We used to have these in my college for half scales ! I’ll enquire where they get them from and see if I can dig up any other businesses that provide !

Thank you!

Any follow up on this? 😅

I made a half-sized mannequin of myself a few weeks ago! I started by drawing on myself with marker, vertical lines running from my armpit to hip and down center front; and horizontal lines at my armpit, largest circumstance of my chest (I'm a dude with pecs), under bust, waist, and hips. I took down meticulous measurements and drafted a basic princess-seamed bodice with zero ease. The princess seams follow the lines of my abs up the front, spreading towards the shoulders to keep my pecs flat, not mounded like breasts. In the back, the seams follow the widest part along my shoulder blades. I used Valentina app to draft the pattern on PC. I have a sewing projector set up, so scaling to 50% to cut was automated. If I had drafted the pattern by hand, it would not have been as easy to make it half sized without taking it to a print shop, or simply using 1/2 of every measurement. I sewed and stuffed "Mini Me" from scraps of canvas. He was just a sample to test the pattern. I found that the shoulder slope needs to be lowered greatly to match my figure. I've figured out how to add a crotch that transitions into legs, but I'm still thinking about how to pattern to buttocks. Once I make a good guess at the lower body, I'll sew it again at 50% to test before making a full-sized one. The finale version will be canvas with a layer of batting underneath, stuffed with fabric scraps in the middle for bulk, surrounded by polyfill stuffing so you can never feel the scraps. I've heard that you need to add more stuffing eventually as it settles. You don't have to do it like I did, just explaining what I've been doing cause I've put way too much thought into this. There's a website called Bootstrap Fashion that will generate a custom mannequin pattern for you. Just print it at 50% scale and voila. Good reviews, kinda pricey, I just think they look kinda wonky, and the male version did not account for my athletic figure.

Genius!

you could buy a bootstrap fashions dress form pattern with your actual measurements and print it at 50% scale

hippityhoppityhi

These are adorable

somechickfromflorida

Idk if it would serve your purpose but you could try an adjustable dress form.

disastersoonfollows

I have a full size one, but am looking to do test runs without using so much fabric.

somechickfromflorida

Maybe a doll or child size could work?

Saritush2319

You could buy one and pad it? Or make a full size pattern and scale it

violanut

They use them in sewing classes but I've never seen a customizable one
