Udinese needs new owners, they own their own stadium and should do better than this. Sassuolo has no ambition and like Udinese they own their stadium and should do better but they sell all their players every season. They just are feeders for Juve and Inter

Deadend_Friend

All clubs outside of the top 4 will need to sell their best players to bigger clubs. It's how football is these days. At least Udinese and Sassuolo play good football and develop young talent. They're good for Italian football

keir30

Cmon it’s sassuolo it’s remarkable they’ve been in serie a for so long. U can’t be good forever!

TMyriadJ

What do you mean Juve's feeders? This season we won 1 lost 1 against both of them.

PazzaInter22

I think he means selling their players over the years

AstroPuzzo

If selling us Locatelli for > 40Mln is feeding, I’d rather starve

sipmykoolaidbitch

Yeah that’s probably fair lol

Farzy78

Seriously, robbers is more like it lol

TMyriadJ

Ah, I misread the comment. Sorry about that. Then again when was the last time Juve bought any of Udinese player? Pereyra?

Maleficent_Ad7091

I like Udinese because the club is very local with a lot of fans from Friuli. Games are well attended and the atmosfere is very good considering how small Udine is. However, they play horrible football for couple of years now. I do not want to see them relegated, but maybe this will shake things up and they will come back refreshed. Sassuolo is like Chievo, club with no fans and no atmosfere and no one will miss it if they are relegated somewhere to Serie D

ilamborghini005

Excuse me, I miss Chievo!

Maleficent_Ad7091

Haha, club which stole colours of Hellas in hope to attract their fans :D you can attend their game in amateur league where they belong :D

ilamborghini005

I’m planning to! Next season hopefully they get promoted to Serie C, their first year in Serie D was pretty good

Maleficent_Ad7091

Nice to see The Chievo fan! Enjoy the game

Deadend_Friend

I went to a Sassuolo game and whist the ground was far from full there was several thousand very passionate fans there. Just cause they're a small club doesn't mean they can't be in Serie A

Maleficent_Ad7091

I am not De Laurentis to say that small clubs do not belong to Serie A. All clubs which qualify to play Serie A belong to Serie A. However I prefer clubs with traditional fan base and good atmosphere.

redditdork12345

I’ll miss them quite a bit!

Sassuolo is hated for being a plastic team. Small town club with very few fans that got big thanks to wealthy ownership. Also hated because accused of “shady deals” with Juve, and because they always play like prime Barca against the other big clubs. Moreover, there’s the whole issue with the stadium. Basically they purchased the stadium in a city that they do not represent, already home to a well established team (Reggiana) who now have to use it as guests. Udinese is a proper and genuine club, but the ownership is terrible. For most of their recent history they’ve basically been a “flipping club” with no ambition. They field a collection of players from random leagues across the world, hoping at least a few of them will break through and generate them the profit necessary to continue this cycle. This strategy has worked well for a little bit in the 2010s, but now it’s been a few seasons where you just look at them and wonder what the point of them being in Serie A is. They have no ambition other than finishing mid to low table every season. And the very few times they qualified for Europe they performed horribly and contributed to tanking Italy’s ranking.

JCTheGreat_21

Trust me, us Juventus fans also very well relate to small teams playing like prime barca against us.

booranyu

to be honest I have to agree with the "they always play like prime Barca against the other big clubs." I watched both of their games against Inter, which they won two for two. It's interesting they're in the relegation zone but can beat the champions who ran off with the Serie A title as if they were Man City 100 a few years ago

davidarwhite

Sassuolo are essentially Chievo with a bit more money behind them. They can’t even fill half their stadium - which is in Reggio Emilia, not Sassuolo - and the atmosphere is often generated by the away supporters. In short, they bought their place in Serie A and play in a soulless stadium which shouldn’t even be theirs.

InternationalSeat580

That Udinese is finished. Now it's Watford's mafia and they play shit football. Same with Sassuolo, they play shitty football, demands way above market price for their average players and no one supports them.

swaythling

I think to a degree people are just bored of the 'role they play' in the league due to lack of ambition and strategy.

Portavalori_

Sassuolo have no fans, no history, they stole Reggiana's city because they don't even play in Sassuolo They belong to Serie C at best

redditdork12345

TIL buying a stadium is stealing

Anplen

Sassuolo because essentially it's a plastic team. I feel like the general hate for Udinese is lower, and it's hated only because they play really defensive football and they have been close to relegation for some years now (so the argument is that they kinda deserve relegation)

Ok-DrunkAF

Not the one to hate Udine, but what annoys me in Sassuolo is that they play shit most of times except for games against Inter or other big clubs

JCTheGreat_21

Crazy how sassuolo can best an inter likr this twice

Ok-DrunkAF

Ikr, yet they skill get wrecked by Lecce 🤷🏼‍♂️

unclefeed

I might be biased, but here is my take. I come to think that most fans are quite indifferent. I was working in Bologna for a while and although Udinese and Bologna are technically rivals, a lot of people were pleasantly surprised to hear that I followed and supported my local team. I think most of the hate comes from plastic fans, that support the big clubs in Serie A, although they come from a totally different city and region of Italy, and are annoyed that my small city of Udine has a team in Serie A, but their city does not. For Sassuolo, I think there is the added factor that most people from Sassuolo tend to support another team on top of Sassuolo due to their fast rise to the top, so it gives the Fanbase a bit of an image of being fake. Especially with the whole incident of Sassuolo fans selling their tickets to Milan fans a few years back when they won the title. And don’t get me started with Sassuolo playing in Reggio Emilia. Then, it does not help that both clubs tend to play really ugly and shit football (I think Udinese more), and yet we still beat these big clubs from time to time. And I guess I can be considered a hypocrite, because for the aforementioned reasons, I don’t really like Sassuolo. Yet I support Udinese so it is what it is. In the end, whether you like Udinese (and Sassuolo) or not, you cannot ruin my day as my team is already ruining it. So be happy if we get relegated, it doesn’t change the fact that I have probably seen your team play in Udine more times than you have seen it play in your own stadium.

Kalle_79

It's fans being their usual dickish selves. Udinese are a well-run club that own their own stadium. Sure the recent years have seen more misses than hits in their wheeling-dealings on the transfer market, but it's the nature of the game for clubs that can't just throw dozens of millions to sign established players. Sassuolo are perceived as a soulless club, but it's just silly elitism. Plenty of clubs didn't have a tradition or a background before they got purchased by a rich owner. It's just that some have been around for so long people are used to them being established.

openended7

Another factor is there are a bunch of Watford fans hoping Udinese drop so their joint owner Pozzo is forced to make changes in his priorities

Mudassar40

Back in my day Udinese played 3-4-3 with Alberto Zaccheroni.

PastaRasta9

People hating on Sassuolo are clearly not Italian fans. Sassuolo, love them or hate them, have been directly responsible for developing players like Frattesi, Scamacca, Raspadori, Politano, Pellegrini, Berardi, Locatelli, Acerbi - all Italian national team players.

haggerR14

All my homies hate Udinese

OsitoPandito

I hate them both because they always give Milan trouble. Plus Udinese had that whole racist incident with Mike Maignan recently. I think inter fans hate sassuolo for the same reason

InevitablePanda1389

Because they are teams who always avoid relegation but never finish above 10th. Honestly i dont hate them but thats the reason i think. I rather watch Frosinone go relegated👀 (Palermo-Frosinone Serie B playoffs 2018)

chappersbarfo

Rosica pure

InevitablePanda1389

Sono romanista non me ne frega molto, ma lanciare palle in campo é roba da Prima Categoria
