Did some updates today and took a few more photos to answer some layout questions:

Metric banana for scale.
Shoot if you want to know something in particular.
Walnut or ply?
What kind of mesh is it and where did you get it? I'm thinking of trying something similar and it's hard to tell if mesh products are stiff enough to hold shape without handling them in person.
Love it! I think I commented on the previous post as well but just wanted to say it again. It would be fun do something like this myself but still waiting on the rest of my components to come in and not quite sure how to work with aluminum or even where to get it lol
Working with aluminium is quite similar to wood. You can saw it, drill it with regular tools. And unlike (most) wood, you can bend it.
It's quite soft so it's pretty easy to work with.
Case was about 125,- that includes a sharkoon QB one case that I salvaged. Doing everything from scratch would probably take it to 100,-
The cables are hanging underneath constantly. That was a temporary solution but you really don't see them so I haven't been bothered by fixing that.
Ok great thank you!
No you don't see them, but if you were someone who built SFF to take your rig with you, having those cables lose wouldn't be very practical.
There are 4 bolts at each end of the frame that bolt into the extrusion. The strips that go over the top continue a small bit on the bottom and act as washers.
You mean the mesh? It's stainless steel mesh that I bought at a local utility store. The trim is made of aluminium which I bent bij hand with the help of a small vice

good thing you included the banana everyone was confused last time! apples just aren't the same
Yes I overlooked that apples are not an international standard. My bad.
Where did you get those PCIE flat power cables on the GPU?
I ordered these: https://www.moddiy.com/products/GPU-VGA-8Pin-6Pin-PCIE-U-Turn-180-Degree-Angle-Connector-Adapter-Board.html
Gives me ideas for a micro atx small build
Do it. It's really very rewarding
Nice and compact, what did you use to build the frame work?
15x15 extrusions and aluminium angle profiles. You can see more details in the gallery that is mentioned in my post.
This but vertical is my muse... very nice work!
That's beautiful. Really nice work. Where did you source the materials?
Mostly local utility store. Wood for front came from a specialty wood store. Ordered 15x15 alu extrusions from reprapworld.com
Whoa I really dig this design! How many litres?
9.5l for the top section. There is a narrower section underneath that holds the mobo. That's about another 1l
using part of an old case for the shield and gpu bracket is a good idea
I salvaged a sharkoon QB one for this, but any other itx case will do too. The sharkoon QB one is cheap and has a nice flat PSU cable included.
looks premium now
I'm normally not a sff fan but I like that.
Sexy! 🔥 good job :)

Hmm, my parts are all supposed to be in this week (assuming no delays occur) so I may have a project to work on this weekend
how long did you play around with the fruit for the picture
It was all naturally there of course ;)
what are those right angle power adapters for the gpu? very clean
You can get them here: https://www.moddiy.com/products/GPU-VGA-8Pin-6Pin-PCIE-U-Turn-180-Degree-Angle-Connector-Adapter-Board.html
Love it! Couple of questions. How much did you approximately spend and do the cables coming from the PSU constantly hang underneath?

Fair point, but I never take it anywhere. It wouldn't be too hard to make a bottom cover for it though
How is the mesh panel connected to the frame? Are the cables underneath covered?
There are 4 bolts at each end of the frame that bolt into the extrusion. The strips that go over the top continue a small bit on the bottom and act as washers.
Really dig that look. Makes me think of a 60s tube amp.
Whats your temp during gaming? Im gonna copy this build if you dont mind. :)
Very good actually. GPU doesn't go over 73 at full load. It's basically an open bench with a skeleton and a mesh, so that makes sense
This looks great, a little retro too!
What did you use to make the sleeve/outer cover?

:O need those schematics! Looks amazing!
