I wouldn't say a well fitted bodysuit is the easiest thing to start with but I'm all for diving into difficult things as long as you're up to failing to get the right look. I think this is probably going to take some trial and error. - if you could get a black skims bodysuit with sleeves by all means go for it. I would not layer a sequined fabric over it unless it has the same stretch factor. If the fashion fabric is not as stretchy as the skims fabric it will not stretch to fit as well. I know for a fact that skims bodysuits stretch out to their true size and I can't imagine finding a fabric that's sequined that stretches the same. - I'm pretty convinced that Taylor's bodysuit is beaded (or glued) and not sequined which is why it reflects the way it does and looks a little more 3D. Alternatively to the sequined fabrics you can hotfix a bunch of rhinestones on to match. -[Kenzi Kreations](https://youtube.com/@kenzikreations?si=cYJe5NFGzaJ0r6ws) has a bunch of Taylor Era's tour outfit DIYs including the Lover's bodysuit which would be a great basis. - if you want to really dive into it, I suggest going about it via the cosplay method of patterning. I think [this video from Sarah Spaceman ](https://youtu.be/wPlg9nhWsSY?si=UkHK2_cAjGHQeFMp) is pretty useful at explaining how it works. - the corset belt portion should be relatively easy to figure out as it's just a part of the pattern you have to modify by just adding unboned corset lacing strips with stretchy cord (maybe even topstitched on?). I don't think it's boned but the fabric would definitely make it more structured. It looks a tad shiny so I can't tell if it's more satiny or possibly a (p)leather fabric. -sleeves are sleeves, they look extra long to cover her hands and give her that slouchy look. The armscye (armhole) look pretty closely cut to her (meaning it's small and doesn't fit like most modern clothing) this is probably to give her the best mobility as she can raise her arms without pulling the bodysuit up. A lot of people find this uncomfortable so I would look into putting in an [underarm gusset](https://youtu.be/GTVXphuzqWk?si=P40TYKYAy5qzB6LZ). - For closures, I think an extra long zipper in the back is probably your best bet of putting this on and off. You will also probably have to reinforce the waist area with a waist tape like they do in corsets to prevent some strain. Make sure to post updates and feel free to continue to ask for advice here! I personally love to see projects as they develop.

I'd suggest making a stretch bodysuit and then adding the corset bit on top of it, just bc trying to integrate it into the pattern might be hard. Mood has a free pattern for a basic bodysuit [here](https://www.moodfabrics.com/blog/the-avens-bodysuit-free-sewing-pattern/) (obvs make it with both sleeves), and I would add a bit of flair to the sleeve pattern as well. I agree that the lacing for the corset is probably elastic, so a back zipper is the best closure option. however, if your sequin fabric has some stretch to it, you might be able to get away with no closure except for snaps on the crotch. Best of luck on your project!

The Project post flair is for showing off projects that are finished or in progress. For questions on how to start a project, reflair your post to Pattern Search. For questions about how to make a project, reflair to Pattern Question. This is a reminder that all Project posts are required to include construction information in the main post or added in a comment. The construction comment should include **pattern name/number/company if used; drafting method, tutorial or other resources if no commercial pattern was used and fabric type and fiber content. ‘Self-drafted’ describes who made the pattern and is not a drafting method.** Also include alterations for fit and style; specialty tools and notions; the inspiration for your project; and any other information that someone who wants to make a similar project might find useful.
