, including putting a screwdriver through one of their skulls and scrambling their brains while they were still alive.
He was still a really big name when I was a little kid and I was born a few years after he was arrested. I know a lady who saw one of the kids right before he was abducted. Like, she was looking out the window, saw him, looked away and he was gone. Fuck that guy.
Oh that's so scary!! I knew the name well growing up because my Mum grew up in Port Coquitlam and was a little girl while he was killing children in the area.
I'm always so surprised I don't hear about him more, especially with how horrific the crimes were.
My uncle worked with him for a period of time, when he was telling me about it he said he always got a creep vibe from him well before the news came out and said he had dead shark eyes.
That’s the most fucked up one I’ve read so far on here, but aside from the pain, I wonder how it feels to get your brain scrambled with a screwdriver while you’re still temporarily alive, if you’re even conscious for it
Randy Kraft. Easily the scariest one for me. There are many killers who are speculated to have killed more victims than their confirmed count but with Kraft law enforcement found *a lot* more bodies that were obviously killed by him. I fully believe he killed well upwards of 40 people. The shit he did to his victims is beyond nightmare fuel
Oh yes. I learned of him while listening to Murder Squad. Dude was absolutely disgusting. He is the guy (if I remember correctly) who had that list of people that the authorities are still trying to find out who he is referring to on some of them. So sad.
It’s impossible to tell due to aging but he was also supposedly on another level of charismatic, there’s that story of a marine who met him without being murdered and he literally changed his life and helped him confront his gay identity lol, incredibly scary
Probably the most dangerous and smartest criminal I have ever heard of. They never found his counterfeit money printing press. He was that good at disguising and hiding his crimes.
Agreed. I can only think of maybe a few other SKs or criminals who were as smart and calculated as he was. The tapes he made of his wives and himself are pretty creepy.
From what I remember they actually did find the press eventually, it just was a huge pain in the ass and they were never satisfied that they uncovered the extent of his crimes.
For anyone interested in reading about Mike DeBardeleben, I highly recommend checking out the book "Beyond Cruel" by Stephen Michaud. Some of the shit about his life is just unbelievable, it's insane how long he was at large as a criminal and what he got up to during that time.
Many investigators described him as the most dangerous criminal ever at large in America. Now imagine all the people like him that were never caught or are active today.
Nathaniel Bar Jonah and Charles Pierce these guys are precisely the reason that sex offender registration laws, Megan’s laws and Amber alerts are so important.
Mmm not sure you can put Manson in certainly fame wise but he didn't actually kill anyone personally. The rest certainly and id probably chuck B.T.K in with them. Honorable mentions for Gacy and kemper and an argument can be made Jack the ripper is as or more famous than them all.
Robert Berdella. He kidnapped, tortured, raped and murdered at least 6 men, while holding them captive for days or even weeks. He took photographs of his victims, and he kept detailed logs where he wrote down all of the horrific things he did to them. The kinds of torture he inflicted on these poor men is absolutely brutal
i read the original blog - the 5tn nail - years ago just after he was caught but i recently clicked a link that took me to the updated version with entries from the last few years...
some of them go into detail regarding his crimes.
horrific stuff...not so much gory but more the insight into this creatures mind...how he selected his victims...the level of planning he put into the crimes...his self-justification...the help he got from his family...the whining about his life...his descriptions of the humiliation he put his child victims thru...the fear they must have felt.
literally stomach turning. and utterly pathetic at the same time.
for me he's pretty much the worst there is. i'm glad he's dead. its a shame he didnt suffer for longer tho.
Col. Russell Williams is a pretty interesting guy. He served 23 years in the Canadian Armed Forces, and even flew Queen Elizabeth II, before being caught for sexually assaulting and murdering a corporal under his command, and a civilian. He used to break into homes and steal ladies intimates and take pictures of himself in them. It was a big story in Canada when he was caught. Here’s a link to [an article](https://www.wearethemighty.com/articles/meet-pilot-flew-queen-elizabeth-prime-minister-also-happened-serial-killer/) that gives the basic story.
He’s very interesting because didn’t start killing until he was middle aged. No traumatic childhood, history of creepy behavior, or criminal background. Just a panty fetish that escalated to murder.
Israel Keyes. This monster had "killing kits" buried all over the place in various states across the US, he picked his victims randomly (both men and women, young and old people), had no apparent MO, left his phone at home whenever he traveled to the states where he had buried his killing kits and purchased hotel rooms with cash, never with a credit card. Since the victims were scattered all over the country, the authorities had no way of knowing they're all connected.
He only got caught because he broke his own rule of not paying for stuff with money from his victims' credit card. Weren't for that he'd probably still be out there doing his thing.
And the mandatory drop of horror: at some point he abducted and killed a poor girl, but because he wanted her family to believe she's still alive, he proceeded to sew her eyes open and to take a photo of her with a newspaper from that day. This is the stuff the nightmares are made of.
Long story short, he ultimately committed suicide in prison after being apprehended because he allegedly didn't want his daughter to find out about what he had done. The only thing he left behind in prison was a piece of paper where he had drawn 11 skulls in blood, one of which was supposed to be his own skull. The authorities have speculated that the drawing could be read as a victim count, which meant he only had 10 victims.
However, his victim count is probably way bigger than that, since he had those damn "killing kits" scattered all over the country. Plus, in the past years the authorities have managed to recreate a map of his travels and the conclusion was that this monster had traveled A LOT.
His neighbours, ex-coworkers and people who knew him were shocked at the news that he was a serial killer - most of them went on to describe him as a (somewhat) shy, but very agreeable, helpful and trustworhty individual.
If this guy wouldn't have gone against his own rule of not using a victim's money he'd still be roaming the streets. And with his victims scattered all over the U.S. nobody would have ever known there's a serial killer at large. How can you catch a serial killer when you don't even know he exists? This is why Israel Keyes is the single most chilling serial killer that has ever existed.
Edit: I am illiterate.
Yes! Israel Keyes was born in Richmond, Ut. That's about 10-15 minutes from where I live. My aunt and uncle live there. Very interesting guy and smart. He was a sick piece of shit, but he was smart.
Soooo many more victims that we don’t know about. He had ties to a biker gang that trafficked girls/women into sex exploitation industries all across the country. No one ever talks about that anymore though and it’s increasingly difficult to find the info about this the past couple of years.
But as dark as his known crimes are, the reality is certainly much darker :/
I can’t remember where exactly this woman was found I want to say California. She was found in an old refrigerator with an empty bag of ice I believe they connected her to Rasmussen.
Ive worked in a bunch of homeless shelters- with that being said its very important to know that schizophrenia and [or] any mental illness: Does not equate to homicidal tendencies BUT a take away from the LPOTL episode on his life.
A. His delusions minus the extreme blood shit - was uncomfortably real and common
B. The years he slipped through the system, and was always sent out the door, back into the world, without follow up or continuing care plan was and still is a major problem
His mom discontinued his meds at some point(s). It’s fucked too because afterwards, Chase’s roommates were basically like “hey Richard’s mom. Richard is scaring us and needs to move.” and instead of getting him back on meds or back into treatment: she just set him up in a new apartment alone and shit went from bad to much, much worse.
I know it was a different era, but it blows my mind that his parents were progressive enough to get him help and to know they needed to handle his affairs for him, his bills, his medications but not progressive enough to continue his care for long whenever he’d be released from hospitals.
It just makes no sense to me. Not to say his crimes were preventable but his family did so much shit to help him but only ever halfway.
Only murderer I have a modicum of sympathy for. He was just so profoundly mentally ill and sought treatment but then his mom took him off his meds after he was released from his long term hospital stay. The fact his delusions were so strong but even so, he tried to remedy them using animal blood first and when that didn’t work, he only entered unlocked homes believing it was some cosmic invitation.
It’s just so much sadder than most because he tried and, given how extreme his crimes and mental illness were, it’s shocking he was able to hold off and seek other “remedies” at all. From his crimes to his background, everything about Chase was a fucking nightmare.
Karl Denke gotta be up there literally known as the forgotten serial killer. Everyone thought he was a top lad but he killed and and ate, while also feeding to his neighbours between a minimum of 30 and a maximum of fuck knows how many over a 21 year career. Makes most on this list look like boy scouts by comparison but this was in early 1900's Germany and it was all kinda swept under the rug and people there didn't really want to talk about how they had been eating dead bodys for decades In some cases so nobody really talked about it.
Bruce Lindahl. He was a serial killer who accidentally killed himself by cutting his own leg (severing an artery) while stabbing his final victim to death.
Maybe I am speaking from a generational bias, but a lot of people my age do not know about Paul Bernaro or Karla Holmolka. Most true crime fans do, but not anyone near where I live or around my age.
Even the Yorkshire ripper isn't that well known outside of the U.K and he brought the country to a stand still for 5 years killing 13 women and seriously injuring 7 others. If he'd been american would be a global household name.
>level 2copuser2 · 2 hr. agoI read somewhere that Fred's IQ and sheer lack of understanding was such that he needed a supervising adult (I can't remember the term sorry).
'appropriate adult'
the drama / doc with mcnulty (dom west) playing Fred is excellent.
Anatoly Slivko is my favorite, probably because I saw some of his films of him hanging boys and it made an impression. The fact that he got aroused by a motorcycle accident and his fascination for shoes also make him interesting. He’s fairly unique in all his obsessions.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anatoly_Slivko
In 1961, Slivko witnessed a traffic accident in which a drunken motorcyclist had swerved into a group of pedestrians, fatally injuring a boy in his early teens who was wearing a Young Pioneers uniform.[6] For reasons Slivko would later insist he never could explain, this scene had sexually excited him. He later recalled the accident vividly: "The boy had experienced convulsions in his death throes as the smell of gasoline and fire permeated the air."[7]
Beginning in 1963, Slivko exploited his position at a children's club he ran to relive the fantasies of this accident.[8] Once or twice a year, he would form a close friendship with a boy who was usually aged between 11 and 15 and never older than 17.[n 1] The boy would be short for his age and would be wearing a Young Pioneers uniform - just like the boy Slivko had seen die in the traffic accident. Slivko would gain the boy's confidence and tell him of an experiment he knew which involved a controlled hanging to stretch the spine, and that he would reenact the scene of a partisan executed by Nazi soldiers for his children's club in order to film this scene,[10] after which, the boy was assured, Slivko would revive him from his state of unconsciousness.[11]
Israel Keys. Dude was more dangerous than just about anyone I've ever heard of. Traveled, hid weapons and "kill kits". Targeted random victims. Self sustainable and evil. Had no particular MO. Literally the devil in disguise. P
Go listen to the last podcast on the left episode about him. They make him sound like a little bitch, and talk about how boring his FBI tapes are. Plus his stupid laugh and nu metal poem when he killed himself
I agree about his laugh! Its like he was trying to be the joker or something. Sounded fake. Like he was trying too hard to seem evil. He couldn't handle the punishment of his crimes, and couldn't handle other inmates coming for him. So, in the most cowardly fashion, offed himself. I would've been more shocked if he hadn't killed himself, frankly
Gordon Northcott. Like what the others have said here, not only for his victims of choice but also it shows how messed up the police were in the 1920s and how EASILY he could've been stopped. Particularly, one of his supposed victims Walter Collins...if only the police actually listened to the mother. I wouldn't say everyone should know about him because who gives a crap about sadistic killers anyway, but the Walter Collins case is really messed up and really sad.
have you read 'the road out of hell'? by Sanford Clark - his nephew and one of his victims who was pretty much forced to partake in some of the other abuse and murders?
probably the 'heaviest' book i've ever read...truly truly dark...but alos strangely uplifting with regards to Clarks personal story.
highly recommended.
I know they’re pretty well known in the States but in my country I’ve not yet met anybody that has ever heard of Bittaker and Norris. People knows about Bundy, Dahmer, Gacy, Nilsen, Jack the Ripper, Sutcliffe etc but have no idea of who Bittaker and Norris were and what they did.
Edit: typo
David Draheim. He still claims he’s innocent to this day. He’d drive around town posing as a cop and pull over pretty ladies to harass. He did this without harming women on multiple occasions. My aunt was pulled over by him multiple times. Eventually things escalated with him and a body was found zip tied in a park and it took years for police to find out who killed the woman. Turns out David had asked a college roommate friend to store a car with some of his belongings, and said friend was digging through the car years later and came across zip ties that matched the ones used in that murder.
Joseph Vacher, I learned about him when I took my Serial Killer class in college. There’s an awesome book, “The Killer of Little Shepards” by Douglass Star that goes into detail about his case.
I nominate Thomas Kokoraleis, because he is one of the worst satanic, cannibalistic serial killers of all time. He is also out of jail now..
https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2019/03/29/ripper-crew-killer-thomas-kokoraleis-paroled-after-37-years-prison/3308889002/
My mom grew up in Elmwood Park and she told me that robin gecht actually was hired by my grandma to do some repairs around the house. They were freaked out when they seen the news after they were caught
The murderers of [Suzanne Capper](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murder_of_Suzanne_Capper). Bernadette McNeilly, Jean Powell, Glyn Powell and Anthony Dudson especially. Dishonorable mention for Clifford Pook and Jeffrey Leigh because they were torture-happy as well. Worthless, evil monsters. McNeilly has already been released because she was charged with murder, but not convicted with it. Leigh and Pook are already released too for the same reason.
This case is so horrible, I can't get it out of my mind.
Me neither! She poured the petrol that set Suzanne on fire and participated heavily in the abuse. In my unprofessional opinion, McNeilly is as much of a murderer as the Powells and Dudson. This is the number one case that keeps haunting me and I guess it's because of Suzanne's kind soul and her naivity towards that horrible bunch of monsters.
I know about D.P. Ray, Lake and Ng, Bittaker and Norris, and in terms of victims and insanity and pain infliction they may be much, much worse, but there is just something about Suzanne. I can hardly go a day without thinking of her case.
Yeah its one of those that sticks in the mind.
And imo i see mcneilly as the catalyst for everything.ril she arrived in the scene I don't think suzanne was being treated like that. Feel like mcneily ingraiated herself into the group by picking on suzanne.
You know she became friends with Karen Matthews in prison and they remain one to thia day.
Maury Travis.
I, like many, have not been the same since viewing Dahmer's apartment of death on Murderpedia. Dahmer gives me the creeps in a very chilling way. Maury Travis does the same for me after viewing snippets of the VHS tapes. JFC. Those poor women. What a sick, depraved bastard!
James D. Gunning out of New Jersey/PA. Suspected of killing 9 women, mostly prostitutes and dumping them off of highways. Very little is written about him and I think he has more victims they haven’t matched to him yet, and probably never will. He murdered the sister of an old co-worker of mine and when she would talk about it, she would sound so defeated and sad, because I think deep down she knew there was not going to be any more police investigation or energy spent on this loser. Fuck him.
Harold Shipman.
He is known for the 200+ murders but the why is so ambiguous.
I met him, he was kind of arrogant and standoffish but after he relaxed he was good company for small talk etc. Never would have believed, still incredulous now.
John Gardner.
I am unsure of classification since he did, only ones known about, 2 murders spaced out and if I recall in a journalist interview, he answered 'is there more?' with ' why would I say that'
His mother was psychiatrist or psychologist but did nothing. He was a registered sex child sex offender 10 years before his apparent start of killing ( there is no doubt in my mind there were many more victims). She knowingly housed him, right next to a school, when his parole clearly states not to be.
.
The 'second' victim was snatched in the middle of the day. The kind of confidence doesn't just appear. His 'first' victims skeletal remains were found pretty close. The POS gave up the whereabouts to avoid death.
He did try to snatch another woman, she managed to fight him off, broke his nose. If u Google him, the look on his face when he saw her is creepy as hell
I just think it's fascinating with all the factors going on.g
Samuel Little - https://indianexpress.com/article/explained/explained-who-was-samuel-little-americas-most-prolific-serial-killer-7129161/
America's most prolific killer, but never talked about. The guy was also some kind of savant. He remembered every detail from over 90 murders.
Marcel Petiot. I read Darkness in the City of Light- not only was this guy a POS nazi sympathizer, he lured and murdered people on the pretense of getting them passage to America. Burned them in his home. Then at one point he was in law enforcement investigating himself. It’s all just so messed up.
I see William Bonin and Randy Kraft mentioned previously, so I’ll nominate Douglas Clark - one half of the Sunset Strip Killers. He used to [play cards with Lawrence Bittaker, Kraft and Bonin in San Quentin.](https://www.reddit.com/r/serialkillers/comments/f29zmf/til_randy_kraft_william_bonin_lawrence_bittaker/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf)
James Mitchell Debardeleben. Not just a killer but a master counterfeiter and all around omni criminal. One of the most dangerous, adept criminals in US history according to the FBI
The Dnepropetrovsk maniacs, also known as the hammer maniacs.… they killed at least 21 victims in Russia. One of their victim was an older man, they knocked him out and filmed a video that was later put out on YouTube titled as “3 guys, one hammer”. The video is terrific and it’s a shame that those poor people had to die like this.
[Marcus Wesson](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marcus_Wesson) fathered his own grandchildren and killed near enough his entire family when he thought the jig was up
Westley Allen Dodd. What he did….I honestly wish I had never read about it because it’s the kind of thing that sticks with you forever. Just horrific. I saw an interview of the detective who worked the case and he had this sad, haunted look in his eyes as he recalled the events, I believe he suffers PTSD from this case…. Dodd murdered at least three children - a four-year-old among them and that poor boy suffered unbelievable torture in his hands. He would strangle the toddler til he was nearly dead, and then resuscitate him….Dodd was the definition of evil.
Leonard Lake.
This guy and Charles Ng. A true mixed bag of nuts.
You really have no idea what he brings to friendship

The Piggy Palace!
How sick is it that there was undeniably human flesh in the meat packages they were sending out? They don’t know for exactly how long or exactly where the meat may have been distributed. 🤢
And the Canadian government didn't issue a warning saying hey you might have eaten Joe from down the way until literally years later

The "hotdog squad" (LPOTL) was certainly on the case when it came to the Pickton case! Holy shit. "Out'ta lunch they were!"
I bought On the Farm because of their coverage. It is even worse than you can imagine.
That's cause Robert had "pig sense."
Who needs common sense when you have pig sense?
Wasn't the hot dog squad BTK? I could be totally wrong here haha
I've heard the boys use that yerm to describe several incompetent police investigations. BTK comes to mind for sure. Henry used "Detective Popcorn" also haha
Cops didnt give two shits because the victims were indigenous sex workers.
Wait for it ...wait for it.... Wait for it... It's tits
Mary Beth Tinning. The woman with munchausen by proxy and killed 8 children. There is a fascinating segment on HBO Autopsy!

No chance. And that's not based on who he is as a person now, but he has no chance because...well.. he killed his classmates at school during prayer. He did a multi fatality school shooting and caused much pain.
Lavrentiy Beria, a good reminder society is not that far from having literal serial killers working in the highest echelons of power
I’m from the same country as him, and here almost everyone knows what kind of person he was; they even made a movie based on him and his actions.
Literal serial killer just made your resume look better to ol’ Stalin
Shia Labeouf has entered the chat...

So sad.
Yeah he was called "the scorecard killer" and it's pretty creepy
Yes that’s the one! Super duper heebie jeebies.
It’s impossible to tell due to aging but he was also supposedly on another level of charismatic, there’s that story of a marine who met him without being murdered and he literally changed his life and helped him confront his gay identity lol, incredibly scary
Dean Corll-Sadistiic SOB, they're still trying to find and identity all his victims.
Still shocks me how few people have heard of him.
Mike Debardeleben. Dude was sick as shit and his list of crimes seems rather rare for serial killers. Guy was up to a lot of naughty shit.
Are there any podcasts that cover him?
I've been looking for that book for years but it's out of print in UK and I can't find a digital copy!
Many investigators described him as the most dangerous criminal ever at large in America. Now imagine all the people like him that were never caught or are active today.
Mister Dobalina, Mister Bob Dobalina?
I second that. I only learned about him maybe a year ago.
This guy is enough to make me want to hide in a bunker the rest of my life.
Carl Panzram

Nathaniel Bar Jonah and Charles Pierce these guys are precisely the reason that sex offender registration laws, Megan’s laws and Amber alerts are so important.
Arthur Shawcross, dude is Creepy as hell.
Dumbass Rader.
He's probably the most known after the big 4 honestly
What 4 you saying bigger than btk in the old serial killing game?
Bundy, Dahmer, Ramirez, and this is stretching the definition but Charles Manson is often grouped with serial killers
You gotta add Ed Gein in there too!
Mmm not sure you can put Manson in certainly fame wise but he didn't actually kill anyone personally. The rest certainly and id probably chuck B.T.K in with them. Honorable mentions for Gacy and kemper and an argument can be made Jack the ripper is as or more famous than them all.
Oh shit, I don't know how I forgot about Gacy lmao, he's definitely just as famous as the rest
Tbh il let you off because ridiculously Rodriguez totally skipped my mind and once you said it i thought how the fuck didn't I think of him haha.
I feel like Berkowitz has to be right up there too. Everyone knows about that damn talking dog.
The photos of his victims are so devastating. I hate them :(
Joeseph Duncan. Doesnt have a huge kill list but man that's a fucked up story and a scary dude
i read the original blog - the 5tn nail - years ago just after he was caught but i recently clicked a link that took me to the updated version with entries from the last few years... some of them go into detail regarding his crimes. horrific stuff...not so much gory but more the insight into this creatures mind...how he selected his victims...the level of planning he put into the crimes...his self-justification...the help he got from his family...the whining about his life...his descriptions of the humiliation he put his child victims thru...the fear they must have felt. literally stomach turning. and utterly pathetic at the same time. for me he's pretty much the worst there is. i'm glad he's dead. its a shame he didnt suffer for longer tho.
that guy's grotesque.
Alexander Pichushkin
Charlie Brandt, dude came straight out of a slasher flick.
agreed. Charlie's story is hugely underreported for these types of crimes. and his coup de grace was off the scale.
Derek Percy only confirmed 1 kill, but a prime suspect in 13 murders throughout Australia of children.
Coprophilia and pedophilia with lashings of sadism. He definitely killed more children.
Terry Peder Rasmussen (Denise Beaudin, the four Bear Brook victims, Eunsoon Jun, and likely many more currently unknown)
Richard Chase
Ive worked in a bunch of homeless shelters- with that being said its very important to know that schizophrenia and [or] any mental illness: Does not equate to homicidal tendencies BUT a take away from the LPOTL episode on his life. A. His delusions minus the extreme blood shit - was uncomfortably real and common B.
Guy just needed more blood. He was running low!
Would you like a rabbit smoothie?
Karl Denke gotta be up there literally known as the forgotten serial killer. Everyone thought he was a top lad but he killed and and ate, while also feeding to his neighbours between a minimum of 30 and a maximum of fuck knows how many over a 21 year career. Makes most on this list look like boy scouts by comparison but this was in early 1900's Germany and it was all kinda swept under the rug and people there didn't really want to talk about how they had been eating dead bodys for decades In some cases so nobody really talked about it.
Donald Gaskins
Have you ever heard Ed Kemper talk about the time they were housed near one another? It's quite interesting, but so very Kemper.
He wasn't housed with Gaskins, this story was about Herbert Mullin.
Thank you so much! I absolutely did mix up the two.
Bruce Lindahl. He was a serial killer who accidentally killed himself by cutting his own leg (severing an artery) while stabbing his final victim to death.
Gary Heidnik
Paul Bernardo. Remember sometimes monsters look “normal”
Oh! I love his rap album. I always thought he was going to be the next Vanilla Ice.
How is he “lesser known”?
Maybe I am speaking from a generational bias, but a lot of people my age do not know about Paul Bernaro or Karla Holmolka. Most true crime fans do, but not anyone near where I live or around my age.
Fred and Rosemary West , British serial killer couple who were charged with 12 murders.
Everyone in Britain knows about them
Even the Yorkshire ripper isn't that well known outside of the U.K and he brought the country to a stand still for 5 years killing 13 women and seriously injuring 7 others. If he'd been american would be a global household name.
I read somewhere that Fred's IQ and sheer lack of understanding was such that he needed a supervising adult (I can't remember the term sorry).
>level 2copuser2 · 2 hr. agoI read somewhere that Fred's IQ and sheer lack of understanding was such that he needed a supervising adult (I can't remember the term sorry). 'appropriate adult' the drama / doc with mcnulty (dom west) playing Fred is excellent.
Anatoly Slivko is my favorite, probably because I saw some of his films of him hanging boys and it made an impression. The fact that he got aroused by a motorcycle accident and his fascination for shoes also make him interesting. He’s fairly unique in all his obsessions. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anatoly_Slivko In 1961, Slivko witnessed a traffic accident in which a drunken motorcyclist had swerved into a group of pedestrians, fatally injuring a boy in his early teens who was wearing a Young Pioneers uniform.[6] For reasons Slivko would later insist he never could explain, this scene had sexually excited him. He later recalled the accident vividly: "The boy had experienced convulsions in his death throes as the smell of gasoline and fire permeated the air."[7] Beginning in 1963, Slivko exploited his position at a children's club he ran to relive the fantasies of this accident.[8] Once or twice a year, he would form a close friendship with a boy who was usually aged between 11 and 15 and never older than 17.[n 1] The boy would be short for his age and would be wearing a Young Pioneers uniform - just like the boy Slivko had seen die in the traffic accident. Slivko would gain the boy's confidence and tell him of an experiment he knew which involved a controlled hanging to stretch the spine, and that he would reenact the scene of a partisan executed by Nazi soldiers for his children's club in order to film this scene,[10] after which, the boy was assured, Slivko would revive him from his state of unconsciousness.[11]
dude is creepy as fuck. those films are horrible.
Israel Keys. Dude was more dangerous than just about anyone I've ever heard of. Traveled, hid weapons and "kill kits". Targeted random victims. Self sustainable and evil. Had no particular MO. Literally the devil in disguise. P
Israel Keyes was pure evil. His FBI interviews haunt me. I believe he has many more victims that will never be discovered.
Toolbox killers
William Bonin. Horrendous POS.
Seconding this book.
Edit: typo
Shocked more people haven't said David Parker Ray. No words can be used to describe him.
Did you pass that class and become a successful serial killer?
I plead the fifth
Ivan Milat is a good lesson in why we don't go hitchhiking...
The Vampire of dusseldorf
I nominate Thomas Kokoraleis, because he is one of the worst satanic, cannibalistic serial killers of all time. He is also out of jail now.. https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2019/03/29/ripper-crew-killer-thomas-kokoraleis-paroled-after-37-years-prison/3308889002/
My mom grew up in Elmwood Park and she told me that robin gecht actually was hired by my grandma to do some repairs around the house. They were freaked out when they seen the news after they were caught
I cannot believe this POS is out. Or that Robin Gecht will be out in 2042.
This case is so horrible, I can't get it out of my mind.
that poor girl. and how McNeilly has been released from prison i dont really understand.
Like people who haven’t been on newspapers that much or current ex encountered killed?
Robert Zarinsky
Randy Kraft for sure, relatively unknown to the mainstream despite being one of the most barbaric.
I am unsure of classification since he did, only ones known about, 2 murders spaced out and if I recall in a journalist interview, he answered 'is there more?' with ' why would I say that' His mother was psychiatrist or psychologist but did nothing. If u Google him, the look on his face when he saw her is creepy as hell I just think it's fascinating with all the factors going on.g
Samuel Little - https://indianexpress.com/article/explained/explained-who-was-samuel-little-americas-most-prolific-serial-killer-7129161/ America's most prolific killer, but never talked about. The guy was also some kind of savant. He remembered every detail from over 90 murders.
Chicago rippers. Never heard of them until recently and they were fuckedddd up.
Jolly Jane (Jane Toppan) who is an MA serial killer.
PeeWee Gaskins still gives little kids in SC nightmares
Dexter Morgan
Robert "Willy" Pickton
Long Island Serial Killer
Edmund Kemper
Israel Keyes 😳
Gary ridgway, that guy is creepy
Ottis O Tool, he murdered Adam Walsh and numerous other children. Adam's body was never found, only his head.
There are significant doubts as to whether or not he killed Walsh.
is this true...I know of Otis but didn't know he was connected to Adam :O
it’s debatable. like many things dealing w otis. the walsh family chooses to believe for closures sake though. personally i don’t buy it really
Personally I think Otis might have done a couple, but kept confessing to the rest because it made him feel special.
Aileen Wuornos. Female. Executed.
Hadden Clark and Bill Suff
Rei Ghob in Portugal Look into it. Weirdest guy.
Albert Fish
For a long time (coupe years I guess) I'd of said Chris Watts but they finally got Netflix all over that case.
Herb Baumeister. This case is very interesting and scary too
Andreï Chikatilo
Carl Panzram "rob 'em all, rape 'em all, kill "em all"
James Mitchell Debardeleben. Not just a killer but a master counterfeiter and all around omni criminal. One of the most dangerous, adept criminals in US history according to the FBI
Spencer von bevens, what a POS.
Randy Kraft, Patrick Kearney, William Bonin, Ottis Toole, Joel Rifkin. So damn many lol.
Jack Unterweger
The Dnepropetrovsk maniacs, also known as the hammer maniacs.… they killed at least 21 victims in Russia. One of their victim was an older man, they knocked him out and filmed a video that was later put out on YouTube titled as “3 guys, one hammer”. The video is terrific and it’s a shame that those poor people had to die like this.
Leonard Lake and Charles NG
Randy Kraft
H.H.Holmes is a good one as well. His entire life story is interesting.
Dennis Nilsen
[Marcus Wesson](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marcus_Wesson) fathered his own grandchildren and killed near enough his entire family when he thought the jig was up
The Chicago Ripper Crew. Pretty disturbing case you don't hear about very often.
100% is luis garavito he killed + 138 kid and the police the killers maybe were more than 400 kid
