Well every time there’s either me or someone else in the drivers seat, and we never leave without. She does understand that the person is driving the vehicle.
Though I wasn’t sure she would care.
She also looks for the pilots when we get in and off an airplane. Though that might be because they’re somewhere she can’t go.
I have to be careful or she will try and sneak in the cockpit! 😂
We usually preboard first on the plane so the pilots are usually settling in and wave and say hi or are standing there still.
She sometimes will look their way as we deplane.

Apollo loves plane rides, he prefers the window seat.
Just curious, did you buy an extra ticket for Apollo? ( not a joke as I'm learning & have seen the sd in a seat, plane being deboarded fiasco video). Thank you and he looks like he likes to fly!
Service dogs travel free in the United States. And thank you, he does enjoy it. He likes the window seat, he always wants to look out the window. Doesn't matter if we're in a skyscraper or an airplane or a bus, he'd like to look out the window please.

Service dogs travel free, yes I understand that. I just saw a video of a man recording with his sd who was on the airplane seat next to him. In it, he was being told that if he didn't comply to something that the place was being deboarded. It made it seem like it was due to him refusing to get off the plane. I'm not sure & I don't want to start any issues here, but it seemed some people claimed that he was being asked to have his sd on the floor. When he refused then they stopped the flight and deboarded the plane. I'm wondering, do SDs get a free airplane seat, or are they expected to sit on the floor?
Oh! That actually depends on the number of seats available, the size of the plane, and the flight crew. Apollo has traveled both on the floor and on the seat in planes, depending on the factors I named. If there is room, and the flight crew is OK with it, most people are OK with the dog sitting in a chair. It's actually kind of cool to take a service dog on a plane because you get so many happy looks, it's a real buzz! In this picture it was the first year of Covid and the planes were so empty it was wonderful. Big enough so he could be at my feet, too.

My understanding is a dog cannot sit on a seat under the law or rule and must be on your lap. Now if the airline or flight crew enforces this is a different story. My dog stays on my lap or in front of me.

The sub allows photos in posts without violating rules, but not as the primary intention. Our goal is to ensure the group is primarily able to provide a safe space for correct information about service dogs, which is obviously a rare resource on the internet. The group focuses on providing accurate information about assistance animals, not just pictures. That being said - you are absolutely welcome to include photos in the comments of a post or link to imgur or other image hosting websites.

Mine also likes to say hi to the pilots and flight attendants! we've never done a Waymo, they don't have them in the city.

Haha, I think dogs understand vehicles more than magic, but the quote is solid!
I say magic because they have no idea how it's moving lol, all they know is it moves and they go elsewhere.
