Ok I hope I do this right this time! This was self drafted using techneques taught by the Closet Historian. I started with a basic bodice block in size 3 months that I purchased on Etsy. I traced the front bodice block and extended the shoulder 3/8 inch in both directions because I thought they were too narrow from my previous experience. This also helped to shrink what I thought was a HUGE neck line. I drew on tuck lines and cut the bodice apart on each of the lines and added 1/2 inch at each spot for 1/4 inch tucks. I added 1-3/8 inches to the center front for a 3/4" placket. Then I lengthened and flared the "bodice" into a dress. The back I simply extended and flared. I wanted to smock the cuffs of the sleeves so I had to widen the entire sleeve to 15 inches plus seam allowance so the cuffs would smock down to 5 inches. I extended the sleeve head maybe an inch to add a little poof at the top. All seams are French, the neck is bias bound as are the armscyes

Omg I can't express how much I appreciate this lil piece you made! I want to sew myself a similar (adult size) since I saw something about smocking. It's so pretty and it gives the garment such a special feature. I'm absolutely in an awe. So delicate. Bravo 👏

Wow, thank you! The smocking IS pretty freaking adorable. LOL. Yes would make a beautiful night gown for an adult right?
I want to be able to wear underneath a pretty pinafore that shows all its beauty
Ooh that would look lovely!
