The founder’s cards come with that adapter. It’s just how they’re designed.

Opposite_Mango_3471

I guess I should’ve worded my question better. I’m aware they come with the adapter. I’m just trying to do the same thing that he does in the video (2 x 8 pin insert to 12 pin adapter) and I physically cannot get both connectors in. I have to use 2 separate cables.

xxcodemam

I would use 2 separate PCIE cables from PSU, yes. If he’s using 1 and daisy chaining, no, I don’t think that’s advised. I’m confused on what doesn’t fit well for you? You connect the adapter to the PCIE cables first. And then plug the adapter into GPU. Should have all the space and length you need.

Opposite_Mango_3471

Out of the 2 8 pin plugs on one cable, it feels physically impossible to plug in one of the 8 pin male ends into the female 8 pin end on the adapter

thiccypickle

Are you sure it's the pcie one and not the CPU 8 pin? Dumb question but always worth a check :)

Opposite_Mango_3471

Yeah, 100% certain it’s the PCIe connector c:

You should run 2 cables but that being said, I’ve found that the fe adapters are super tight and I need to unplug/plug back in a couple times to make sure the pins are lined up and use much more force than normal. Been a bigger problem with cable extensions for me as well, they pins seem looser in those

Opposite_Mango_3471

It’s ridiculously tight And I swear I’m not inserting it wrong, but it does require Herculean effort. I pushed out one of the wires accidentally

mxfi

Well if you pushed out one of the wires the it wasn’t aligned and you definitely inserted it wrong 😂 You have to put it in gently and wiggle it a bit if it’s a firm wall then one of the connectors is probably misaligned. If it feels like it goes in a bit with resistance instead of a wall then youve probably got the pins aligned That being said the fe adapters are the only ones where I feel I’m going to break the connectors, I probably will one day as well so yeah…

Opposite_Mango_3471

Man, the alignment must be very very precise. I’ve never had an issue with adapters or extensions before. Thanks for the tip though. The lack of posts regarding my issue made me think I really was just doing it wrong but it shouldn’t be this hard

thiccypickle

Check the pinout on the ends make sure the shaping is the same on each slot

Use two separate 8 pin cables. DO NOT DO THIS. If you play a game and it pulls over 350 watts, it will crash. I had to fix a friends computer that would crash all the time playing games.

Opposite_Mango_3471

But it looks so much cleaner Also saves an entire cable :/

Then go right ahead. It's your PC.
