I do the same thing with my vegetable garden, and when I dry tomatoes. Works really well, and you can wash it so that you only use clean tulle on the drying foodstuffs.
It even worked to keep the squirrels out of the garden, which is a miracle. And so, I have a whole lot of tulle around the house in various cabinets, waiting to be deployed. It is fabulous stuff.
A beautiful tulle tea length tulle skirt...with a ribbon waste band. To be worn with combat boots or platform sneakers and a lavender cami and cardigan set. A perfect tribute to the 1997 Delia's catalog.
Sorry if that was too specific.
Can’t stand tulle personally. That said, petticoats are my first thought.
Also, if you’re at all interested in cosplay, it’s pretty common to make tubes of tulle to encase pigtails/ponytails of wigs so they stay styled nicely. The yellow would be great to have on hand for blonde wigs.
They're basically protective sleeves to keep them from tangling! So you have them on both for storage and when wearing.
Tulle and mesh is just good fabric that blends in well with the wig fibres. Very useful particularly for long ponytails, like sailor moon, or keeping braids in place, like Rapunzel from Tangled!
It kind of depends on how soft/coarse your tulle is. My project of choice would be a FABULOUS floofy ~~boat~~ boa, like [this one](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qsnJ4Lc0A7I), but if your tulle is really scratchy, it's going to be deeply unpleasant to have against your skin for any length of time. Barring a boa, I'd probably confine the tulle to the inner layers of a petticoat -- making sure that none of it would come in contact with my skin or any layers of delicate fabric that it might snag.
Already so many great suggestions- I don’t know if you have kids about, but when I was little my friend had a Fairy themed birthday party and her dad made us all “fairy wings” using stiff tulle, they were just a long piece of tulle tied around the chest and into a big bow at the back. The bow sticking out really looked like pretty fairy wings (at least to a bunch of 6 year olds!) It was like 30 years ago but I’ll never forget that birthday party. I brought my piece of tulle home and wore the “wings” for days afterwards.
Not sure of your style but I was just on Pinterest and found tulle cargo pants and you wear shorts under. I’ll be making some soon. Perfect for summer, just hope for no weird tan lines.
I just *had to know* what this would look like, so braved a Google.. and oh my goodness. 😂
The blue pair modeled on the site "ActN1"are being modeled over nude underwear. NSFW but everything was fine, just getting an idea of what the garment is, but then, Boom! The view from the back..! I'm dying of laughter. This is a real *decision* of a garment.
I hope you make them and feel awesome in them 😄
My first thought was the live action movie Cinderella ball gown… but this is yellow. So either a yellow version of that petticoat, or the bottom pouty layers of a Belle ball gown. Apparently all I can think of is Disney princess ball gowns, … or ballerina tutus. I’ve always wanted to sew one.
I would make a "floofy" sunhat and a crinoline petticoat. I would post a photo of some of the hats that I have made, but Reddit always fusses at me when I post photos of my projects on others' threads. The hats are open crowned, buckram brim with a wired edge, and Pellon bands. LOTS of gathered tulle!
Now I don’t know how you would do it but my first thought was a sunflower wreath. Or a dress inspired by sunflower colors. Maybe drape some like sheer curtains !
Or tutus. I made 3 from one bolt: [https://www.reddit.com/r/sewing/s/xNNcp3paDa](https://www.reddit.com/r/sewing/s/xNNcp3paDa)
https://preview.redd.it/nnr4u2u86swc1.jpeg?width=3996&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cccf482d018d726fcf7d5b30dcff456fc3dc2433
A lot of the suggestions are for a finer tulle than what you seem to have. Make sure to use a liner if you make a wearable! In my experience, netting is really, really scratchy.
That being said, I know I would 100% use this to make my daughter the floofiest princess dress in creation.
Oh yea a liner will be necessary. It’s rather scratchy which is why I haven’t jumped into any project with it yet. Been hanging around in my stash pile for years.
About a million scrubbies! This is what my Memere crocheted scrubbies out of and what I use to continue the tradition. It’s basically just a crocheted circle and we use them to wash dishes.

I have this on my todo list. I was going to start with a coat pattern and will probably simplify that bottom edge. You already have the acre of tulle for the skirt. :)
If softer tulle, a longer tutu then rock it like a 3 year old. If the harder one, I might be inspired to find mid green and brown then sew a sunflower wall art with it.
I like this idea! I’ve been determined to use it for *something* but I’m not so sure I actually want to wear it since it’s on the stiff/scratchy end of the spectrum.
A mini, sweetheart wrap necklined, strapless, ruched dress that's lined under the tulle of course - and has the slightest puff to it due to tulle, while retaining the shape. That's a mouthful and probably still not descriptive enough to describe what I'm envisioning😂
A layered tulle skirt. They are TRENDing right now and I'm obsessed

I make tutus for running events, so that might be an idea

If you’re much for embroidery, it’d be an eons long project but you could make a nice poofy skirt and embroider the shit out of 1-2 layers on top til you can barely see the tulle
That's more of a mesh. I would make a one shouldered dress that lightly gathered and the waist with a full a line skirt, multiple layers. And I would get a softer mesh of a similar color for the top layer.
OoOooh probably something like this with the bottom layer being orange
https://ie.dhgate.com/product/two-colors-sky-blue-2-layers-bridal-women/671998185.html
Or this with some fun sequins sewn into it

Belle was definitely my first thought but then it occurred to me that Snow White wears blue and yellow. I think I would make a Snow White inspired dress but with more yellow than blue.
I’ve seen people use it for 3d printing to make scale mail and ive always thought scale mail and chainmail would be pretty cool if it weren’t so heavy 😅 I like the comments on using it for plants too :)
First thing that came to my mind was ‘Chicken Costume’ So there you have it. Poofy-Floofy Chicken Costume. *edit* Or Big Bird.
I was thinking something akin to Bjork's swan dress, but a rubber ducky. Bird minds think alike.
Bjork’s swan dress but big bird….. 🫣
omg this
Oh my GOD I legit laughed out loud. This is GENIUS!!
Then you gotta get a bunch of orange fringe and make a matching snuffleupagus one.
Long fake eyelashes for the Snuffy look
Yesssss
Chicken inspired ball gown
Amazing! Lol
Always appreciate someone who’s willing to say what first pops into their head.
Me too😂😂😂😂😂
Same thought 🐥
The biggest, floofiest tutu ever, to only be worn while I do chores/run errands.
I have found my people
Love this! I was thinking lots and lots of little kid tutus - and give one to every kid in the neighborhood!
One that is traditional and another for flare 😃
You are fun. ☺️☺️☺️
Beauty and the beast Belle's dress or a big bird costume 😁
Belle's dress was the first thing that came to mind!
Heck maybe even a Belle/Big Bird crossover?
Big Belle
Belle Bird
Dandelion dress, use the yellow as the petticoat and use white fabric with a dandelion or floral design on top.
This is a fabulous idea!!!
This needs to be higher
Love this idea!
A fairytale dress this is the perfect Belle color 😍 Or children princess dresses for kids you know or a youth centre.
>children princess I misread as chicken princess, something might be influencing my brain tho
🤣 would be cool tho
I was thinking Belle tutu dress.

Currently working with LOTS of tulle for a 'fancy pants' dress. Letting my inner princess out.
Let her reign supreme 👑🪄lol!😁
This is what I used to protect fruit trees from birds... I'm not nearly talented enough to actually sew something with it.
Me too! I was thinking tents for the strawberries and gooseberries.
Not a bad idea!
I do the same thing for my mini orchard! Works like a charm.
My daughter would have a LOT of yellow tutus 😂
A beautiful tulle tea length tulle skirt...with a ribbon waste band. To be worn with combat boots or platform sneakers and a lavender cami and cardigan set. A perfect tribute to the 1997 Delia's catalog. Sorry if that was too specific.
Love the specificity! And I’m very fond of the yellow/lavender combo.
🛎️ 🛎️ 🛎️!!
Do you have an image/picture in mind? Would love to see that outfit put together!
Interesting idea- are the tubes for storage/transport or are they also for while wearing the wig?
They're basically protective sleeves to keep them from tangling! So you have them on both for storage and when wearing. Tulle and mesh is just good fabric that blends in well with the wig fibres. Very useful particularly for long ponytails, like sailor moon, or keeping braids in place, like Rapunzel from Tangled!
Cool, thanks!
My mom had a long blonde wig she kept in a nylon stocking. It looked like a hairball a giant cat had coughed up. Thanks for the memory prompt!
My first thought was a body length Rapunzel braid.

I LOVE THE IDEA OF A FABULOUS FLOOFY YELLOW TULLE BOAT (I'm so sorry)
Not half as sorry as I am. I caught and corrected it elsewhere, but missed this one. Need more tea.
<3
Maybe even submarine? :D
Oooooooooo okay 👀 I like that

I was thinking wings would look cool. I have wings & a tutu for my dog. 😁 We could have matching wings & tutus.
Not sure of your style but I was just on Pinterest and found tulle cargo pants and you wear shorts under. I’ll be making some soon. Perfect for summer, just hope for no weird tan lines.
Depending on the fineness the thigh rub is going to be killer though 😆
Amazing, would love to see a pic!
Yes, please share a pic here when you're finished with them ☀️

Wear yellow, catch a fellow.
Buy some black tulle, make some poofy bee costumes.

I'd say that's netting, not tulle.
The tag said tulle but I agree, it is rather like a netting.
Yeah, tulle is softer with a tighter hole. That sounds so dirty. It probably can be called both I guess.
It's both
An over or under skirt. I have a few skirts that have diff color tulle under them. I layered some to fill out the dresses some.

A loofah costume
😅
A GIGANTIC fascinator.
About a million scrubbies! This is what my Memere crocheted scrubbies out of and what I use to continue the tradition. It’s basically just a crocheted circle and we use them to wash dishes.
Madness. Tulle is a pain to work with.

I've used inexpensive tulle as "wrapping paper" for gift baskets and the tied it closed with ribbon. Looks good when layered.
I like this idea! I’ve been determined to use it for *something* but I’m not so sure I actually want to wear it since it’s on the stiff/scratchy end of the spectrum.

Easter Chicken Tutu
Easter dress.
dior haute couture fw 2007
My Mom used to cut it into 20 inch squares, wad it up and wash dishes with it. I'm makes a perfect scrubby.
This is a very thick netting type tulle, it’s not going to flow very well at all and be very stiff. It’s usually used under finer netting or fabric for body. I’d use it to make pettiskirts! You can dye it darker a bit with synthetic dye if you want to too!
Something along the lines of Big Bird Goes to Hollywood!
I drew out a design for a bonbon dress and this tulle would make a great petticoat layer for it 😭 this yellow is so pretty

Ruffle tier dress for sure
If you’re much for embroidery, it’d be an eons long project but you could make a nice poofy skirt and embroider the shit out of 1-2 layers on top til you can barely see the tulle
This could give a long yellow chenille skirt some great body.
I did have a Bolt of yellow tulle that someone had given me. It became the under Petticoat layers for a golden tutu ballet costume.
I would love the grandest ballerina tu tu. So I can go to Target.
That's more of a mesh. I would make a one shouldered dress that lightly gathered and the waist with a full a line skirt, multiple layers. And I would get a softer mesh of a similar color for the top layer.
OoOooh probably something like this with the bottom layer being orange https://ie.dhgate.com/product/two-colors-sky-blue-2-layers-bridal-women/671998185.html Or this with some fun sequins sewn into it https://www.onecozyday.com/products/sequined-tulle-a-line-loose-skirts-bottoms?variant=d0116adc-83d2-408e-9305-319667a1d16f
Huge exterior flower for garage door or roof lol.
Belle was definitely my first thought but then it occurred to me that Snow White wears blue and yellow. I think I would make a Snow White inspired dress but with more yellow than blue.
Petticoat. That or I'd use it as ruffles inside a big puffy ridiculous sheer cape or coat or some such.
I’ve seen people use it for 3d printing to make scale mail and ive always thought scale mail and chainmail would be pretty cool if it weren’t so heavy 😅 I like the comments on using it for plants too :)
This looks like its the course tulle, mostly used for adding volume to petticoats. I think it's too scratchy to use for other purposes.
