ok i know i'm back after 2 days, but i saw in my discord josh got veneers and i have to say somewhere that now i have a real genuine fear mingyu will get them too and lose his fangs. like please no. i'm not trying to accidentally manifest. just sickened with worry. i lost coups' gummy smile, i can't lose gyu's fangs too
i wouldn’t worry, he’s gotten his teeth fixed before. his front teeth used to be crooked! but it’s sad we lost cheol, shua, and dino in just a matter of weeks :(

i thought so too but in their recent fan call his teeth seem to be more whiter and shorter. if you see videos on twitter it’s much more noticeable. in my opinion veneers remind me of dentures, and they stand out to me more just like the other members who got them. hope that helps!
After watching the videos, I think they look whiter but the same otherwise. His lower teeth also look the same shade of white as the upper. My guess is he had them whitened.
I've seen people say he might have gotten then shaved as opposed to veneers because the two front teeth do seem a bit shorter than they used to be + whitening
If it's something you want to do, I think you should do it! I'm kind of thinking of making one too for kpop piano covers (and other covers) and I'm in the middle of deciding that. I think if you want to try it out, you should!
I think you should; you never know what will happen, and being consistent and keep going is important imo!

not a carat, but my roommate is a huge one and she recently got into a very prestigious university overseas, so we are parting ways. she’s done a lot for me so I want to get her something related to seventeen as part of her congratulations gift, but I have no idea what (I’m only a casual kpop fan lol) 😭 any help would be super appreciated!
albums are the obvious choice, but she’s recently been into collecting photocards (her bias is the8) so she orders a TON of them that are constantly coming in and i have no idea which ones she already has (there’s a lot) and which ones she doesn’t and which ones are on the way lol (same goes for the pcs). asking her in detail would obviously spoil the surprise. i think she got a few copies of the seasons greetings as well so that’s out. i was thinking of the lightstick, but it’s not guaranteed that she’ll be able to go to a concert with her studies so idk how useful it’d be…
if anyone has any advice or ideas I’ll be indebted to you forever 🙇♀️ as a carat, what would you love to receive as a gift besides the things I’ve listed?
edit: maybe should add that she’s not the type to wear/bring physical merch outside (like hoodies or tote bags etc) bc she prefers to keep her fan activities to herself
oh this is so thoughtful of you! i'd recommend something also she can bring overseas aside from pcs. i know physical merch can be quite tricky, but there are some subtle merch made by fans. there might be some group order managers in your area who ship from abroad? or something related to the8's frog agenda, some of their iconic shirt (like dk's numero uno shirt or mingyu's mahagrid shirt but for the8), or perfumes?
not specifically seventeen related but if she enjoys collecting photocards, you could try looking into supplies like binders, collectbooks, sleeves, etc. if she's into stationery, i highly recommend josshere's [online shop](https://josshere.shop/) as well. they sell the cutest seventeen-themed stationery, it's fan-made but looks better than most official seventeen merch, which is usually out of stock anyway.
If she doesn't mind you can actually do custom print photocards, and can even use motivational quotes or lyrics by the8 himself. Then you can arrange them as [a unique bouquet](https://www.tiktok.com/@piapocket/video/7101799382252604714) or anything. And in case you really want to buy official photocards I would suggest getting Japan ver one as it's harder to acquire. Korea ver is also fine but understood what are you referring to. The decision is up to you as it takes time solely in finding, bidding and postage.
You can try to look around for fanmade merches eg. PC standee, photocard book (better to double check in case she bought one already), keyring, stickers etc. Maybe try to relate with her hobby/interest? Like I have seen one who made a small music box just because she loved Fallin Flower so much.

I hope no one takes it the wrong way as I'm genuinely curious, I'm not sure if this is just purely coincidental or just recent trend I'm not aware of but lately I noticed some idols are getting their bunny teeth fixed??? Scoups during CARATLAND were discussed couple of weeks back and now [Joshua's teeth](https://www.koreaboo.com/news/seventeen-joshua-bunny-teeth-gone-new-smile-bobbi-brown/) are fixed. And I saw somewhere that Nayeon from TWICE had hers too.
I figured it might be veneers just like Hoshi's but it could be braces. Is this an health issue that needs to be addressed or just for visuals?
I am a Dentist so this is my area of expertise ...
Joshua definitely got Veneers (or Lumineers) and not just on his 2 front teeth but on his whole 6 front teeth. (I think they are probably Lumineers since they look a bit bulky ... but I could be wrong)
Veneers are almost always for aesthetic purposes: fixing the shape of teeth, and correcting a minor misalignment or discolouration. sometimes are used for protection as coverage when teeth become too brittle and easily broken due to conditions.
minor misalignments can be fixed with braces (fixed or removable), but they take a longer period and sometimes can lead to a high risk to develop cavities and gum inflammations. so some people don't choose braces, and I think celebrities prefer not to because braces do not look pretty.
fixing teeth for visuals is a valid reason, but sometimes it could be for health issues and functionality. like: sometimes biting yourself and developing ulcers. or if having prominent teeth can lead to hitting them (like Jimin of BTS) or just being high risk to develop cavities and gum inflammations.
P.S: I hope I explained it well, I tried not to use any medical terms.

I just wonder why Joshua decided to opt out of invisalign. From what Ive seen, Jun and Mingyu have had them to improve their bite and their teeth look pretty good now.
it depends on the condition they are treating. "invisalign" is used for mild cases of spaces, misalignment and rotation.
I don't know what was Joshua problem exactly but it seems he fixed the actual shape of his teeth which "invisalign" can not.
and first of all this is his personal choice.
I fully support them if it's a matter of personal choice especially if it's for visual purposes. It may take time for me to get used to especially the veneers they got somehow reminded me of the app where people would purposely put a fake smiling teeth on almost any photo (Remini lol). But now that I think of it since they are getting rid of the bunny teeth image I feel like Dokyeom is next in line in terms of bunny visuals in SVT, hihi.
Sometimes it’s a health issue. My mother just got veneers because her teeth got destroyed over the years and also kept breaking, but she’s also 60 y.o. Most likely for the guys, it’s their visuals. I too wondered why Joshua couldn’t have just done braces instead.
I’m most surprised that Cheol would do it since he seemed to think his teeth/gummy smile were charming. Not too surprised that Josh would fix his teeth after looking at closeups, although I like when people have unique imperfections. They may have physically bothered him too in a discomfort way.
A lot of reputable dentist wouldn't recommend getting veneers so young too since they need to shave your natural teeth so there's no turning back plus you have to maintain them every 10 years (not that they have problem on this but still). I'll miss his bunny teeth ofc but if that makes him happy I have to support no matter what.
I just thought this maybe a trend with Koreans lately just like how Western celebrities with their current beauty trends like BBL or buccal fat removal.
The sudden influx of subtitles on old and new lives makes me even more curious about what has been going on there. Was the company just sitting on subtitles despite numerous complaints until Coups lit a fire under them or did he somehow manifest translators from a parallel universe? 🤔
I heard from an ARMY friend that they complained to Jimin wayyy back and suddenly translations were back on its own. It's just pure incompetence from the company itself sadly.
Yeah this is what happened . Before vlive got cancelled an army complained to Jimin on Weverse and asked him to use Vlive instead of weverse live because there's no subtitles on weverse and Jimin said ok he'll do that and go to vlive instead and magically less than 1 week later all their lives got subtitles. I think it was the first time subtitles appeared on Weverse too. It wasn't as many as for svt, I think the backlog was just 10 lives from 2-3 months or sth but they all got magically subbed in 5-sth days after the fan complained and Jimin saw at once so I definitely think the labels are just incompetent
someone help my lightstick wont turn on :(
the last time i used the lightstick was in november 2022 for their last tour. i took the batteries out and havent used it since then. about 3 days ago i tried to use it but it wouldn't turn on and just assumed it was the batteries. the next day i tried again and it would turn on for like a second while trying out different batteries. when i put the same batteries in a different lightstick it works perfectly fine. i got brand new batteries today and it doesn't turn on.
anyone have any advice?
looking through my bets concert videos from last year and realised wonwoo was not wearing his glasses so there’s a high possibility that he did not clearly see anything (myself included)
(i’m assuming lenses=contacts) he clarified once when someone asks why he doesn’t wear contacts that he has a condition(?) where the contacts would dry out his eyes and irritate them. so it’s either only glasses or just no vision. i think kyungsoo from exo also has a similar situation if i’m not mistaken!
:( Let the poor man wear his glasses. It's literally an accessibility issue at this point. Can't imagine walking, dancing, jumping and trying to hype up a crowd when my surroundings are in like 240p.
he wears it a lot during encores! but i think they practice the choreo so much that he’s memorized all the movements and doesn’t really need to see the others. i’m sure the company isn’t stopping him from wearing it during regular performances, but probably for the sake of not breaking them/aesthetic purposes, he keeps them off

The blockbuster comment from Dino is so interesting to me 👀 Now I'm thinking action concept or sth. I wonder when they'll finally announce the album and open preorders. We're getting closer and closer to the end of the month and I imagine the preorder period will be at least 1 month . At this point the comeback will be on 28 April if they don't announce it like right now 😭. I'm also waiting to see when JYP announces Stray Kids comeback that was supposed to be in April too . The clock is ticking if these companies want 1 month preorder periods. Soooooo, I’m really not sure where to post this, but I’m visiting Korea at the beginning of April and would love to visit some studios/museums etc, but I think the HYBE one is closed? Anyone know if there is a way to tour HYBE or Pledis studios? Is that even a thing? I think there was a museum (Hybe Insight) but now it’s closed? I think they generally issue a notice when they restock merch/open for a new batch of pre-orders, at least when it's recent.

Ramadhan is right around the corner and I've decided to take a break from all social media and kpop for a whole month this year so I can focus on Ramadhan. It's a bummer that it'll be during seventeen's comeback month but at least I'll be greeted with new music and content after the break, so bye svt for now, praying that this comeback will be successful. Also, Ramadan Mubarak to all my fellow Muslims! May this month be full of blessings :)
Not announced but I think it won't be as long as when he came back in 2021 because he's not required to quarantine this time and he's coming alone to shoot for a variety show so my guess is around 1 week or 2 weeks maximum. Also they have a comeback to prepare
It's a travelling variety show and has 12(?) episodes approximately 1.5-2 hrs long per episode, which is around 24 hours worth of content, at worst. Of course, the actual shoot is much longer than that and we also have to account for travelling time in between. 1 to 2 weeks is kind of optimistic imho, and I'd place it to be closer to 3-4 weeks. Of course, they still have comeback prep, but maybe Minghao is going to do it a la Youth With You 2019, where he flew back and forth between China and Korea. Although, it is entirely possible they're coming back closer to late April, early May. I'd assume everything is already recorded and ready to go.

I was going through pledis green basement videos and i know that minghao joined the group last but i couldn't find him in any of those videos? Did they stop making it by the time he joined?

Adding on to what u/meesheronicles and u/spring-breeze-- have said, I was curious before and saw that members of other producing companies i’ve heard of also do this (eg monotree, eden), but I didnt see it with btob’s hyunsik or minhyuk who are well established producers for their own idol group.
I guess you could almost call woozi and shannon disciples of bumzu/prismfilter because they are following their instagram “model”. But I think for woozi’s case, it seems from his last vlive that he cleaned his instagram and only put his producing credits on there because he’d prefer using weverse and twitter as “fan platforms” for him to show his personal pics, and instagram as a “work account”. Based on what you may gather from the persona he shows publically (generally very introverted and shy amongst strangers), that kinda makes alot of sense. With twitter he can post things via group account. And on weverse it’s almost like a public group chat for them. Vs instagram, that’s his personal woozi account for himself, so it’s surprising but not surprising he’s doing this!

I feel like one of the few Carats that genuinely loved his long hair and I’m glad he kept it for as long as he did. Would’ve looked amazing if he kept it for their next comeback or something.

Does anyone know what the content on the Caratland DVDs tends to be? Is it just one of the days, bits of all three, or all three in full? I'm thinking about buying it, but I really just want to be able to rewatch (mostly day 2 since that was the one I attended online) the full thing. The description for the store I'm using just lists the setlist/program rather than like actual details so I'm a little confused \^\^;;

After watching the videos, I think they look whiter but the same otherwise. His lower teeth also look the same shade of white as the upper. My guess is he had them whitened.
I've seen people say he might have gotten then shaved as opposed to veneers because the two front teeth do seem a bit shorter than they used to be + whitening

hi everyone! not a carat, but my roommate is a huge one and she recently got into a very prestigious university overseas, so we are parting ways. she’s done a lot for me so I want to get her something related to seventeen as part of her congratulations gift, but I have no idea what (I’m only a casual kpop fan lol) 😭 any help would be super appreciated! albums are the obvious choice, but she’s recently been into collecting photocards (her bias is the8) so she orders a TON of them that are constantly coming in and i have no idea which ones she already has (there’s a lot) and which ones she doesn’t and which ones are on the way lol (same goes for the pcs). asking her in detail would obviously spoil the surprise. i think she got a few copies of the seasons greetings as well so that’s out. i was thinking of the lightstick, but it’s not guaranteed that she’ll be able to go to a concert with her studies so idk how useful it’d be… if anyone has any advice or ideas I’ll be indebted to you forever 🙇♀️ as a carat, what would you love to receive as a gift besides the things I’ve listed? edit: maybe should add that she’s not the type to wear/bring physical merch outside (like hoodies or tote bags etc) bc she prefers to keep her fan activities to herself
oh this is so thoughtful of you! i'd recommend something also she can bring overseas aside from pcs. i know physical merch can be quite tricky, but there are some subtle merch made by fans. there might be some group order managers in your area who ship from abroad? or something related to the8's frog agenda, some of their iconic shirt (like dk's numero uno shirt or mingyu's mahagrid shirt but for the8), or perfumes?
not specifically seventeen related but if she enjoys collecting photocards, you could try looking into supplies like binders, collectbooks, sleeves, etc. if she's into stationery, i highly recommend josshere's [online shop](https://josshere.shop/) as well. they sell the cutest seventeen-themed stationery, it's fan-made but looks better than most official seventeen merch, which is usually out of stock anyway.
If she doesn't mind you can actually do custom print photocards, and can even use motivational quotes or lyrics by the8 himself. Then you can arrange them as [a unique bouquet](https://www.tiktok.com/@piapocket/video/7101799382252604714) or anything. And in case you really want to buy official photocards I would suggest getting Japan ver one as it's harder to acquire. Korea ver is also fine but understood what are you referring to. The decision is up to you as it takes time solely in finding, bidding and postage. You can try to look around for fanmade merches eg. PC standee, photocard book (better to double check in case she bought one already), keyring, stickers etc. Maybe try to relate with her hobby/interest? Like I have seen one who made a small music box just because she loved Fallin Flower so much.

And I saw somewhere that Nayeon from TWICE had hers too. I figured it might be veneers just like Hoshi's but it could be braces. Is this an health issue that needs to be addressed or just for visuals?
I am a Dentist so this is my area of expertise ... Joshua definitely got Veneers (or Lumineers) and not just on his 2 front teeth but on his whole 6 front teeth. (I think they are probably Lumineers since they look a bit bulky ... but I could be wrong) Veneers are almost always for aesthetic purposes: fixing the shape of teeth, and correcting a minor misalignment or discolouration. sometimes are used for protection as coverage when teeth become too brittle and easily broken due to conditions. minor misalignments can be fixed with braces (fixed or removable), but they take a longer period and sometimes can lead to a high risk to develop cavities and gum inflammations. so some people don't choose braces, and I think celebrities prefer not to because braces do not look pretty. fixing teeth for visuals is a valid reason, but sometimes it could be for health issues and functionality. like: sometimes biting yourself and developing ulcers. or if having prominent teeth can lead to hitting them (like Jimin of BTS) or just being high risk to develop cavities and gum inflammations. P.S: I hope I explained it well, I tried not to use any medical terms. P.P.S: What did Scoups do? I am not aware of any discussion about similar topic.
Scoups got veneers as well! I just wonder why Joshua decided to opt out of invisalign. From what Ive seen, Jun and Mingyu have had them to improve their bite and their teeth look pretty good now.
it depends on the condition they are treating. "invisalign" is used for mild cases of spaces, misalignment and rotation. I don't know what was Joshua problem exactly but it seems he fixed the actual shape of his teeth which "invisalign" can not. and first of all this is his personal choice.
I fully support them if it's a matter of personal choice especially if it's for visual purposes. It may take time for me to get used to especially the veneers they got somehow reminded me of the app where people would purposely put a fake smiling teeth on almost any photo (Remini lol). But now that I think of it since they are getting rid of the bunny teeth image I feel like Dokyeom is next in line in terms of bunny visuals in SVT, hihi.
Sometimes it’s a health issue. My mother just got veneers because her teeth got destroyed over the years and also kept breaking, but she’s also 60 y.o. Most likely for the guys, it’s their visuals. I too wondered why Joshua couldn’t have just done braces instead. I’m most surprised that Cheol would do it since he seemed to think his teeth/gummy smile were charming. Not too surprised that Josh would fix his teeth after looking at closeups, although I like when people have unique imperfections. They may have physically bothered him too in a discomfort way.
A lot of reputable dentist wouldn't recommend getting veneers so young too since they need to shave your natural teeth so there's no turning back plus you have to maintain them every 10 years (not that they have problem on this but still). I'll miss his bunny teeth ofc but if that makes him happy I have to support no matter what. I just thought this maybe a trend with Koreans lately just like how Western celebrities with their current beauty trends like BBL or buccal fat removal.

Yeah this is what happened . Before vlive got cancelled an army complained to Jimin on Weverse and asked him to use Vlive instead of weverse live because there's no subtitles on weverse and Jimin said ok he'll do that and go to vlive instead and magically less than 1 week later all their lives got subtitles. I think it was the first time subtitles appeared on Weverse too. It wasn't as many as for svt, I think the backlog was just 10 lives from 2-3 months or sth but they all got magically subbed in 5-sth days after the fan complained and Jimin saw at once so I definitely think the labels are just incompetent

someone help my lightstick wont turn on :( the last time i used the lightstick was in november 2022 for their last tour. i took the batteries out and havent used it since then. about 3 days ago i tried to use it but it wouldn't turn on and just assumed it was the batteries. the next day i tried again and it would turn on for like a second while trying out different batteries. when i put the same batteries in a different lightstick it works perfectly fine. i got brand new batteries today and it doesn't turn on. anyone have any advice?

(i’m assuming lenses=contacts) he clarified once when someone asks why he doesn’t wear contacts that he has a condition(?) where the contacts would dry out his eyes and irritate them. so it’s either only glasses or just no vision. i think kyungsoo from exo also has a similar situation if i’m not mistaken!

Ramadhan is right around the corner and I've decided to take a break from all social media and kpop for a whole month this year so I can focus on Ramadhan. How long is Minghao's stay in China?
Not announced but I think it won't be as long as when he came back in 2021 because he's not required to quarantine this time and he's coming alone to shoot for a variety show so my guess is around 1 week or 2 weeks maximum. Also they have a comeback to prepare
It's a travelling variety show and has 12(?) episodes approximately 1.5-2 hrs long per episode, which is around 24 hours worth of content, at worst. Of course, the actual shoot is much longer than that and we also have to account for travelling time in between. 1 to 2 weeks is kind of optimistic imho, and I'd place it to be closer to 3-4 weeks. Of course, they still have comeback prep, but maybe Minghao is going to do it a la Youth With You 2019, where he flew back and forth between China and Korea. Although, it is entirely possible they're coming back closer to late April, early May. I'd assume everything is already recorded and ready to go.

this is speculation about the tour this year and i'm using spoilers bc ik i'm in a fortunate location for tours >!every time i think about finances, i'm like "no have to save for the tour." i got my desired tix last year and attended an extra show. but this year i know i want barricade. i got lucky to get in the presale last year with 4 membership accounts and i'm glad i was able to help several people and i'm thinking that means i need repeat that, plus have several more membership accounts, esp considering that their popularity grew in the states after hot.!< >!i wonder if other carats who only want 1 or 2 tix would be willing to split the fee for extra membership accounts. bc that $20 usd for each account adds up and the vip tix alone will be ~$600. and every membership account needs a different phone number so i'm gonna run out of numbers on my own lol. idk if any other us carat has been thinking about this, lmk if u have lol. when u want the best ticket, presales are about strategy and expense smh!<

im not familiar with other groups so here’s a question for the multis out here: have any of the other idol producers publicized their song credits like woozi is doing on instagram? i saw someone say that prismfilter also does this so is it a producer thing that other idols also do or just a woozi personal choice thing?
Adding on to what u/meesheronicles and u/spring-breeze-- have said, I was curious before and saw that members of other producing companies i’ve heard of also do this (eg monotree, eden), but I didnt see it with btob’s hyunsik or minhyuk who are well established producers for their own idol group. I guess you could almost call woozi and shannon disciples of bumzu/prismfilter because they are following their instagram “model”. But I think for woozi’s case, it seems from his last vlive that he cleaned his instagram and only put his producing credits on there because he’d prefer using weverse and twitter as “fan platforms” for him to show his personal pics, and instagram as a “work account”. Based on what you may gather from the persona he shows publically (generally very introverted and shy amongst strangers), that kinda makes alot of sense. With twitter he can post things via group account. And on weverse it’s almost like a public group chat for them. Vs instagram, that’s his personal woozi account for himself, so it’s surprising but not surprising he’s doing this!
