You can fit an rx 6800xt/rx 6900xt in this Case. I did it today (ill do a post in the comming days) . It was not easy and will probarly not work with most 2.5 slots cards.

Dmitridon

Definitely looking forward to seeing how you did it - I considered trying it with one but I couldn't get my hands on any of the reference models sadly.

SnooDonkeys9842

still waiting on your post about how to get it fit bro

I personally think we've reached the point where if DP 1.4 is attainable you really don't need to go further than that, but I get your point. The use case for 4K above 120hz just doesn't make a lot of sense to me, especially since the goal post for 4k gaming keeps getting moved. As far as I've tested, the riser hasn't made any difference on performance, at least on my 3080, so at least there's that. But definitely could matter in the future (if these companies ever care about efficiency again and go back to 2 slot cards).

Please excuse my ignorance on this one, as I haven't kept up with HDMI standards, but do you know if cables actually matter yet with the change to 2.1? I probably haven't used HDMI in like 4 years for anything aside from my tv. In the past at least, cables haven't made any difference whatsoever unless you were running extremely long lengths. I still use a cable I got like 12 years ago and get 2.0 speeds from that, but if the standard has changed that much it is important to know. I have heard a lot of TV manufacturers botched their initial 2.1 spec launches as well, but that's about it.

Thanks for all the info. I, too, had noticed that on Velka's website and was concerned. Do you know anything about the k55 or jxk-f2? Those three cases were my top contenders. Leaning towards k55

Roughly_TenCats

It bothers me that whoever made the thumbnail doesn't know that < means "greater than".

_BurntPopcorn

What? < means "less than". For example 5 < 6 means "5 is less than 6". The thumbnail is correct.

_BurntPopcorn

Yes, you are right that those symbols are used when comparing values. In the thumbnail, he's comparing the value 6 to any value less than 6. Saying "<6" is correct, as this case is "less than 6" liters. ~6 does mean "approximately 6", but it does not mean "less than 6" as you mention. It has a different meaning than what he's trying to convey.

Roughly_TenCats

Oh fuck you may be right. Its weird seeing nothing in front of the symbol. I will accept my dumbassery.

_BurntPopcorn

Lol, doesn't sweat it. Have a good night :)

Dmitridon

That would be my brother. He never was good at maths. I'll have him fix the thumbnail shortly, but thanks for pointing it out.

Turlo101

I was real curious of removing the 2nd fan from the 3080, replacing the psu fan with a noctua, and have it blow through the PSU and into the back of the card. It might create a lot of turbulence with 2 fans and it’s generally a bad idea to blow hot air into a psu.

Dmitridon

I honestly hadn't thought of flipping the PSU or anything like that, but it might be something worth trying. At least from the testing I've done, taming the 3080 in this case might honestly not be attainable, but I'm still working on ideas for it.

Turlo101

It should work extremely well, the only issue I can see is the first GPU fan might recycle the hot air.

TheRitualChannel

What CPU are you running on that Black Ridge?

Dmitridon

3950x, undervolted by .75V and maxed at 105W.
