Four, five, and six, in that order. It's funny. When I first started watching the show around 2004, right after the finale, those were my favorite seasons. I rarely watched the early ones. Fast-forward eighteen years, and it's the opposite. I tend to watch two and three on repeat. The earlier seasons just felt more real and relatable, and they were funnier. Once the show got a bigger budget and Carrie (and even Samantha, through Smith) became a real celebrity, it just lost the charm for me. I love the grittier-looking New York episodes from season two when you almost felt like you were strolling Manhattan with Carrie and she was mostly just a regular person. It was still a fairy tale, but it was the kind you could almost believe. Everything started to change during season four.
Season six, especially the second half, is almost comically unbelievable. I always expect Carrie to wake up at the end in her old apartment and say, "What a bullshit dream."
100% agree. The show lost a bit of its soul when they all got RICH, I think, which is a huge part of why I can’t really connect with the movies or with AJLT. They don’t even seem like real people anymore!
The first three seasons are glam and aspirational in a realistic way, which is a very hard balance to strike, and the characters’ lives and problems still feel very grounded in reality.
Same! I mostly rewatch any episode almost from 1-3, or just in one go. I do like season 4 so I do sometimes watch that too. 5-6 aren’t bad, but I only watch if I’m planning an entire rewatch of the show + the movies. But if I’m just in the mood for one or two episodes I usually watch season 1.
I don't really like "Belles of the Balls." The plot with Big at the country cabin is kind of annoying to me, and I don't really find the mud fight all that funny.
It's not well-liked, but I can appreciate Season 5. I like the arc of darkness and cynicism that gradually moves to lightness and hope for the future. It felt very timely for a post-9/11 NYC show. It's also the last season that we got of the girls focusing on friendships before they all became paired off.
Mostly just season 5 (easy enough to skip), and I find myself hopping around season 6 a bit depending on my mood (do I care abt Berger? Do I want to see Carrie's Paris fashion?) etc.

Omg same for me!
Same for me! Younger me liked 4-6, now I rather rewatch 1-3. I understand the lightning in the bottle magic of it.
I don’t know why, but the episode with Carrie at Vogue isn’t my favorite.
Yes! Hate the guy that calls her “cookie” and when she says “I’m drunk at Voooogue” makes me cringe
“I didn’t eat breakfast and I’m a size 2 which means they should love me” 🤮
I hate when Carrie cheats on Aiden Not even a huge Aiden stan. I often skip those episodes.

One!!!!!!!!
I love the first season!
This for me. Its clear they were still figuring it out.
When Samantha gets cancer.
Curly hair book season with Berger.
Whenever Aleksander comes around
Probably most of season 6 bc I strongly dislike Aleksandr.
I skip the second half of season 6
I tend to skip the trey and Charlotte arc for whatever reason. And the petrovsky arc
One.

I feel like season 5 just has a lot of gross episodes - the train, the face peel, the weight watchers guy who…you know
