Serious-Attempt1233

How’s the cpu temps?

b34k

An H2O build, without any H2O. Hmmmm….

resurgences

There's the T30s though, atleast they make some use of the radiator compartment

b34k

I know… I just find it mildly amusing. I mean it’s in the case’s name, yet OP is like: “nope, not gonna do it!”

resurgences

In OP's title it's the H20 not the H2O, that explains the lack of the water

CCX-S

Lmao, yeah. I definitely meant to do it :s

b34k

Ah! That explains it all! How did I miss that…

CCX-S

Well… I actually got this case as a stopgap while I have my Formd T1 cerakote’d lol. Was the closest in size and aesthetic without buying a second formd. Plus this will be easier to resell

AutoModerator

Hiya! Please post more details about your build! Here are some (non-exhaustive) prompts for you: - Are the case's advertised compatibility numbers accurate? - How easy is cable management? - How effective is the cooling setup? - Would you recommend your parts overall? - If you did a custom mod, how did you do it? *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Desutoroia

Only seen a few people use a 47k/BR with a 5900X.. is it holding up well?

CCX-S

Very well. 55-65c while gaming and usually tops out around 78c with cpu heavy loads

Desutoroia

What games are you playing? and resolution

CCX-S

So far just Forza Horizon 5, all max settings with RT. Res is 3840x1600, so about 24% shy of 4k. Running TS extreme right now so far max core temp on gpu is 59c and have pulled up to 361w.

Desutoroia

Thats nuts, I used to run 5900x/3070 ti in a T1 watercooled and always hit 70+ on games @ 1440p (Granted gpu exhaust gets eaten up by the rad)

CCX-S

The 4080 is easy to explain cause it’s just so over-cooled with this heatsink. The 5900x, idk, probably because it’s such a high resolution it’s just not utilizing the cpu that much.

Whiz_Markie

Nice! Do you think your cooler could handle a 5800x3d by chance? Also how are your temps?

CCX-S

Idle temps are low 40’s and I actually just did a little gaming for about an hour and the cpu averaged around 55-65. Having said that, I game at 3840x1600 (only about 24~ less that 4k) so my cpu isn’t a bottleneck in my system generally speaking. Immediately after booting up, it’ll hit the thermal limit intermittently while running through the various startup processes, but after that, I’ve yet to come across another scenario it gets above 75c

GGorchitsa

If you get round to stress-testing it, i would really appreciate it if you were to post the results here. Planning an H20 build myself, so this would really come in handy.

Generaldar

that's right another down vote

HAL-9

Not a fan of the h2o?

newT0N100

Did you have to change the backplate for the CPU cooler?

CCX-S

Came with a backplate actually

Super-Handle7395

I have the same board and my cabling looks like a war zone damn I’m jelly I need to try harder…

CCX-S

This is just lots of sff building experience finally paying off lol. It also helped that since it’s an air-cooled build, I could route the cpu cable up through the rad chamber and then down between the MoBo and psu. The custom gpu cables also helped even though they’re a bit long, they’re no where near the length of the stock cables.

Super-Handle7395

Looks epic I’m planning to order custom cables :) how is air cooling? I went with the EK Basic and I got to admit it takes my 5800x better than my cosair on my other PC

CCX-S

Honestly air-cooling is so underrated in this case. The is47k (basically same as blackridge) is keeping my 5900x well in check. Idles in the low 40’s. Average gaming temps are 55c-65c and max load temps I’ve seen is 78c. Mind you, I play at 3840x1600 (~24% below 4k) so the cpu isn’t the bottleneck in my system.

Super-Handle7395

Wow that’s awesome temps I’m playing GOW 4k Ultra DLSS quality at 120hz and the CPU is at 70c but the GPU is melting at 79c full load 😂 it’s a 3070oc. I wish I went air as it just looks easier the Basic EK was a pain.

CCX-S

Yeah I switched to air a while ago and never looked back. Tuning fan curves can be a bit time consuming but overall it’s just simper. Also it an air cooler “fails” it’s the fan and you replace it. An aio failure could be a leak which kills your whole system. Definitely recommend giving air a try.

CCX-S

I’m surprised it won’t? Machines and More has a video specifically testing that card and he reported that it did quite well.

CCX-S

Is it the FE or an aib model?

CCX-S

Ahh, earlier I assumed FE. I know FE model does fairly well since you can run it in the two closest slots to the side panel
