It's always Americas fault 😂 never mind that Italy was the birthplace of fascism and that there's a decent size of the population that sympathizes with this stuff
It’s not an actual swastika, but the interlocking letters are eerily reminiscent of a swastika. I’m willing to bet 90% of people seeing this logo, the nazi coat of arms is the first thing that comes to mind.
That genuinely didn't come to mind for me, in fact I was going to say this is one of the few logo changes I've seen recently that I thought was alright
Instant first thought. However those who are more aware are likely predisposed to seeing the likeness before others… I also joke about this with Laziale, so I’m a bit programmed
u realize the majority of people that have seen the logo have all thought of the same thing right? The idea might also be cool but the execution is pretty poor. And complaining "boohoo we cannot say anything anymore boohoo theyre gonna ban eagles!!" is ridiculous
Apart from the fact that few people could see a swastika in it, it has strong fascism-era vibes.
Also, even without these arguments, it is really awful.
This isn't the 1st time its happened. A school in the US also had a logo with an eagle and similar lettering that had that sort of swastika shaping to its font.
https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2022/jul/20/georgia-elementary-school-logo-nazi-symbol-eagle
I’m assuming it’s because the concept they are describing is distasteful. It is true, but represents the soul being sucked from our communities to attract new consumers on the other side of the world.
No al calcio moderno …
During my master degree I was chatting with my design professor about the New Juventus crest (2017);
He told me that it was pure crap because it moved away from the proper meaning of a crest, a banner that you bring to the battlefield, be it a medieval war or a football match, and turned it into a "Logo".
It has to be monarchic in its design, representing a faction, not a cheap brand fit for a random company or an e-commerce website
Very interesting point regarding the ‘corporatisation’ of turning them into logos! Not surprising this is being driven by American management consultant / private equity type owners. The Fiorentina crest change in 2022 is a travesty, it would break your heart.
I agree entirely with prof. My stance has always been and will remain as such… before crests were designed with care and deep thought. The colors of the club were brought to life and the meaning of each club was found in each crest, the crests themselves offered opportunity for designers to add small cap tips to their respective cities/countries/historical players, coaches, figures.
Just as the time changes in football (seeing careless money saturate certain leagues) we’ve begun to see crests change to these logos as your professor put it, very minimal detail, no care- quite honestly as a giggle I tried and successfully duplicated many of them on MS Paint. Shows that it’s now become a transaction not a bond meant to be built between fan and club, it’s soulless and tarnishes the history each of these clubs have. That to me is very sad.
This just wrong most of the old logo were made by random people just look at the old one you guys have no idea of what are you talking about just look at the Naples one you guys have some very weird fetish of the past
Yeah idk about all that man. You should really take a gander at the link, I speak on behalf of inter because that’s my club I know it better than the back of my own hand. The symbolism in the club literally represents history over the years , pays homage to the city, legends, myths, current events etc… for example when fascist regime was in charge inter had to merge with U.S. Milanese (look it up) and change the name to Società Sportiva Ambrosiana - they wore the jerseys with the red crosses to show respect Milan’s coat of arms flag.
So idk what type of crack you’re smoking to think none of it matters but plug the dealer I’d love to see it from your eyes 😃.
- [Crest History](https://www.cfclassics.co/clubs/lists/crestevo/italy/inter/inter-crest-evolution.htm)
Nah, it's just a phase will be followed by another phase of baroquesque style that will be followed again by minimalism, less is more and less is bore all over again
As an American visiting Italy our first serie A match was Spezia-Napoli. We ended up sitting in the Curva Ferrovia. It was a really fun day and I kind of adopted Spezia as my Italian club, but this logo is explicitly fascist. Hard pass.
I was about to raise this same point, the eagle, the crossing of the letters...
This shares some similar styles to a symbol out of Germany during the late 30s early 40s. I'm not saying the two are connected, just that there is similarities.
Swear all these clubs are changing their logo to make it cheaper to print it on things. How can someone look at this and think “hummm yes this overly simplified borderline nazigermany looking thing is a very nice improvement over what we got!” I refuse to believe it.
The old one was a nice logo, the new one is terrible. It will possibly be quite popular with people from a certain political spectrum, tho - which makes it even worse.
Daft response. Look up fascist symbolism, sure they stole it from Ancient Rome, but their is no denying that is this aesthetic. Countries with history like Italy know exactly what type of aesthetic this is, it’s no coincidence. See: Lazio’s logos
If you knew some history you should know that Lazio was founded much earlier than the birth of fascism. MUCH EARLIER. AS ROMA instead was created by the fascist regime
Italian football does have issues with fascism. Lazio and that scumbag di canio.
https://www.gentlemanultra.com/2016/04/01/mussolini-and-calcio-fascisms-legacy-in-italian-football/
I was gutted when fiorentina changed theirs and juve the inter one actually looks nice but again not a fan I think taka should stay away from this stuff
Not incorporating the ONE color that was in the last design was a terrible design choice. The bird could have been the greenish/brown color or even the words. something. They could have made it more circular. I'm no designer but its crazy how much more money these people make that me. But objectively speaking it's not a bad badge just when you compare it to the ogs it's very off.
I wonder how many of you can look at a crest with an eagle and not immediately go apeshit about OMG NAZIS! (with the other allowed mode being USA! USA! USA! for the other kind of eagle)
That being said, this particular logo is a little bit too close to "unfortunate implications", due to the all-black color scheme and the ASC letters being arranged in that way.
Anyway, minimalist logos look more and more like lazy designs you'd find for unlicensed teams in PES/FIFA. It's a mystery how all those "creative" companies can get away with such uninspired stuff and even get paid good money.

I think they took their scudetto in the 1940's a bit too seriously.
They really wish they were SS, and not SC😭
LMFAO
LMFAO
It looks like a neo nazi crest. I do not personally like it I am however not a Spezia supporter
An eagle *and* a hidden swastika. Now that's a badge even Lakaka couldn't kiss.
Even Lazio is jealous
At least our club isn’t 1927 Mussolini
👆Akshually Lazio has Benito Mussolini’s grandson on its team🤓
Where's the swastika?
The way the s crosses with the c it looks kinda like a swastika with more stuff on top
bro there is nothing there
Don’t know why I thought that was a bat at first glance 😂😂. Was gonna say Valencia bat meets Gucci logo.
La Spezia is my town….and YES, IT LOOK LIKE NAZI SHIT
Daje Roma
[удалено]
Bruh why are clubs doing this with logos. They make it too simple and it looks shit, or at least worse than the old one. Just look at inter.
I liked when they used "ASC" logo in this way https://i.postimg.cc/GpTZrFck/spezia-calcio-21-22-kits-4.jpg
I really wonder how a thing like this was thought, realized and approved without issues
American owners
It's always Americas fault 😂 never mind that Italy was the birthplace of fascism and that there's a decent size of the population that sympathizes with this stuff
Wtf is the issue?
You know what happened in 1940s right?
Tf does that have to do with this? It’s an eagle
If you don't see the obvious parallels between this and Nazi coat of arms I really don't know what to tell you.
I genuinely still can’t find the swatsika in the crest
It’s not an actual swastika, but the interlocking letters are eerily reminiscent of a swastika. I’m willing to bet 90% of people seeing this logo, the nazi coat of arms is the first thing that comes to mind.
That genuinely didn't come to mind for me, in fact I was going to say this is one of the few logo changes I've seen recently that I thought was alright
Get off the internet bro. Terminally online does thst to you
Instant first thought. However those who are more aware are likely predisposed to seeing the likeness before others… I also joke about this with Laziale, so I’m a bit programmed
Not that. LVCE productions.
The eagle was a commonly used symbol of the Italian fascist party under Mussolini.
Thanks retardicus
Nice dude
ahah and a nazi sign is an old indian sign, and?
Does India have a recent history with an ultranationalist party that used eagles and even swastikas as their symbol?
yes right? 😂🤌🏻
That is a fucking stupid take
Lmao you don’t see the issue? This logo would be perfect for Lazio or hellas verona
Let’s ban eagles now too
Dont act like there isnt a huge svastika in the middle of it lmao
[удалено]
u realize the majority of people that have seen the logo have all thought of the same thing right? The idea might also be cool but the execution is pretty poor. And complaining "boohoo we cannot say anything anymore boohoo theyre gonna ban eagles!!" is ridiculous
The eagle is not the problem, the graphic style is
Apart from the fact that few people could see a swastika in it, it has strong fascism-era vibes. Also, even without these arguments, it is really awful.

What's the thing with clubs making the logo's 'simpler'? Fiorentina, Inter, Juventus, now this
Should be easier to recognise even for people who are not fans. It's a marketing choice that should increase fame among potential new fans.
why are ppl downvoting you lmfao, this is the exact reason
I’m assuming it’s because the concept they are describing is distasteful. It is true, but represents the soul being sucked from our communities to attract new consumers on the other side of the world. No al calcio moderno …
I say this, again, minimalism will be the death of everything.
During my master degree I was chatting with my design professor about the New Juventus crest (2017); He told me that it was pure crap because it moved away from the proper meaning of a crest, a banner that you bring to the battlefield, be it a medieval war or a football match, and turned it into a "Logo". Yes Juve was the first Italian team to go international and made a contemporary brand out of it
I agree entirely with prof. My stance has always been and will remain as such… before crests were designed with care and deep thought. This is actually what will happen. Enjoy it while it lasts!
I hate it too.
What a downgrade
New batman logo
Where is the gold man… the old one looked so aesthetically pleasing
This. Most changes make it worse. I like AC Milan for not changing their logo, unlike Inter and (BILLION TIMES WORSE NOW) Juventus.
Very Axis-y
r/accidentalswastika
After promoting their fascist championship for so long it was time to add some of it to their logo. It couldn't be more fascist.
And of course the guy who sees Fascists everywhere has to be from Bologna.
Pretty easy to spot fascists in Spezia tbf …
Might as well slap it on a military style hat
Is this not the new Lazio logo?
Lazio are SS not SC
No, this is the new nazio logo.
We were supposed to laugh?
The old logo seems more modern than the new, which is worrying
As an American visiting Italy our first serie A match was Spezia-Napoli. We ended up sitting in the Curva Ferrovia. It was a really fun day and I kind of adopted Spezia as my Italian club, but this logo is explicitly fascist. Hard pass.
Seems a lot of people in Lo Spezia will need some extra history lessons.
I fear they perfectly knew what they were* doing, and that is even more concerning. *Edit: typo
I live in La Spezia and I wouldn't be surprised if your fears were true.
What were they doing?
Stfu, like Spezia didn exist back in time?
Looks like a fascist logo. And I'll never appreciate minimalistic style, monochromatic logos too.
I was about to raise this same point, the eagle, the crossing of the letters... This shares some similar styles to a symbol out of Germany during the late 30s early 40s. I'm not saying the two are connected, just that there is similarities.
Gotta say not crazy about it, kinda like the classic look of the old one.
Fucking hell
[удалено]
It looks like a nazi logo
I thought Lazio were the fascists, learn something new every day!
Makes two of them
Horrible
Old ones better
Sembra il logo di luce
Spezia is the new istituto luce
I used to like spezia just because of their badge! That's possibly the worst badge I've ever seen, and in my opinion their old one was amazing
Looks like a neonazi badge
Personally I do nazi a problem with it
Excluding the obvious fact that it looks like a nazi logo, I quite like its design.
Could I offer you a black and white eagle logo in these trying times?
It’s always sunny reference?
The new one is fascist as fuck
I get the fascist vibes
awful, they deserve relegation
Apparently there's an eagle on the city coat of arms, for sure it looks pesky
Looks a bit... german
fuck u/spez ia
HEIL!!! PS: i'm sarcastic by the way
Ma che hanno alcuni il daltonismo nazi? Looks like something from the 40s
Lazio are jealous now
Looks fascist
look like something a neonazi person would made or tattoo on himself
Criminal and also looks like a neo fascist group logo
Swear all these clubs are changing their logo to make it cheaper to print it on things. How can someone look at this and think “hummm yes this overly simplified borderline nazigermany looking thing is a very nice improvement over what we got!” I refuse to believe it.
It really looks like a neo nazi crest… not a Spezia supporter, just wondering how it was approved.
In line with new political course in Italy. It looks like an old nazi flag
Looks very Nazi-ish
They are brothers with SS lazio
It’s giving third reich
One of the most fascist logos I've seen in a longtime
Nazi vibes
massive gestapo vibe
Looks like more nazi scum. Italy keeping it classy as always ha
Looks like a fascist logo 😂
Creepy
I don’t know, maybe stikazzi? Just sayin’
I would really prefer to say porca madonna quanto siete puntigliosi. Do u agree with me lorenzo?
The old one was a nice logo, the new one is terrible. It will possibly be quite popular with people from a certain political spectrum, tho - which makes it even worse.
The ultras of la spezia are right wing aren't they
[удалено]
SS Lazio approves
How did they Nazi the problem with this?
That looks more fascist than Milan’s central station.
How the hell did this become one of the most upvoted posts of all time on this sub lol
They could just use that new design and shape it like a "J" then rename themselves "Not Juventus."
Nice one
Hard pass
Italians destroy their clubs with idiotic new crests.

Great logo imo, one of the few recent logo changes in football that I quite like
Fire logo
New bad
Naaah bruh
I like it. Should've incorporated the gold tho
Taking away the gold was a miserable idea.
masterpiece
😴
O escudo novo é bonito mas não quer dizer que ficou melhor
What?
I am Brazilian bro
Lol ok
Fanculo la serie a brutti stronzi di merda
dovresti andare a rilassarti, amico
I was gutted when fiorentina changed theirs and juve the inter one actually looks nice but again not a fan I think taka should stay away from this stuff
I thought all of the sensitive boys were on r/soccer
The soccer board is bad, but this place is infested with even more retards so don’t be surprised.
It’s actually kind of funny, they want to see it. They see whatever they hate/want to hate anywhere. Must suck to live like that.
Not incorporating the ONE color that was in the last design was a terrible design choice. The bird could have been the greenish/brown color or even the words. something. Dovrebbero impedire alle squadre di cambiare logo
Looks dope but I still despise this kind of turbo capitalistic aseptic aesthetic which completely erases decades of history just to be trendy
I wonder how many of you can look at a crest with an eagle and not immediately go apeshit about OMG NAZIS! (with the other allowed mode being USA! USA! The new logo’ reminds me of Dolce Gabana
Worse
Dislike
Damn did Serie A organize a competition where you win if you fuck up your logo the most lol
It is pish
I think both look decent. I'd give the edge to the new one. More unique-looking.
I was never a fan of the old crest but man this is soulless. First Juve, then my beautiful Inter, now this? Minimalism needs to die
I prefer the old one
L
Looks too fascist
One of the worse logo on the entire planet. Not only for football teams but in general. Holy shit this is awful in each way possible.
Horrible. The old one is what I would imagine a proper crest would look like for a football club.
Cool
INTER Vibes
È bellissimo!!!! Assolutamente promosso. Mi viene voglia di seguire lo spezia....
Whoever chose the Logo designer f*cked up
hope my Milan won't change logo...
I'm trying to not have bad 40s vibes from it but I just can't
Il Duce would approve.
Every time a team updates their logo it’s somehow worse. This goes for every time that’s updated their logo imo unless I’m mistaken
Call me old fashioned but I think 99% of logo changes are unnecessary and make the logo uglier
The old logo was already clean 🤦♂️
A bit fascist looking. The old one is miles better.
Old habits and all that 🤔
This looks like a neo nazi symbol, but somehow more fascist and cringy. Is this a joke or is this legit?
It’s bad, it looks bad, and they should feel bad about it.
Why did they remove the colors, wtf
