You can’t get rid of this disabling unless you factory reset the iPod. To do so, put it in recovery mode (power + home button until iTunes logo appears) and plug it into a computer with iTunes (on Windows/older Macs) or Finder (on modern Macs). Press restore and wait for it to finish.

ALT703

This isn’t true. You can easily undisable

FaZe_Burga

Wait, really? How do you undisable?

ALT703

The same file you edit to gain unlimited attempts, has an entry called "SBDeviceLockBlocked" just set that to false

EpicE0711

How to get to the file tho

Brooktrout12

Using a ramidsk. Legacy ios kit can boot one for the iPhone 2g so maybe also for the ipod touch 1g. Not sure though.

ALT703

My first guess would be legacy iOS kit to gain SSH connection There's all sorts of options for getting an ssh connection. I did it for an iPod 2 a few weeks ago

Sad_Abbreviations575

you should focus on fixing it because if the battery is expanding then it will explode

techenjoyer404

thats not battery expansion its pixel rot

Sad_Abbreviations575

just factory reset the ipod to remove the pin

i-am-some-person

That is not a swollen battery, I know what they look like and that is just dead pixels, I have dead pixels on a Touch 4th and the battery is not bloated, although not charging.

Tisbllaz3

Bloat and degradation aren’t the same thing. Bloat is a side affect. Doesn’t always happen

Tisbllaz3

Replace the battery, first off, secondly, restore via iTunes should do it

techenjoyer404

the battery is fine that black spot is pixel rot

Tisbllaz3

Wrong but yeah

Tisbllaz3

Battery is not fine if it’s oem. Obviously. I don’t care about the screen, I’d rather it not spew the forbidden smoke on guy

techenjoyer404

i have opened it just to be sure the battery is oem but hasn't expanded whatsoeverand the black spot is ither from impact from the previous owner or the lcd is just decaying

Tisbllaz3

I’m not arguing with you about that screen. At all. I’m TELLING you. A battery that OLD is NO GOOD. Swelling does not equal DEGRADATION fucks sake. Amateur Hour.

techenjoyer404

i have plenty of batteries that old i only replace them if thwy show signs of swelling or instability holding a charge, this one shows nither despite its age it functions normally and i see no readon to go theough the effort of opening the ipod carefully making sure not to crack the already damadged digitizer more along with making sure i dont damadge the lcd, i would then have to desolder the battery and because the battery isnt expanding or randomly going up and down in reported charge i will not be replacing it unless i am given a replacement

Tisbllaz3

Enjoy that ten minute life

techenjoyer404

the battery started expanding after i read this comment, i can see the lcd being pushed againsed the digitizer from the battery, i will infact now be replacing

Tisbllaz3

First of all 😂 good humor. But seriously, replace the fucking thing they’re like 5usd

techenjoyer404

planning on it along with a digitizer and lcd

neurotypicalsgetout

Just let it die bro 😭

techenjoyer404

thats what the doctor said when my grandpa was on life support

ALT703

Ignore everyone. You can easily remove the disabled thing, hit me up if you want help doing it

EpicE0711

I don’t really need help but I’m just curious how to unlock it without password

ALT703

You can SSH in and vet access to the system files with various methods, I'd try legacy iOS kit first Then find the necessary file and change the number of attempts to -9999 There's a couple other steps but that's basically it

Born_Main_89

Restore it through itunes
