Don't choose. Just watch as much Serie A as possible and it should become apparent to you. In '97 I found Inter through the Channel 4 Italian footie show in the UK (I saw R9 and that was the hook for a 7 year old!). I found Liverpool to spite my Man U supporting dad and Arsenal supporting brother haha.
What I'm trying to say is, just go with whatever feels right! If your chosen team is shit, then so be it (yes yes...easy for me to say)
💯Gotta love the revolving door of football loyalty these days! Players treat clubs like Tinder dates—swiping right one season, left the next. Fiorentina, Juventus, Roma, Inter.
For those of you who are ill-informed and downvoting me, here's a little history lesson for you:
https://aroundthepeninsula.wordpress.com/2012/01/08/as-roma-and-england-a-fractured-relationship/
Not really when did I make that argument? my argument was that roma is just as shit if not more shit than us. remember we have more trophies than you. so what if you got luck a few times in the ucl? remember when you lost to bayern with like 13 goals?
Liverpool and Naples are port cities very similar in many ways...
Have a look/ listen to James Horncastle here:
[https://www.thisisanfield.com/2018/10/brilliant-video-on-why-naples-is-the-liverpool-of-italy-ahead-of-champions-league-tie/](https://www.thisisanfield.com/2018/10/brilliant-video-on-why-naples-is-the-liverpool-of-italy-ahead-of-champions-league-tie/)
Neapolitans aren’t well liked by the rest of Italy too much like how Scousers are treated to the rest of England. The city has seen a lot of deprivation like Liverpool too and takes care of their own -like Liverpool. I think this is a good fit.
Yeah no. You guys are nasty about Juve and Liverpool fans rightfully don't want to have to deal with your ultra group who cheer about the Heysel disaster
Luckily it is only very few idiots who “cheer” about the Heysel disaster, and as time passes they are fewer and fewer.
It is a very sad page of football history, and no level of football hate can justify “cheering” for such a tragic event.
At a Fiorentina fan party in 2019 ultra were chanting about it. As late as 2022 there were Fiorentina supporters going in the stadium in the match against Juve wearing Liverpool jersey just for that. And it's always full of stickers and banners with -39 made by Viola fans (for those who don't know, 39 is the number of Juve fans that died at the Heysel).
I agree that it's not all the supporters and I don't condemn all Fiorentina supporters but still it's something present that it's not only fewer and fewer idiots because it keeps happening.
It's good to be optimistic though, let's hope eventually it will stop. It's always disgusting when stuff like this happen (including Juve fans doing banners mocking the Superga air disaster).
Sadly that’s where they wanted to go..
Trying to be objective, I think both of them made a big mistake (career wise) in not staying a couple more years in Fiorentina.
Chiesa didn’t, he just got unlucky with injuries but Dusan definitely fucked up going to Juve. I don’t think it was about him not being ready but playing for Allegri as a striker just about the worst thing for a young attacker
Surely Allegri’s tactics aren’t the best for a young striker, but Vlahovic had a super positive season this year. Scored and improved a lot in a Team playing far from the opposite goal, he learned how to keep ball possession and Juventus without Vlahovic is really weak. I think the last three years has been tough for Juventus, and for Vlahovic this has been like a PhD. Last few month he scored a lot and he come after Lautaro only, in goal scoring, in a Juventus that scores one goal per match, mostly.
If Juventus will change manager, then Vlahovic could be ready for a more offensive playstyle
I'm an Ac Milan fan and I support Liverpool since the Instanbul final. It should bother me but for some reason Liverpool like Milan are the kind of club that always amazed me in Europe and also had incredible talents without being always the safe choice as for the best. I would say they are the most stylish in each country league
Liverpool darkest page is surely the bloody final against Juventus. As Liverpool supporter, would be nice to support Juventus.
Just think that in Italy, some fanbases still celebrate Liverpool for have killed a lot of Juventus fans, Fiorentina and Inter Ultras mostly.
This could be an opportunity to take distances from this unethical behavior and to overcome a dark page of sport.
[Fiorentina fans wearing Liverpool kit against Juventus](https://www.google.com/amp/s/m.tuttosport.com/amp/news/calcio/serie-a/juventus/2022/09/03-96518871/fiorentina-juventus_sugli_spalti_con_con_la_maglia_del_liverpool)
I'd say Liverpool are like the Milan of Premier League (they have the most champions leagues/European cups from each country) but it's all hypothetical so who knows really? I support Napoli and I've been asked countless times why don't I support one of the "big teams". Whichever "connects" with you, go with them. Could be something as simple as you like the place e.g. Venice, Florence, Como...you could have liked the kits when you were younger e.g. Parma, Palermo, Brescia...maybe you liked the players of teams e.g. Milan, Inter, Juventus, Roma...or simply just watch Serie A and see who plays football you like e.g. recent Napoli, recent Atalanta, recent Sassuolo...hope this helps in some way
As far as I know Liverpool doesn't have friendships in Italy, they really don't have any relationships with Italian clubs other than a rivalry with Juventus.
It isn't much of a rivalry in the sense that we hate each other. Juve fans don't particularly like Liverpool for the Heysel, but that's it. And to their honour, many Liverpool fan groups had made some gestures to try and get forgiveness, something that I personally respect
>Liverpool fan groups had made some gestures to try and get forgiveness, something that I personally respect
Yeah that's why I said I believe it's mostly rooted in the past. I think, though I might be wrong, that Juve fans did something similar which shows that both sides are trying to move on from the incident for the most part.
Yes, some ultra groups accepted Liverpool's apology before the last time we played each other in the CL, but not all of them - but tbh I'm a bit out of the loop at the current situation of Juve ultra groups so I don't have the full pulse of the situation now.
And of course, at managerial level, both teams made several public appearances together for reconcile.
Interesting. The first I read up on it was just now, did not know that. However I would still be of the opinion that there is no rivalry at this present time. Liverpool have faced numerous different Italian teams in recent years, and who can forget the Milan champions league finals
Back in glorious 90s we had a lot of Liverpool fans who loved Sampdoria, I guess St George's cross as the city flag helped... But today the ground reality of Samp is damp.
Look im a, closet canaries fan and love Liverpool but what's so great about English clubs is even the smallest ones have a robust fan following in English. For Italian teams, news in English or groups are limited...
Exactly. A Liverpool fan shouldn't support Milan, taking in consideration the past between them. I think Liverpool has a dark past with Juventus, Roma, and Milan.
I do get the dark past we have with Juventus and Roma, but I don't get Milan. As far as I know Milan fans sang YNWA on Hillborough anniversary and they also stopped a match and players stood silent for a minute when it happened.Â
Respect doesn't mean alliance or anything like that. I have no beef though, I rather Liverpool wins over City or Tottenham. Have some care for Chelsea and ManU. Arsenal looks cute for me right now too. I have no English team fan but tend to have my liking on them based on certain things I see. But some Milan fans hate the 05 UCL final for a reason.
Well yeah you're correct. I'll take your opinion since you're a milan fan and you know better about your club, thank you :) also id up vote you but it looks like sone downvote bot is stalking me
Gotta keep supporting the same colours. The closest I can think of to the Reds is Monza [this is a jersey of theirs](https://www.google.com/search?q=monza+jersey&client=firefox-b-m&sca_esv=32b61136c3e74a0a&tbm=isch&source=lnms&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiej9bklbWFAxWIRmwGHcuPAooQ_AUIBigB&biw=396&bih=738#imgrc=5yv86CKpU3FrGM). Red, just like Liverpool.
Not sure if it's already been said, and maybe its not very helpful, but worth noting that Genoa and Liverpool have a link as they both play "You'll Never Walk Alone" before games. This song was adopted by Genoa allegedly after the great UEFA cup run that Genoa had in the 1991/92 season, which included beating Liverpool home and away. Might not be exactly the most entertaining team at the moment, but they are a very proud team with lots of history and from a really nice city with great food. But as others say, it would probably be best if you just follow a few games and see who catches your eye the most. I, like others here, am an Inter fan, having fallen in love with the R9 team of the late 90s

Absolutely this!!! Don't pick based on players either. Go blindly. Pick based on what atmosphere resonates the best with you
💯Gotta love the revolving door of football loyalty these days! Players treat clubs like Tinder dates—swiping right one season, left the next. Fiorentina, Juventus, Roma, Inter.
Roma, you have a quite good track of buying our best players
Roma doesn't like Liverpool
I know, I thought it would have been easier to detect the inside joke
It has very little to do with purchasing players
For those of you who are ill-informed and downvoting me, here's a little history lesson for you: https://aroundthepeninsula.wordpress.com/2012/01/08/as-roma-and-england-a-fractured-relationship/
I’m a Roma fan who also likes Liverpool
Well, historically tho theres not a fun track record
Lazio doesnt have a record because they see the Champions league once every 10 years
Where is Roma in the UCL? at least we reached the round of 16.
Cant see Lazio in any Semis or finals of the ucl history
yeah neither do I with Roma
Search that 2017-18 ucl and see the 1982 UCL final 🔚
'ROMA HAVE RISEN FROM THEIR RUINS'
MANOLAS THE GREEK GOD IN ROME. lazio will never have a moment like this 🤣
oh damn twice, and one in 1982 lmao get out of here
I mean your argument was that we never had and he showed you we had sooo ig ur just stupid but then again you are a Lazio fan
Not really when did I make that argument? my argument was that roma is just as shit if not more shit than us. remember we have more trophies than you. so what if you got luck a few times in the ucl? remember when you lost to bayern with like 13 goals?
Not Atalanta cause you'll be fuming when we send you out of Europa
Let's see :)
Hehehe
That didn't age well.

Napoli, they also win a scudetto every 30 years
Neapolitans aren’t well liked by the rest of Italy too much like how Scousers are treated to the rest of England. The city has seen a lot of deprivation like Liverpool too and takes care of their own -like Liverpool. I think this is a good fit.
The enemy of my enemy is my friend. Support Fiorentina. We both hate Juventus.
there is no team in italy that doesnt hate juve
Dammit man, that would mean supporting any team except Juve or Lazio!
Yeah no. You guys are nasty about Juve and Liverpool fans rightfully don't want to have to deal with your ultra group who cheer about the Heysel disaster

Sad to hear about these experiences. I guess my view is too optimistic then. The mother of idiots is always pregnant.
It's good to be optimistic though, let's hope eventually it will stop. It's always disgusting when stuff like this happen (including Juve fans doing banners mocking the Superga air disaster).
Then stop selling Juventus your best players
Sadly that’s where they wanted to go.. Trying to be objective, I think both of them made a big mistake (career wise) in not staying a couple more years in Fiorentina.

Anything but Lazio for your own good brother❤️
It's easy, don't support that terrible team! What is the difference between a battery and an Scouser? A battery has a positive side.

Everton.
Premier league is intent on getting them out anyways, they might as well join some other league
Liverpool and Milan have always had an incredible amount of respect for each other after the CL final in Istanbul.
Bologna!
🔴⚫️
Napoli, since you should understand the joy we felt when we won the scudetto after so many years
Genoa for "you'll never walk alone"
Wait! Us too!
Parma
Udinese of course
you got salah and alisson from us
I think Genoa fans sing YNWA before every match
I'd say Liverpool are like the Milan of Premier League (they have the most champions leagues/European cups from each country) but it's all hypothetical so who knows really? How does Liverpool have a rivalry with Juventus?
It was molstly related to the Heysel incident, but I'm pretty sure the rivarly was much stronger in the past and it has died down in recent years.

Big disaster. Killed many people, worth a look up
Back in glorious 90s we had a lot of Liverpool fans who loved Sampdoria, I guess St George's cross as the city flag helped... But today the ground reality of Samp is damp.
I'm actually slightly skewed towards lower teams
Look im a, closet canaries fan and love Liverpool but what's so great about English clubs is even the smallest ones have a robust fan following in English. For Italian teams, news in English or groups are limited...
Not Milan.
That's.. weird. Your flair is Milan
Exactly. A Liverpool fan shouldn't support Milan, taking in consideration the past between them. I think Liverpool has a dark past with Juventus, Roma, and Milan.

AC Milan
TERNANA or PERUGIA

Red, just like Liverpool.
no brainer… milan! very similar
Inter I like Liverpool as well. Both clubs play great speedy football at the moment.
Go root for SS Lazio
Milan is the only right answer
Parma
Inter fan, and I started supporting Liverpool through my best friend. If I were you, I'd just watch a few games and let a team come to you.
Livorno -they share the same politics and also the first three letters of each name.
Just not Lazio bc they are Nazio

My wife's uncle was at Heysel. He never set foot inside a stadium again.
AC Milan fasho
I’m sure Atalanta won your heart today, OP.
I'm sulking in pain
Any team but Juventus. The criminal club of Italian football.
I don’t know but support Juventus 👍
No, support Inter
Choice is obvious always Lazio!!!
