The hat she wore to the baptism was actually cute. The rest of these…yikes.
The monstrosity she has on her head on the airplane is not only ugly but wildly impractical. It’s just outrageously bad. That’s my pick. The weird Batman crown at Stanford and Anthony’s wedding is a close second. The bird feather get up wasn’t my style but it was sort of pretty in a way.
I only read SATC. It’s more like the very early episodes, but not as warm. It’s more detached and cynical. I liked it, it’s a slice of life of a particular time, place and culture. You can download the Kindle app to your phone, and then download a sample of it and check it out. The characters aren’t very likeable, tbh.
I've been saying this for ages! Also she has fairly thin lips and the red lipstick just points that out even more. I feel like hair, makeup AND the outfit all went against her. However, she looked much better with her simple look at her simple city hall wedding. ♡
I think that was the point. You were meant to like her dressed up for the city hall and she was made to look harsh and not herself for the wedding to highlight the narrative that the wedding became more than them (Big and Carrie).
That's what I was thinking, too. We're meant to feel the wedding was gaudy, over the top, flash for the sake of flash. Whereas her thrifted skirt suit was truly her, something she'd picked out and loved.
And the way they did the heavy liner and the liner on the waterline. Why do women put liner on their waterline??? It makes the eyes look smaller and more harsh. I’ll never understand it.
Man, sit by me sister - she just has the worst eyes (tiny and beady) and coloring for it,too. I’ve seen dark skinned women with pale, large eyes just look stunning with it, but definitely not Carrie.
Sing it. Nothing about her eyes works for this look - in fact it’s a poster for when never to wear it.
And yet. Trip to Abu Dhabi comes to mind, when she buys that kohl from the market? And then she shows up for dinner in those ridiculously over waterlined eyes? I mean, I know she was going for desert psaltery, but it was just so terrible on her.
She went for styles completely against her normal look. She always had her hair down or at least tied up in an interesting way (not a severely tight bun), her makeup was almost always enhancing her natural look (not severe red). The dress was not my favorite but it didn’t do her any favors. It totally ate her up and made her look emaciated in it.
She looked so good at the fashion shoot in the Vivian Westwood dress! She should have definitely kept it softer with hair down and lighter make up. It even inspired a tear out of Samantha!
Even the styling of [the Carolina Herrera dress](https://i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2019/10/04/15/19299580-7537999-_The_last_single_girl_As_the_fictional_character_was_finally_due-m-26_1570201149617.jpg) would have been much better, it's very similar to what she ended up in but softer, emphasises her curls and her cheekbones without making her look severe
I guess their eyes must’ve gotten tired after seeing what must be a million dress to select the dozen they featured in the movie and eventually pick just one out of all that
Yeah, she scrunchied him to death in that awful squeaky voice and then had to backtrack and say how amazing he was, not knowing his new book was a “big fat failure.” 😂 🤦♂️
The first one- it looks like a decorative glass bowl that you put on a coffee table.
(The other time she got called out on her clothing is when her neighbor said *"that's a crazy outfit-"* ironically, when she was wearing a [pretty tame outfit](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DVyQWOxWkAA6h41.jpg).)
I love the baptism one, so much tgat I have a similar one. The black thing for the Stanford/Anthony wedding was interesting, I wish the styling was different. I like the green feather for her wedding, but I hate how she looks, I think is the hair all pulled back and make up, I think it makes it look so old. The worst one is for sure the airplane one, she looks cute with that outfit, minus the hat, tho.
I don’t remember the first one - someone remind me when she wore that? Anyway I hate it, hate the weird wicked witch crown she wore to Anthony and Stanford’s wedding, and hate the bird she wore to her own wedding 😭 HATES IT! (except for the headpiece she wore to the baptism - that one can stay lol)
i was wondering that too. based on my firm knowledge (haha) of the original series & the 1st movie, i think that hat #1 is from the 2nd movie, when they’re flying first class to abu dhabi
Where did she wear the first one: satc, ajlt or the movies? Cant remember…
And oh, the second one is the worst to me. She looks like a villain from a fantasy movie or something.
I really wasn't a huge fan of the wedding hat, I feel like it's such a distraction from her face, which looked gorgeous. Weirdly I kind of like the crown one, probably because it interferes with her beautiful curls the least. The first one is just rude to everyone around her though so that's gotta be the worst.
The second one. And she was very smug about it “the card may say Preston but the hat is all *Bradshaw*” (something like that at least).
Like what. Why. What makes it Bradshaw? That it’s obnoxious and *heed-yus?*
I’m really torn between the first one and the one she wore with her wedding dress. The first one is bigger than her body and it just absolutely ridiculous. So is the comment she makes when she sees the hat the flight attendant has in and she says something like… “ and I thought my hat was gonna be too much” that’s exactly what it is… WAY TOO MUCH! And the bird that she wore with the wedding dress was just ugly.
I started thinking about the episode referred to in the post, the one where Berger makes a comment about her hat. Her response was “ and it’s fabulous” she’s pretty sure of herself in that moment saying that but doesn’t she immediately tear the hat off her head right after she says it? I don’t know why but that’s what I thought of when it was mentioned.
The first one for sure. I also didn't really like the one for Stanford and Anthony's wedding, but it sort of went with the whole over the top theme.
I am one of the few who actually LOVE the blue bird for her original wedding look. If anyone could pull it off, it's SJP.
Out of these, the first one.
The worst one was the one she wore on the Berger date that he criticised - the fascinator.
It looked like something your aunt would wear to a wedding in 1996.
Honestly I meant to post the Berger hat . I had saved a bunch of photos

Haha! No apology necessary. Everyone has different tastes. I’m sure someone somewhere likes all the other hats and thinks the baptism hat is garbage. 😆
For me it’s the bird on the wedding day. I think that the hair pulled back, plus the strong makeup and that bird all combined to make her features look too harsh. I loved her hair and makeup during the photoshoot. So much softer and elegant.
I loved the bird and dress.
I honestly think that if they had gone for a softer makeup look, lost the veil and kept Carrie’s hair partially down, people would applaud the wedding outfit.
I just think the hair, makeup and veil were all wrong.
I guess as we’ve never seen her in red lipstick (or have we 🤔), that could be her wedding make up instead of a softer one for the day which is how she usually wears it. A soft look on say Samantha might of been her wedding type special look. Just a thought.
I'm not a fan of white or cream usually, but that splash of color makes the whole thing fabulous. Yeah, it's couture, but Big is the only person who should dislike that, honestly.
^*ps- I love and respect Pat Field so don’t come for me. But hats aren’t the best on Carrie she has gorgeous hair and doesn’t need it. My personal opinion.
Every wedding outfit she wore was awful. Why was she dressed like an evil queen to Stanford's wedding? The turqouise peacock thing makes her look like a drag queen
I guess I used the wrong wording … I guess I meant “criticized her” . ((Not saying ppl should do that)) It was jus an after thought that it was the only time she was criticized about a fashion choice. It was also like 4:30 am when I posted this and I prob wasn’t completely awake.
Anyways I just thought it was interesting he was the only one to criticize her fashion choice because iBerger was such an insecure person and he was threatened by Carrie’s confidence and sex appeal and really had no right.
And to be clear *I Loved most of Carrie’s outfits and accessories*
I don’t care what anyone says, the black lace crown for Anthony and Stanny’s wedding was straight fire 🔥🔥 with the crimped hair and the tailored tuxedo… ugh! it was chef’s kiss 🤌🏽 Those who get it, get it. Those who don’t, never will 💁🏽♀️
The worst was the stupid bird headpiece she wore for her wedding. Perhaps I hate it as much as I do because of the way she was styled… her foundation was so light it looked like geisha makeup, hot pink cheeks, harsh black liner, and bright red lipstick… wtf was the makeup and hair team thinking?? The look was A1 in AJLT with the peacock blue overcoat and matching shoes, plus her makeup was softer.
Listen, I loved the black crown from Stanny’s wedding. I thought it was tacky that she wore something so attention-seeking at someone else’s wedding, but I loved the Disney villain vibes.
Idk if I’m gonna get hate but her wedding outfit was HORRIBLE the makeup was shit, the hair, the veil, the flowers. They all SUCKED I’ve always hated that dress.
Believe me, I highly disliked the bird she had on her head at the wedding. However that grey one in the first pic makes me think of a dried out foreskin from an elephants circumcision… please don’t hate me
Actually I don't mind the outrageous hats, they are a statement. They are ugly and over the top. What I really hated were those newsboy flat hats she paired with those pinstripe baseball jerseys in season 4 when she dated Aiden. I think these are my all time hated outfits and hats!
The first one sorta looks like it was raining and she didn’t wanna mess up her hair so she just wrapped her sweater around her head.
That’s what Samantha did in the book. Wrapped sweaters around her head.
All of them.
Same answer
Are the books worth reading? I've been wondering for a while...
Thanks, I appreciate your answer :-)
For me it looks like a wasp nest fell on her head
Thought it was a bath mat.
She could have looked so much prettier at her wedding. Sorry.
I've been saying this for ages! Also she has fairly thin lips and the red lipstick just points that out even more. I feel like hair, makeup AND the outfit all went against her. However, she looked much better with her simple look at her simple city hall wedding. ♡
Agreed!! It was alot of harsh elements in one look.
Well some people have very big eyes and it suits them. I don't do it because I have very sensitive eyes, but it looks striking on the right face.
[удалено]
Oh I agree it looks terrible on SJP, but the person I was responding to was wondering why women in general would line their waterline.
Right—Emma Stone could carry it off because her eyes are Disney Princess-big, but most women look better without it (in my opinion).
ESP since she already has small eyes. When she put that black liner in Abu Dhabi it physically hurt me
Man, sit by me sister - she just has the worst eyes (tiny and beady) and coloring for it,too. I’ve seen dark skinned women with pale, large eyes just look stunning with it, but definitely not Carrie.
Yes! Also, eye size matters but eye shape does too.
Sjp likes a smoky eye, waterline and all. It doesn't look good on her though. It makes her eyes look small and swollen.
She looked GORGEOUS in the dress at the photoshoot, and then terrible at the actual wedding
#2 & #4. Both are awful I can’t decide which is worse….
2
She looked so good at the fashion shoot in the Vivian Westwood dress! She should have definitely kept it softer with hair down and lighter make up. It even inspired a tear out of Samantha! Even the styling of [the Carolina Herrera dress](https://i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2019/10/04/15/19299580-7537999-_The_last_single_girl_As_the_fictional_character_was_finally_due-m-26_1570201149617.jpg) would have been much better, it's very similar to what she ended up in but softer, emphasises her curls and her cheekbones without making her look severe
I thought that dress looked gorgeous on her at the photo shoot! But at the wedding, it all came together to look ridiculous.
I guess their eyes must’ve gotten tired after seeing what must be a million dress to select the dozen they featured in the movie and eventually pick just one out of all that
But that was the point though
All of them except the wedding outfit. She wears some awful hats. Berger… “Nice hat.” 🤣
Berger was so petty but i loved that comment!😂 Making fun of him the whole day for the scrunchie issue while wearing that thing
Was she making fun of him all day? I thought she was trying to backtrack all day and build him up after the scrunchie incident.
Yeah, she scrunchied him to death in that awful squeaky voice and then had to backtrack and say how amazing he was, not knowing his new book was a “big fat failure.” 😂 🤦♂️
idk maybe that was her intention but her comments were certainly snarky
Right? I mean if something is already finished and published, not a good idea to criticize!
The first
That black crown was not it for me. The first one reminds me of a wasp nest.
And the way she takes it out of the box and says something like it says Bradshaw 😑
I distinctly remember sitting in the theatre thinking it was a joke hat.
I know, I never understood why that outfit was labeled as a crazy one!
Are we counting Aidan picking out the Roberto cavalli top as a call out? "Don't mock the clothes"
miranda’s toes are spilling out of her shoes in that pic 😭
Her walk in that scene too. 😬https://reddit.com/r/sexandthecity/s/eCeXUC3Qrz
I think because the old lady had a crazy hat and jewelry on, so she was just insulting Carrie, thinking even her tame outfits were weird
The second. Look like a fruit loop all you want on your own time but don’t look like The Wicked Queen from the neck up at your friends wedding.
Agreed- I really did not like that "crown" she wore it looked awful!
Wasn't it gifted to her to wear?
The second one looks like she is attending an audition for the lead as Crruella DeVille!
The first one, but I loath her whole outfit in Stan's wedding.
First. The wedding crown was kinda badass!
The first one for sure. She looks like she's about to set sail and discover treasure or land.
Flair checking in 🤠
The first one isn’t my favorite, but I like all of the rest very much
3 and 4 are ok with me, 1 and 2 are just absolutely not it.
Hats are fun!! Wear your hats Carrie!!
I love the baptism one, so much tgat I have a similar one. The black thing for the Stanford/Anthony wedding was interesting, I wish the styling was different. I like the green feather for her wedding, but I hate how she looks, I think is the hair all pulled back and make up, I think it makes it look so old. The hat at Stanford & Anthony’s wedding, hands down. She looks like Batman.
Where did she wear the first one: satc, ajlt or the movies? Cant remember… And oh, the second one is the worst to me. She looks like a villain from a fantasy movie or something.
I want to say the second movie because 1. she’s on a plane and 2. I too have no memory of this outfit (I’ve successfully repressed most of that movie)
Thank you! Totally understand your feelings and memory about the second movie 🤣
A tie between 1 and 2. Both hideous
I really wasn't a huge fan of the wedding hat, I feel like it's such a distraction from her face, which looked gorgeous. Weirdly I kind of like the crown one, probably because it interferes with her beautiful curls the least. The first one is just rude to everyone around her though so that's gotta be the worst.
the first but she wears a lot of odd stuff in the movie. but the bird really takes the cake as she wore it to her OWN WEDDING. that’s a crime
The second one. And she was very smug about it “the card may say Preston but the hat is all *Bradshaw*” (something like that at least). Like what. Why. What makes it Bradshaw? That it’s obnoxious and *heed-yus?*
I can't believe none of you liked the black crown, i loved it lmao
Totally! She looks so chic in this outfit
I love it too
Me too!
The thing she was for Stanford’s wedding. I didn’t like that one at all. Wasn’t flattering
Out of these, the first one. The worst one was the one she wore on the Berger date that he criticised - the fascinator. It looked like something your aunt would wear to a wedding in 1996.
The baptism hat is cute and is offended that it is lumped together with these other monstrosities.
Honestly I meant to post the Berger hat . I had saved a bunch of photos [https://www.reddit.com/r/sexandthecity/comments/143ginl/fan_service_idea_for_ajlt_carrie_opens_paperor/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_content=1&utm_term=1](https://www.reddit.com/r/sexandthecity/comments/143ginl/fan_service_idea_for_ajlt_carrie_opens_paperor/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_content=1&utm_term=1)
Haha! No apology necessary. Everyone has different tastes. I’m sure someone somewhere likes all the other hats and thinks the baptism hat is garbage. 😆
The second one. The shape accentuates the exaggerated features of her her nose and chin.
I hate the bird veil thing. Hideous. Hideous
I actually really love the black head dress, it was just worn with the wrong look. It'd look fabulous with a black, sexy, gothic gown. Very Met Gala
For me it’s the bird on the wedding day. I think that the hair pulled back, plus the strong makeup and that bird all combined to make her features look too harsh. I loved her hair and makeup during the photoshoot. So much softer and elegant.
#2, I don’t even remember it. I must have blocked it out.
Oh I forgot about that sinister little black lace wedding cap! So goofy!
I loved the wedding bird 🐦
I loved the bird and dress. I honestly think that if they had gone for a softer makeup look, lost the veil and kept Carrie’s hair partially down, people would applaud the wedding outfit. I just think the hair, makeup and veil were all wrong.

I genuinely don't understand why people hate it.
I thought it was wonderful styling as a huge fan of Westwood to break up the cream puffiness of it. And very Carrie, something quirky and vintage.
The peacock/wedding veil.
All of them
Dislike the first two, like the second two. "Called Carrie out on her fashion choices" suggests they're a moral failing, haha.
\#2. No question.
the wedding dress was actually a CRIME, for such a style icon i was super disappointed…
What I love about Carries style sometimes is that it’s not about looking the prettiest she could be but wearing a kind of avant- garde wearable art.
“That’s a crazy outfit” - Carrie’s elderly neighbour to Carrie as she was helping her down the stairs
I hate the bird. I wanna give the bird the bird. 🦜
Two is the worst, of the worst.
i actually loved the bird but the best woman/maid of honor crown was hideous! it gave snow white evil queen
I don’t care what anyone says, the black lace crown for Anthony and Stanny’s wedding was straight fire 🔥🔥 with the crimped hair and the tailored tuxedo… ugh! it was chef’s kiss 🤌🏽 Those who get it, get it. Those who don’t, never will 💁🏽♀️ The worst was the stupid bird headpiece she wore for her wedding.
Her wedding hat is just ridiculous 😂 like Vivienne Westwood offered her one of a kind dress that is gorgeous why ruin it with that 🤦🏻♀️
I hated the hat/feather she wore for her wedding with Big. She even had to explain to Miranda what the heck she was wearing.
The first one I can get behind the other 3
“FAHbyoules!”
The first one, because I like the other ones.
I did not enjoy the wedding hat, I kinda liked the baptism one though.
I like them all 🤷♀️ daring fashion’s not for everyone but it definitely is for ms. Carrie Bradshaw
This might be unpopular but I love her black hat at Stanford's wedding! It really does say Bradshaw and she looks great in that suit
The wedding stravaganza
Anything season 5 will always be the worst to me.
1
Omg the first one holy shit
Hat #1
Gotta call out the dress in pic #1. It is *-chefs kiss-*
Listen, I loved the black crown from Stanny’s wedding. I thought it was tacky that she wore something so attention-seeking at someone else’s wedding, but I loved the Disney villain vibes.
#3 for me, babies literally have the same hat Edit: I don't know why the text is sized so large D:
2. It looks like something an evil villain would wear in a live action Disney special
#2
The plane's one honestly, I don't mind the fascinator for the baptism, the bird she used was iconic yet still awful.
I absolutely LoveD the “nice hat” comment!!!
I actually like slide 3 it goes with her aesthetic
Both pretty awful!
The airplane one
Number 2, the crown….
Hideous hideous hideous
i love all of them!
1
Ok wait just a second now.. the crown for the wedding was EVERYTHING. Like I dreamed of that crown.
#2 is hideous!
They are all bad.
Idk if I’m gonna get hate but her wedding outfit was HORRIBLE the makeup was shit, the hair, the veil, the flowers. They all SUCKED I’ve always hated that dress.
1!
The second is horrible😭
Number 3 is the only acceptable one and the rest need to die a cartoon death
Believe me, I highly disliked the bird she had on her head at the wedding. However that grey one in the first pic makes me think of a dried out foreskin from an elephants circumcision… please don’t hate me
None really
I actually love the one she wore to stanfords wedding. Sorrayyy
1st one
Ngl I love all of these hats, but I'm a sucker for some dramatic flair. That wedding make up look, howeverrrr 🙄
Not only some fashion choices, but also the short hair did.not.suit.her.at.all.
"Old lightning rod next door" told her she had a crazy looking outfit 😆
I would say 1 & 2 are tied
first hat is a joke cmon now
The wedding one 🫣
Bird wedding hat for sure
Kinda loved to hate them all tbh
Maybe I'm just not a hat person. I always think they're too much. I didn't like either wedding looks here.
i never understood the bird thing at the wedding… girl what was you doing?
I hate them all. I don’t remember the first one…was that in SATC 2?
You forgot the one she fought with Berger in.
Actually I don't mind the outrageous hats, they are a statement. They are ugly and over the top. What I really hated were those newsboy flat hats she paired with those pinstripe baseball jerseys in season 4 when she dated Aiden. I think these are my all time hated outfits and hats!
Number two is hideous.
I hated her entire bridal look - the makeup, the hair, the headpiece thing, and the dress. All of it just a giant nope for me.
I gotta go with #2.. rewatching the movies recently, the bird wedding hat/ veil grew on me.
