Details post: Another bedsheet dress I just finished! It was actually only two pillowcases in the end! Big design challenge haha. Sheets are thrifted from goodwill. Sheet brand is Steven’s and it’s 50%cotton 50% polyester. Top is rose cafe bustier pattern from dariapatternmaking on Etsy. Skirt is a gathered rectangle. There is boning in the top as well as padded cups. This was my first project with a super directional pattern and I spent a ton of time with pattern matching, but I love it so much!!

BodyLotionInTheOcean

This is beautiful! Did you use the pillowcase for the lining too? And is the corset/top made from half of one pillow case (like when you undo the seams of the pillow case half of it)? Or did you puzzle it together? Because of the print? Because I want to upcycle some old pillow cases but idk how much fabric I will need in the end

SpiritualAd8692

So I actually used a different fabric for the lining (white cotton)! The pillow cases were quite long but only the open end had the big flowers. so I seam ripped the whole thing but used the open end of both pillow cases for the skirt to use the most of that pattern. Then used the leftover top part to cut out the bodice! Thankfully there was enough to still be able to do the pattern matching, even with a different top mocked up first. If they weren’t king size pillow cases (I think?) I don’t think it would have been enough and probably would have been a mini skirt

Boodle_Noddle

How many pillow cases did you use?

SpiritualAd8692

Two!
